Had a full system done to my Mercedes a200 at longlife plymouth. Brilliant service and an amazing price of kit installed. Andrew was spot on with everything and the car sounds a dream. This is my second time having an exhaust done here (two different cars) wouldn’t go anywhere else. You won’t be disappointed.

Unable to get new exhaust from anywhere. Minimum 2-3 week to order. Longlife Carshalton fitted me in and fitted new handmade system in under 2 hours. Also Dan gave really useful advice regarding other issues with the car. Very helpful. Also worth noting is took car to local tyre centre and whilst up on ramp, staff couldn't praise the work highly enough. "outstanding work", "really top quality job" etc. That's good to hear and a testament to the quality of the job.

Told by local garage that Mercedes needed new centre and rear box for MOT. No system available through Mercedes. Took to Longlife and explained to Andrew. He checked and fitted new middle box and made new brackets as he said rear box OK. Many businesses would have just charged for both. Car passed MOT, garage stating good job done. Andrew is one of those nice, genuine people you occasionally meet who are a delight to deal with

Had a back cat fitted today at the Plymouth branch by Andrew. It was for my Ford Fiesta S to achieve a better sound and twin tip detail. It looks and sounds fantastic, a really good job by a skilled mechanic. Customer service throughout was excellent and the price was really competitive, considering the exhaust had to be custom made to fit my vehicle. Highly recommended!

I recently had a custom made (cat back, non resonated) stainless steel exhaust system made, and fitted, by Tony -
at ‘A & S Tyres’ (a ‘Longlife’ franchise) Briton Ferry, Neath and Port Talbot.
My car is a Seat Ibiza FR 1.4 petrol, which I absolutely LOVE.
I’m currently saving for my next car, an Ibiza Cupra, and I want the next owner of the FR to equally love it as much as I do.
This was a huge part of the decision process of taking it to Tony; I needed a completely dependable company.
18 months ago, I went to Tony (with a different vehicle) to rectify a problem caused by ‘Profusion Exhausts’.
His help, on that occasion, made me decide to take the Ibiza to him - instead of using one of the firms such as ‘Scorpion’ or ‘Cobra’ (who also make bespoke exhaust systems for my model of car).
I explained to Tony - who, I have to say, is a very approachable and friendly guy - that I didn’t want the ‘boy racer’ sound… I wanted a “nice burble” (the exact words I used).
I also asked for a 2.5” pipe to be used - IF Tony agreed it was appropriate (I trust his expertise 100%).
Well, the result is absolutely amazing; I honestly couldn’t be more pleased…
The FR now has a gorgeous, sporty tone - ‘raspy’ without being harsh… A low down growl, which is partially (I’m assuming) achieved due to the fact that the system is non resonated, without being ‘in your face’ loud.
The car now sounds as it should.
It also looks, with it’s twin 3” tailpipe, a million times better than it did when it left the Seat factory.
I can’t thank Tony enough.
Honestly, the man is an absolute genius - and a gentleman to boot.
When I do eventually save enough to buy my Cupra, I’ll have absolutely NO hesitation in returning to ‘A & S’ for another top notch exhaust.

I had my backbox removed for a straight pipe as my exghust was blowing from the flange at the rear, (badly deteriorated) and also a center box removal at long life in Caerphilly on my nissan juke nismo. After around 11 months as I was driving along the motorway I suddenly Heard a loud bang and a scraping noise I pulled over into the services to inspect the noise only to find out that my exghust had broken off where the flange was located and was puzzled why it was still on the vehicle? as that was one of the main reasons why I wanted it changed in the first place. I then had to call for a friends assistant who recovered me back to a local garage, and upon inspection of the exhaust he said that I needed to contact the people IE #longlife Caerphilly to try and resolve the very poor welding that he had found, and find out why they left the flange on after asking for this to be removed. I then contacted long life in Caerphilly, but weeks went by without any response so I contacted head office and on that same day sent another email to the Caerphilly branch asking for a copy of my receipt and invoice which they sent with an email regarding a conversation previous we had, stating that "their sorry about what has happened and could I bring it back down to repair" I stated that this wasn't possible as it's over 70 miles from where I live so I will have to contact head office for a more amicable solution. After sending an email to head office after speaking with them I was awaiting a response off the assistant manager who finally got back to me after leaving voicemails and requests by colleagues to call me back or a response to my email then he finally did, asking "have I resolved it with the Caerphilly branch"? and I then went on to explain to him in an email that I live in Carmarthenshire, which is quite a distance from where the branch is, as stated to the Caerphilly branch when I first got in contact when the issue arose, and I explained that I could not drive the vehicle in the condition the exhaust was in, not just for legal reasons IE "driving a unsafe vehicle that could potentially fall off and endanger other road users", but as the exhaust had no clamps holding it up securely and was resting on the rear subframe I was not willing to take that risk with my own safety but that of members of the public and other road users, and also being stopped by either the police and my car impounded or by traffic enforcement and risk losing my license incurring a huge fine and or possibly penalty points. I then spoke with the police and the DVLA who informed me that it was not safe to drive and to check out the law online as there is plenty information on the government websites.

