POOR QUALITY Products & even WORSE so-called 'Service'
This FAULTY, POOR QUALITY Medion 4K Ultra HD Smart TV came from Aldi. All of the FAULTS & issues occurred within the first 6 months.
When switched on, a large amount of horrible dirty marks appear all over the screen, (which are especially noticeable & prominent when there is a light background or picture)! This is not the so-called 'dirty screen' effect, (though that is another issue that this faulty TV set suffers from), but is actually a large number of actual marks within the screen layers!
There are no marks on the front of the screen, the fault can only be seen when the TV is switched on, therefore this can only be a MANUFACTURING FAULT, where dirt & marks have been trapped between some of the many layers that make up the LED screen were bonded together.
There are also vertical lines up the entire left & right hand sides of the screen, (more prominent on the left hand side), which again are BELOW the front of the screen somewhere in the layers of the screen, (look like they could be glue marks from when the layers were bonded together). This fault means there is 2 to 3 cm strip all the way up the sides of the screen where the picture is permanently out of focus!
There are LOTS of other FAULTS, including:
1) the back light is appallingly bright & terribly uneven, and won't switch off, even when allegedly turned off completely in the settings!
2) There is a large amount of picture bleed, (where the picture 'bleeds' into the black* bars above & below the picture when watching a wider screen format movie, (as most cinematic movies are formatted).
3) *The supposedly black bars above & below the picture of wide screen movies are nothing of the sort, being at best a range of greys; plus they are very uneven in tone, ranging to almost light grey toward the corners, (highlighted by the dreadful, over bright back light issue).
4) The picture is not refreshing properly or fast enough; there are 'ghost' images of the previous scenes apparent for several seconds, which is especially noticeable when there is a dark picture, (night scenes are the worst).
5) Neither the HDR function or Dolby Vision function work properly or at all when watching 4K Ultra HD Discs! I have tried this HDR only and with Dolby Vision enabled discs with the function switched on & off, and there is no difference! This means that blacks are, at best. grey, (like the bars above and below), which really detracts from the Ultra HD format and defeats the part of the purpose of the format!
In addition, 4K Ultra Discs do not look any better than the standard definition Blu-rays, (which is easy to test as most 4K's come with the standard Blu-ray disc included)! In fact this supposed 4K Ultra HD looks much WORSE than my old standard HD TV in ALL modes, (watching SD TV; watching HD TV; watching recorded TV content through a PVR; watching DVD's (through 3 different players; DVD; Blu-ray & 4K Ultra); watching Blu-rays and watching 4K Ultra Discs).
6) The remote control, (second one after the first was replaced), is temperamental, (though I suspect this may be a fault with the sensor in the TV set).
7) Blank screen issue, (occasional); on the odd occasion the screen goes completely blank; the remote won't work and the only way to get a picture again is to power the TV mains off & switch it back on again.
8) Complete sound drop out, (intermittent but regular issue); occasionally the TV goes silent, (this effects the TV's own speakers & attached soundbar, so must be a TV fault). When this happens the only way to sort it out & get sound back is to switch the TV power off & then back on again!
Then, after just under 5 months since purchase the screen went entirely and there is no picture at all, whether through TV aerial or any HDMI!!!!!
£537 DOWN THE DRAIN.... going to have to take Aldi to Court as they REFUSE to acknowledge it is faulty!
The QUALITY of this TV Set is truly dreadful! It is UNFIT FOR PURPOSE; NOT 'as described; NOT of 'satisfactory quality' & not likely to last a reasonable amount of time!
Medion staff are unhelpful, obstructive, ignorant & unprofessional! They agreed the TV was FAULTY but have lied to the trader & refuse to help!
I just want a refund but Aldi REFUSE to help and are ignorant, obstructive & fundamentally dishonest! BEWARE, if you buy tech from Aldi and it goes wrong you will be stuffed; they do not care and will not help, plus they will lie to you and deny that the Consumer Rights Act applies to you, (even though the manufacturer finally confirmed the TV suffered MANUFACTURING FAULTS, Aldi are insisting it is not faulty and say it is 'user error'; WORST so-called legitimate company it has ever been my misfortune to be, effectively, scammed by!
AVOID!
Took 1,5 to boot up
Same here, if I could give 0 stars, I would.
Absolutely horrible experience. Had (still do, wish I didn't though) a Medion Akoya for about 3 years now, first 1,5 years everything was fine, maybe a few hiccups here and there, but then, oh boy
Notebook started having problems with booting up, constant need to update windows without actually having enough space for it - those cheap notebooks that have barely any memory so you can't update windows and it will bug you until it's last breath? Yup.
