The ring workshop was nice, educational and the instructor was helpful through the stages. But the workshop price wasn't as advertised.
Prices should be upfront and big so customers/clients are aware. No where was the entire workshop price written on the booking page. When I rechecked the website after the workshop, the pricing was written in a tiny font - it was very easy to miss or even overlook.
The situation about the pricing and finding out at the workshop was what dampened the experience for me.

I recently attended the silver clay workshop and, unfortunately, my experience did not meet expectations. Upon arrival, we were told this was their most “advanced” class, though this was not noted anywhere on the website. It would have been helpful to know this in advance as we may not have registered in the first place. The practice playdoh was nothing like the silver clay we had to work with in under 5 minutes.

The workshop space itself posed some challenges. A second class was happening at the same time, which made it difficult to hear instructions at times. The seating was quite uncomfortable, the room felt cramped, and there were no washrooms or handwashing facilities.

While the instructor provided initial guidance on sizing and shaping, we encountered several issues with the rings throughout the process. One ring came out far too large after the first firing, and although concerns were raised, they were not thoroughly addressed. We were told there was "no chance" it would shrink during the second firing. What happened though was they all shrunk significantly. The one that was too large now fit but the other two were too small to wear. Additionally, one ring developed a crack which they said could be soldered down the road but did not offer to do it while we were there even though they had the supplies and equipment available. One of the other rings had a gemstone pop out during firing.

Although staff attempted to resolve the situation, the communication around solutions and discounts felt inconsistent, which added to the frustration. We finally received a discount on only one ring.

Overall, I think the concept of the workshop is great, and it has potential to be a very enjoyable experience. However, in its current format, it feels more suitable for participants who already have prior experience with silver clay, or where more individualized instruction could be offered. Clearer expectations, better facilities, and more responsive support during the class would make a significant difference.

Promised my order for valentines day and it showed up two weeks late. When i returned the package, they never refunded me. Awful company with terrible service. Dont bother giving them a dime.

Meirako went above and beyond for me! I spent months trying to find somewhere to get a double sided pendant engraving with absolutely no luck. Then I found Meirako, and they could not have been more helpful and kind. There was an issue with the pendant when I received it, and they kindly let me return it to them for a replacement free of charge. Will absolutely use them again and recommend them to anyone!