(Whether you think you’re likely to be spotted or not, driving with a broken exhaust is actually illegal. As stated in the Road Traffic Act 1988, you’re guilty of an offence if you drive with the vehicle in a dangerous condition, which includes posing a danger to yourself or others. Your exhaust falls into the category of ‘The condition of the motor vehicle or trailer, or of its accessories or equipment’ and must, therefore, be kept in good working order to avoid being pulled over and penalised.) You can be fined up to £2,500, be banned from driving and get 3 penalty points for driving a vehicle in a dangerous condition. Under section 48 off the road traffic act or the road safety act 2006.

Also in that email the person said "they will be talking with the welder when they come back in"and they apologised for the workmanship, and to be quite honest I wasn't comfortable taking back the vehicle to that branch, it would have been easier for myself to get my vehicle recovered to the Swansea branch as that is only a 20-minute drive from where I live.
Since then I have received no response from head office so I have had to make contact with the CEO Alexander David Kilcoyne to see if he can resolve my current issues. I have spoken with the ombudsman service today who advised "if I have not come to a amicable solution with the company then to call them back up at the end of the week to give them a little extra time to respond and to file a complaint with them", hopefully it will not come to this and I receive an email to rectify the situation at hand, and not have to take things any further as I'm also a disabled man who needs access to my car and I'm currently using a family members until this is resolved. I have always used long life as far back as I can remember and their quality of workmanship, customer care and service has always been secound to non so I'm pretty astounded at the level of service and aftercare that I'm receiving. Hopefully things will get resolved and my review can then be rectified but as it stands I think my review is fair at this point.

Danny at Carshalton built and installed custom stainless steel exhaust system for my big block 1968 Mercury Cougar. It has totally transformed the sound and ground clearance problems I had. He has made the car far more driveable, no speed hump issues, no rattles and a far better noise level and tone - brilliant quality too!

Longlife Basingstoke Exhausts. Stainless steel system Cat back on Range Rover 4.2 sport. Awesome sound and Matt built the system to the exact spec that i wanted. Would highly recommend.

Been wanting a sports performance exhaust for years on my BMW 325i M Sport. I finallly got a straight pipe cat back delete. What a difference, nice sporty sound, smoother, and even has a little rumble. Car feels so new.
I can now really start to enjoy driving my car now.

With so many choices and options with exhausts, I'm so happy I picked bath long life. I wanted my MX5 to sound sportier without being too loud and blowy. Not knowing much about this sort of thing the guys at long life talked me through the options, never fealing like I was being sold things I didn't need.
The final result is a brilliant sounding, well made exhaust system that I could not be happier with. Thanks again guys! I will be back 👍

The company have changed their warranty system for "lifetime guarantee" over the years and now you have to be the owner of the vehicle when the exhaust is fitted in order to claim.

I bought my vehicle when the warranty was transferable but I didn't have the transfer document. However I did have sufficient evidence to show that I am only the second owner of the vehicle and with a very low mileage. I also had the original invoice.

The company is very short-sighted and inflexible and I worry that this would be the situation with any new contract or at least in any dealings with head office.

They also took a very long time to confirm their reasoning, ultimately blaming eBay scammers who claimed for an exhaust repair even though they weren't fitted by a Longlife operator. To be honest this explanation is a little incredulous as surely the scammers would have to show an appropriate invoice?