One of the only good things about it is the touch screen, that was very handy when the touch pad was acting up and you needed to scroll. But now that's not really working either :))
I've had to buy complectations to add to this lacking device. I've now got a keyboard, a mouse, and a whole memory block that I need to hook up to the machine when I'm starting it up. But wait, bonus! I know it's pretty common for computers to have 2 USB slots, but for this current set up you can see how that's not working out. I have to decide what exactly do I need to use firstð
Anyway, long story short - awful. Don't ever buy from this company. In fact, I've been researching online on what to do when this specific model doesn't power on, and guess what - it's the second google search result. I've spent 1,5 hours just now trying to boot this thing up, and miraculously it decided to work. Look up other reviews online, you'll see how this company almost scammed people, wanting them to pay repairs when the product was still under warranty.
I've never been more enraged when using an electionic product in my life. The first chance I get to buy a better computer, I'm hopping on and leaving this junk behind
Don't ever buy from them
Horrible pc
I'vehad my pc for less than a year and whenever i turn it on and for an example play a game, it lags like S**t! My laptop that isn't even a gaming laptop is better than this gaming pc!!!
I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!
After 2,5 years my laptop stopsâŠ
After 2,5 years my laptop stops working. Not turning on att all. It is high specification gaming laptop for £800. Warranty gone and there was a problem with motherboard. Medion/Lenovo service offer me repair for £150 (that's including new motherboard, both way shipping and all service). In return I received fixed laptop with brand new charger( in my old one something was loose inside). So in overall I'm very happy from Medion service, but on flip side why my motherboard gone down after 2.5 years? But service was quick and adviser who called me was very helpful.

My Medion all-in-one is a nice machine but
My Medion all-in-one is a nice machine but it all too often powers off for no reason. When its behaving itself it is an ideal machine. I bought it through PC World even though it is not listed on their site.
Can't find the receipt right now but it is less than two years old.
50 inch smart 4k tv from aldi onlineâŠ
50 inch smart 4k tv from aldi online had nothing but trouble with it. I've had total dtv channel loss I've had picture but no sound also this morning it has frozen on and won't turn off! Spend more time turning it off at the plug to reboot than I do watching it. It's going back I'm afraid spend a bit more on a make you have heard of
Bunch of Charlatans do not buy from this Company ð€
I purchased a Medion Akoya E3222 notebook from Aldi in June 2019 and was initially pleased with the product. However, in January 2020 the top of the adapter broke off in the charging port and I couldn't get it out. I contacted after sales as there was 3 years warranty on the device & was told to see if I could prise the bit that was stuck in out and they would send me a new AC Adapter. I tried this and couldn't remove it so they said they would get a courier to pick it up for repair. They even messed this up, I took the day off and after staying in all day I contacted after sales only to be told a courier hadn't been arranged! When my device finally got to the repair centre, I received an email saying my notebook wouldn't be repaired under warranty due to customer misuse, this is what they said. After assessing your device, the repair centre has deemed that a repair cannot be completed under the manufacturerâs warranty due to the connectors being damaged by extraneous cause such as the cable being inserted the wrong way, brute force or the wrong type of plug etc.
This was the final straw so I sent my response. I am writing in response to your email below and utterly refute the comments made about why my Notebook cannot be repaired under warranty and will be taking this further. I am a 55 year old woman who knows how to look after her property and doesn't use 'brute force', insert cables the wrong way (not sure how this would even be possible!) and has only ever used the power charger provided. As I explained to Jonas, who was the first person I spoke to, I had plugged in the charger and when I came to disconnect it when it was fully charged, the charger wouldn't come out of the port on the Notebook, although it had been inserted correctly and not forced in. I was eventually able to pull it out or thought I had but part of it was still left in the charging port (as shown in the picture I sent). I tried to pull this part out as well but it wouldn't budge. As Jonas had suggested, I tried to pull it out with some pliers which didn't work and just bent it, this may be why your repair team think it had been forced in!
After toing & froing for some time and being told they could repair it for over half the price of what I'd originally paid, although not even a year old, I told them to send the device back un-repaired.
Buy from this Company at your peril as the Warranty isn't worth the paper it's written on and the After Sales Service leaves a lot to be desired!!!
You're better of saving up
You're better of saving up.
If you see a Medion laptop on a deal and thought you finally found a decent gaming laptop for an affordable price, please don't fool yourself like I did.
It is lovely (sarcasm) to see plenty of reviews going on about how fast this laptop breaks. I can't even close the lid on mine anymore, otherwise this laptop is going to fall to pieces completely. I have never dropped it, I have never kicked it or thrown the laptop at a wall, but if you looked at how it is now you wouldn't believe me.
The charger port decided to detach outside, so I can't even unplug it either. I've had to keep it in a designated spot on the desk, with the charger permanently plugged in (don't worry, I switch the mains off) and the lid up.
