After being deceived, traumatized, and left in the lurch by a contractor who fabricated his credentials and documents, and now under warrant for arrest, we embarked on a quest for a reliable contractor who would fulfill the initial expectations and commitments. Our search led us to Maruti-Builders of Milpitas, who agreed to take over our partially constructed Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) by the previous contractor. Maruti-Builders embraced a challenge that few contractors would consider and commenced work on the agreed date, diligently addressing the errors made by the previous contractor. The owner’s initial plan of action, frequent site visits, hands-on supervision of vital and critical tasks, ongoing dialogue with us, and ability to turn a distressing project into a satisfying construction journey were commendable.
Maruti-Builders distinguishes itself from other construction firms through its client-focused approach, ingenuity, and readiness to tackle hard-to-acquire or construction elements. The owner’s proactive suggestions led to numerous enhancements over the prior contractor’s work. For instance, unlike the previous contractor who failed to align the vanity light with the sink, Maruti succeeded. We desired a bespoke fiberglass exterior with glass panels. The estimates we received varied from 12 to 16 weeks for delivery, plus an additional 2 to 3 weeks for shipping, with prohibitive costs ranging between $3,000 and $5,900 which we could not afford and decided to install a standard 36” door but as a last resort, inquired with the owner of Maruti if he could use his resourcefulness and inventiveness to secure a more favorable price and delivery. Remarkably, he procured the door for $1,600 and had it delivered in just 4 days—not weeks—subsequently modifying the wall for installation. The previous contractor had repeatedly postponed the sewage line installation 34 times, turning it into a significant hurdle. However, Manish tackled it efficiently in a single day and flawlessly completed the entire project within the tight 4-week timeframe he verbally promised and stipulated in the contract despite multiple challenges of previous contractor’s flawed construction, and defective material. Manish has the neck for attracting talented people such as a gifted electrician, a insightful finishing man, a diligent and pleasant painter, and a patient plumber who worked on our ADU.

Unlike other contractors who rise through the ranks, have not learned and observed professional mannerisms in their working lives, and take up contracts beyond their resources and then delay your project, Manish is a high-tech engineer with a passion for construction. He managed his projects very well and kept the project going, making dealing with him much easier. Manish’s answer to any question has always been, do not worry, we will take care of it, and he did with a smile on his face; Manish was kind and compassionate to us.
