El libro Islandia esta pesimamente redactado.

Dividen la isla en varios sectores, que se suceden hasta completarla, hasta ahí todo bien.

Pero al terminar la primera, sigue con el final de la segunda y luego retrocede hacia la primer parte.

No aplica la logica de una continuacion.

He comprado muchos de sus libros, pero este es un desastre.

Continuo a non capacitarmi del cambio editoriale di Lonely Planet degli ultimi anni.
Ho in casa tutta la serie delle varie guide che ho acquistato per i miei vari viaggi e la guardo con nostalgia.
Era un compagno di viaggio affidabile, sicuro e preciso, con la giusta quantità di informazioni e di suggestioni.
Adesso sembra di vedere il depliant di un'agenzia di viaggi di paese.
Che delusione!
Spero che riuscirete a invertire rotta.

Used to be my go to guides for all travels. Easy to read, easy to find the information needed.

Sadly the new format is just so bad that the guide books are completely useless.
So very disappointed.

The new format Caribbean Islands book has no information on where to stay if you actually care about money. No dangers and annoyance section sadly absent as Haiti is one of the included countries that "You'll fall in love with". Just another boring travel guide that you don't need if you can get online. Dreadful.

I share the frustration of so many reviewers about Lonely Planet guides. They are useless compared to the old format.
I have solved the problem by buying excellent (like new) pre 2018 volumes on ebay for around £3-4.

Unfortunately there is a lot of information missing, incorrect information, and a new layout which just does not work and is more confusing than helpful. Incredibly disappointing, considering I have purchased Lonley Planet for many years.

I recently also used the Mexico City Pocket Book at the start of the year, and here too the information was not complete.

Lonely Planet used to be the best guide book you could get. Not sure what has happened to them.

La nostra prima guida Lonely Planet è stata del 2002. E' stata la nostra compagna di viaggi in questi anni. Quest'anno acquistiamo la guida della Tanzania ed. 2024 per l'imminente viaggio.... ma che delusione.... non è più la stessa! abbiamo dovuto prendere in biblioteca l'edizione del 2018. Un mucchio di informazioni a trafiletto, ripetitive e che non servono a niente al viaggiatore fai da te, cartine incomplete difficili da leggere. Pagine e pagine di foto che portano via spazio per le informazioni necessarie: spostamenti in autobus, orari, costi, informazioni pratiche, insomma non servono a niente e logicamente non ce la porteremo. Ci dispiace aver buttato 27 euro.

Sconsiglio vivamente la guida dell'Indonesia. L'ho attesa a lungo (non è stata rinnovata per 10 anni) comprata appena uscita la nuova versione a 35 euro, scarna di argomenti e approssimativa. Non parla di spostamenti e di trasporti, non parla di posti meno turistici, di agenzie affidabili, di sistemazioni decenti. il Borneo è quasi nullo anche sulle località principali. A Bali siamo capaci tutti di andare anche con booking.com. Gli inviati sembrano persone che ci hanno fatto una vacanza estiva. Avrei potuto scriverla meglio io. Deludente. L'ho rivenduta al libraccio per 7 euro dopo 15 giorni.

Have I been scammed?

I bought a book as a Christmas present the 7th of January. The website said that the cutoff day for Christmas deliveries was the 15th of December for the UK. It’s not 31/12/25 and I still haven’t received it nor the refund I requested.

I sent an email to the customer service team and it says that they will be off until the 5th of January.

I believe I might have been scammed?

Do not use the shop! Terrible site doesn't show which column is the shipping address, or billing.

Someone random gets a free book.

Email them and say they don't update orders.

Pathetic. Go elsewhere

Betrifft Lonely Planet EASTERN USA 6th Edition -
Habe dummerweise meinen Reiseführer zu Hause gelassen und dann in den USA den Planet gekauft.
Die Erkenntnis: Oberflächliche 0/8/15 Informationen überwiegen - Beispiel: Für Louisiana wird nicht einmal die Hauptstadt Baton Rouge besprochen - da hat selbst das mitgeführte ADAC Faltblatt mehr Information.
Ich bin jahrelang gerne mit dem Planet gereist (vorwiegend Australien, Neuseeland & USA), werde dies aber zukünftig ändern.
Vielleicht bringen (sich überholende) Hinweise auf Hotels und Restaurants bessere Erträge als der Verkauf...

Living and working in Laos, we are genuinely shocked that for the second edition in a row this guide completely ignores one of the region’s top-rated highlights: Don Daeng Island.
A one-boat ride from Champasak and consistently praised on Google and TripAdvisor (best attraction right after Vat Phu Unesco Heritage site). Award winning homestays, cycling trails,pristine sand beach, yoga retreats, birdwatching... yet once again, it doesn’t appear at all.