I warn you. Do not buy this product, do not BREAK this product.
I spent roughly £500 on a piece of fragile plastic that doesn't have the strength to be a laptop. It would've been better turned into a plastic flask for cups of coffee.

Bought Medion TV (Aldi on line)
No sound
Screws missing for stand
Bought a Medion x5-Z8350 in 2018 fromâŠ
Bought a Medion x5-Z8350 in 2018 from Aldi so less than a year old. The case already has multiple cracks around the hinge areas and a large crack across the lid which continues to get worse no matter how careful I am with it. Very poor build quality. This laptop has turned out to be a very bad purchase.
poor build quality
poor build quality. screen has a crack without any fall etc. power issue, WOULDN'T BUY AGAIN.
Don't buy, products break fast
I've bought the Razor Gaming laptop X6603 for my school.
It stopped working 3 months after purchase. Though helpful with customer support and fixing my laptop this happened an additional 4 times! They aren't fixing my problem! I have to keep the power button pressed for over 5 minutes for it to turn on! What the fvck?
I'm about to send it back the 5th time in a timespan of little over a year. Can't recommend.
Also my plastic casing began showing fractures after very little usage.
Avoid
Avoid. Not recommended. Bought a brand new laptop for 1249.99 pound Medion Erazer X7859 from Very.co.uk. After 60 days I got a black line on the screen. Very and Medion disagree for returns just repair. How it's possible, the screen is dead after 60 days. Rubbish.
Just waist my money 1250 pound.
Avoid this brand.
Useless Helpline
Now been on hold to Medions helpline for 20 minutes and still listening to how important my call is. MICROWAVE OVEN has broken down in warranty period. Bought from Aldi, they gave me the number to Medion which no one seems to answer. Keep away is my suggestion.
Medion akoya E1225 notebook PC
This was a nice little machine till the keyboard stopped working. unfortunately it appears that the only people I can get a replacement from is Medion but they don't have any. They go on about only using the best parts. I would settle for a standard part I could buy and fit. I now have to access the machine with a USB keyboard, great!
Dont buy Medion
Dont buy Medion! I bought an Erazer x7849 and I loved it and took better care of it than anything I have ever owned and after 2 years the spacebar and the windows key stopped working all of a sudden. I thought no problem I'll buy another one and they don't have ANY. It's probably 3 year old series and they don't have the f.cking spare keyboards anymore which I believe is ridiculous. For a high-end laptop I would expect minimum to have the parts for it for a few years in case anything goes wrong. Their customer service didn't help at all just said though sh.t sorry about that but it's discontinued.
DO NOT BUY Medion.
Medion recalled E5005
In the process of dealing with Medon who recalled my smartphone E5005 in Jan 2019, duly returned and they sent incorrect replacement eg lower specifications, not equilivant as promised. So complained and they acknowledged 5004 should never have been sent out as replacement for recalled phone,
So in Feb 2019 after several calls returned 5004 to be replaced, they said although their error phone needed to be returned before new replacement could be sent.
Confirmation email 4/3/2019 item received back by Me dion, however in spite of numerous calls and emails no response to update when replacement will be sent. Promises to call me back but no calls.
Left now with no phone and no responses from Medion, who recalled original item. Obviously Trading Standards need to be infirmed about this company and their k0lack of customer service.
Would never deal with this company again and advise others to avoid at all costs.
Avoid Medion products
I contacted Medion after my 18 month old laptop became unusable. I had a Three Year guarantee so thought it would not be a problem. When the laptop crashed I consulted the local computer repair company. They looked at it and said that the memory was so small and when Windows had automatically updated it had no rom on the memory so had wiped the computer clean using space where my photos and documents had been stored. Medion said they could reinstall Windows so I pointed out that the same would happen again. The computer was not fit for purpose. They refused to refund my money and said that as I had bought it from Aldi and not directly from them there was no 3 year guarante. They refused to let me speak to a senior person. I then got onto Aldi who were brilliant. Very polite and knowledgeable. Refunded my money. No problem. Avoid Medion at all cost. Well done Aldi.
AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!
AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!! Bought a Medion Auto XS battery charger from Aldi. What a mistake!! Continued to charge until 15.1v and boiled the battery dry. Basic design fault. No 12v charger should be designed to continue charging to 15.1v as these do. Even Medions Dutch technical centre described it as 'crazy'. Medion customer service in the UK appalling. Dutch call centre staff try to help, but are hamstrung by the fools in Swindon who just want to evade any responsibility for anything. Got some recompense from Aldi whose customer service puts Medions to shame. I'm still £16 out of pocket, but Medion not interested.
I suggest others AVOID Medion at all costs!