The repair to my exhaust was not that expensive or complicated but the company wouldn't honour the spirit if not the letter of the original warranty when faced with reasonable evidence. Many retailers would be more magnanimous.

Coupled with the fact that their local franchise confirmed that the original exhaust was incorrectly configured (sitting too far forward and improperly secured) and may have used the wrong piping.

I will be leaving more positive feedback for the franchisee who fixed the problem.

Excellent service from start to finish. Would definitely recommend.

Confronted Dan with a challenge ….. 4 wheel scooter 🛵 with central exhaust ……. He rose to the challenge superbly , result remarkable craftsmanship , I now have a beautifully built exhaust. Keep up the great work Dan. Thank you.

Longlife britton ferry swansea good service great sound had a cat back put on my mk7 fiesta

I have a Toyota Previa, not the sort of car you generally fit a Stainless Steel exhaust onto. However this is a car that has been adapted to accommodate a wheelchair in the back. For years we have had exhausts that have been "made to measure" to accommodate the adaption but they have always been very low to the ground and would therefore hit almost any bump in the road and consequently they didn't last very long. Dan has managed to secure the exhaust into a void not previously used to its full potential and so the exhaust is no longer the lowest part of the underside. An excellent job, very efficient and nice people to work with.

BTW I think it is important to differentiate this LongLife operation in Wallington, Surrey from others that have been reviewed here.

I called Long Life Wallington and spoke to a lovely lady called Sue about having a full system built for my '94 SL500. She suggested I take the car in for their technician Danny to inspect which I did and left the car with them overnight. Danny called me back first thing next day with suggestions on available options. I chose to have the middle otion on sound and have a standard finish tailpipe that was the same as the OEM version so no cutting of the rear valance. What can I say, Sue and Danny were so helpful and obliging, my car sounds glorious with the option I chose really bringing out the V8 sound! I'd recommend Long Life Wallington to anyone wishing for a first class service and a quality product.

5 stars for exhaust and it’s Great very happy with that, but I wouldn’t ask them to do other jobs because they aren’t so good and the excuse used is they are only an exhaust place so why take someone’s money and offer to do the work if they aren’t qualified. They also accuse you of all sorts when you try to get things you paid for rectified which is highly unprofessional. We asked them if they could get the bumper repaired they said they could and they requested the company to do it as cheap as possible even though we said we wanted it properly fixed, it was just glued on no metal used to bond it and it fell off that cost £300 and apparently we’ve reversed into a wall or gone over a bump and done it deliberately (even though there’s no damage to any of the car) all it’s been is a pass the book experience, they put some bits right but politely told us they would do it and get us gone because they made a mistake doing the work because we are the bad ones as the customer, and we are bad for wanting what we paid for done. Jobs were missed off and things done how they liked rather than what we had asked for. They only like you if you keep your mouth shut and go on your way. That’s not how life works, you wouldn’t cut someone’s hair off and tell them they are wrong for being angry!! Wouldn’t go back anyway because the customer service is lacking.

Would highly recommend having an exhaust done here. Really good communication with Dan and Sue who were very helpful. Although I went for the sporting sound exhaust which was rather loud and my fault entirely after requesting that, Sue kindly fitted me in to come back and have it made quieter. Dan done a cracking job and is now perfect and didn’t charge me for his time and said as long as the customer is happy he’s happy. Such a great experience.

Con artist fitted wrong tailpipe promised 10% off but when the day come to pay they said no otherwise they ain’t makeing money after I raised the issue up with the director he did not care at all gobby mouth over the phone unique sound the said in the email well that was a load off crap they said will fit my old exzhaust after they cut it in many different places director response was will be better how i smell 💩 at this point list goes on and on i will upload my a video soon on how my experience was when these I don’t want anyone to go through the same experiance as I’ve had :’(

Ps neil huggett is very full off it nice to take money but when this go wrong he is very argumentive and rude

Having had a new stainless steel exhaust system fitted to my Audi S4 V8 which was fantastic whilst accelerating up through the gears. However it was rather noisy with annoying droning noise between 30 and 60 mph. Having had a conversation with Dan who originally fitted it was booked back in to have 2 new rear silencers fitted free of charge. it’s now absolutely perfect, good job. I would recommend Longlife exhaust systems to anybody. Bernie.