Meanwhile, this edition still lists long-closed guesthouses and outdated info.
It feels less like on-the-ground research and more like something assembled behind a screen with AI. Travellers relying only on this book will simply miss key parts of Southern Laos.

We had already provided feedback several times before this new edition, they simply ignored it.
Cannot recommend.

Reiseführer Malaysia, Singapur und Brunei
Genau wie im Reiseführer Paris gibt es zahllose veraltete Informationen. So existiert ein Steuererstattungssystem für Touristen in Malaysia schon seit 2018 nicht mehr; wird hier jedoch beschrieben. Der Verlag stellt sich dumm: Man dankt für die Hinweise; weitere Erklärungen gibt es nicht. Ganz groß ist der Reiseführer darin zu empfehlen, sich vor Reiseantritt zu informieren. Danke schön, wozu kaufte ich den Reiseführer?
Das Bussystem, wichtig und gut in Malaysia, wird so gut wie gar nicht beschrieben: Wo, wie kauft man Karten, wie zahlt man etc. Nichts!
Das war der letzte Reiseführer, den ich von Lonely Planet gekauft habe!

Utilizzo le guide lonely planet da più di 10 anni, purtroppo ho avuto modo di usare la nuova edizione 2025 ed è peggiorata rispetto alla versione precedente. La sezione della storia del paese e i vari approfondimenti sono ridotti di molto e non esaustivi, le mappe degli itinerari sono meno e fatte peggio e di fianco a luoghi e ristoranti non ci sono più gli orari di apertura, i prezzi e i vari riferimenti. Questo nuovo formato a colori e con foto sarà più accattivante ma per chi viaggia davvero e programma un viaggio da sola non è molto utile.
Ad esempio al momento sono in Corea con la vostra guida in cui non c’è nulla di utile:
- molti ristoranti segnalati risultano chiusi o difficili da trovare perché non ne viene specificato l’indirizzo né il numero di telefono
- le varie sezioni sono organizzate in modo disorganizzato e non per quartieri o zone per cui risulta difficoltoso organizzare la giornata
- informazioni sui mezzi pubblici? Inesistenti
- cartine? Inesistenti
- consigli su come prenotare alcune attrazioni fondamentali, nn ci sono gli orari di chiusura e di apertura posti
- le spiegazioni su monumenti o cose importanti sono pochissime e senza leggere altro su internet o prendere una guida sul posto non si riesce a capire nulla della storia del paese; la vecchia guida lovely x me era anche un ricordo, con alcune sezioni da rileggere a distanza di anni x ricordare il viaggio ma con queste sezioni carenti risulta difficile
- consigli su esperienze local da fare come corsi di cucina o altro..zero
Per fortuna esistono su Internet fonti di informazioni migliori e blogger e influencer di viaggio molto più attendibili della vostra nuova linea di guide, tante foto e colori ma poca sostanza. SOLDI BUTTATI

Impossible télécharger achat d'un livre numerique payé dont je n'ai que le bon de commande sur mon compte et la reference de calaméo qui est le site de telechargement qui... ne me connait pas. ; tres mal foutu. Temps perdu. Apres avoir epuisé toutes les éventuelles solutions. Réclamation et reçu lien 2:30 plus tard. Surveiller sa bal. Télécharger sur aire autoroute. Nul. Au final 30 minutes de perdues. Je suis professionnel de l'informatique. Décourageant.

Le guide Pologne qui affiche la mention entièrement mis à jour est fake(frauduleuse).Un voyage sur la côte Balte polonaise nous a permis de le constater…achat à éviter.

Amo viaggiare e da sempre acquistare una guida Lonely Planet è uno dei primi passi per organizzare i miei viaggi. Ne possiedo già più di dieci e non vedevo l’ora di provare questa nuova edizione dal look rinnovato. Purtroppo, però, l’entusiasmo è svanito subito.

La copia che ho ricevuto presentava diversi problemi di stampa: pagine non incollate correttamente e altre sfocate. Ma ciò che mi ha deluso di più è il contenuto: manca quella che per me era l’essenza delle vecchie guide, ovvero la sezione dedicata ai trasporti e alle esperienze fuori dalle rotte più turistiche.

Per me la Lonely Planet era un riferimento pratico e affidabile, ma questa edizione mi è sembrata incompleta e poco curata. Sto valutando seriamente di restituirla e acquistare una versione precedente.
Un vero peccato.

Lonely planet guidebooks used to be good, but no longer. I regret my recent purchase of the guidebook to Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. This book is next to worthless. Same goes for the latest lonely planet guidebook to Australia, another purchase I regret. Little to no practical guidance. So sad that the quality is now in the toilet
