Q: What age is this kit suitable for? A: This V8 engine kit is designed for ages 10 and up. The complexity of the build and the number of parts make it an engaging project for older children, teens, and even adults who enjoy model building. Q: Does the engine actually run on petrol? A: This is a realistic, working model that simulates how a V8 engine operates, but it does not run on petrol or any other fuel. It's a safe, battery-powered kit that demonstrates the mechanical movements of an engine with lights and sounds. Q: Do I need any tools or glue to build it? A: No, everything you need to assemble the engine is included in the box. The parts are designed to snap together, so you won't need any special tools or glue to complete the build. Q: What's in the box, and will I need to buy anything else? A: The kit comes with all the plastic parts needed to build the V8 engine model, which is over 250 pieces. You will need to supply batteries separately to power the engine sounds and illuminating spark plugs. Q: How difficult is it to assemble? Would a 10-year-old need help? A: The kit is designed to be a rewarding challenge for its recommended age group of 10 and over. While the snap-together parts and detailed instructions make it straightforward, younger builders might enjoy tackling it as a fun project with an adult. Q: What does the augmented reality (AR) app do? A: The interactive augmented reality app is designed to enhance the building experience. It allows you to use your smartphone or tablet to see an exploded view of the engine and learn more about how the different parts work together. Q: Does the model have moving parts once it's built? A: Yes, once assembled, the model is designed to show the moving parts of a real V8 engine in action. This, combined with the realistic sounds and light-up spark plugs, gives a great demonstration of how the engine works.
