Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff. Very pleased with my purchase. Great value for money.

I called into the Millets store last year I saw a jacket advertised as be waterproof on looking at the jacket for £25.00 I was told it was not very waterproof , but a /£60.00 jacket was a lot more better quality and was better waterproofed , this turned out to be not only a waste of a visit to Millets but also of £60.00 paid this jacket lets in water like a sponge it is totally useless

Jack gave excellent advise, he was very knowledgeable of the products in store and understood what I was trying achieve with cold weather and waterproof clothing.

Very knowledgeable staff who went out of their way to make sure we got the kit we needed. Would highly recommend. Particular shout out to Darren who always makes sure you’ve got the right kit for you - regardless of how much it costs. We ended up with the cheapest rucksack because it was the one that fitted my son best. Just brilliant on every score.

Darren and Rob were super helpful in choosing the right pair of hiking boots and socks for my upcoming DofE gold. We didn’t feel rushed and had lots of time to try on different shoes. Darren gave us lots of advice and helped me pick the best pair of shoes given my walking style and previous injuries. We left feeling like we’d made an informed purchase. You could tell that the employees were honest, authentic and kind. Thank you for offering to fit my rucksack to my frame as well.

Darren at St Albans was excellent. When I told him I had no dispatch note after day 4 for our tent we had ordered online, he contacted another store himself and secured a second one, promising the refund the original of and when it arrived. Which he did. Summer holiday can now happen without any drama !

I needed a lightweight hiking bag. Cotswold outdoors had been no help at all so I crossed the road and went to Millets. Darren (a keen hiker) immediately understood the importance of a women having a bag that fitted comfortably rather than putting up with a man-sized bag and spent half an hour adjusting the straps and weight of two bags, watching me walk, checking how they felt. I ended up with a smashing backpack that fits well. I was so impressed I went back for trecking sandals and Sophie was really helpful, ascertaining the terrain I’d be walking on and conditions. Thank you both.

Thank you, Darren! Such a helpful person with expert knowledge of hiking in the mountains. He was able to advise on the equipment needed for the Tour de Mont Blanc and was able to fit my partner's backpack to ensure maximum comfort. He deserves bonus!
