Loxta Stealth Commander handle â shim failure on uPVC door
nstalled the Loxta Stealth Commander handle on a uPVC door. After a short period of normal use, the internal shim/thrust washer split. This part sits between the handle boss and backplate, and once it failed the handle dropped and lost correct alignment.
This is a mechanical component failure, not cosmetic. The design uses a single spring cassette, which may limit longâterm durability. For clarity, Sold Secure certification only covers attackâresistance testing, not longevity or mechanical endurance, so it does not relate to this type of failure.
Loxta offered a replacement internal plate, but this does not address the mechanical issue. I declined a likeâforâlike replacement and requested a refund under the Consumer Rights Act on the basis that the product is not durable or fit for purpose.
