I took my car in for an MOT and it failed. Having the car serviced a day earlier at another garage, I took it back to rectify the issue. The people who serviced the car made it clear that there was nothing wrong it and would have passed the MOT had they carried the test. I took the car back to National for a retest (without any changes/adjustments being made) and lo and behold it passed. The excuse I was given was that the service which was carried out needed time to "bed" in!!! A few hours of my life I will never get back - not to mention the stress. Never going back again.

What a waste of time.
Had one of my tyres destroyed and booked an appointment for replacement. Paid £510 and rescheduled my life and work around the basis that national tyres know what is talking about.
Came to the store to find the the person assigned to do the job is not at the premises at the moment.
Waited 30 minutes for the person to arrive only to find out that "the order hasn't gone through and the tyres are not in the building".
Now I have to reschedule my life, travel and work again to convenience national tyres again.
Appalling way of running a business.
What "the order hasn't gone through" even means?
I got SMS reminder for the appointment, receipt and my card was charged.
If they can't get this straight, how can I trust them with my and my family's life when doing something so important?
And who is going to pay for the day off work that YOU just made me waste?

National Tyres (owned by Halfords),fitted a replacement tyre to my van.
Due to an admitted fitting error (the inner wall got pinched), I had a blow-out 70 miles into France!

Over a year later I'm still trying to get my refund and some recompense for the cost of hotel I needed due to being stranded in France!
WILL NEVER BUY FROM NATIONAL TYRES OR HALFORDS AGAIN !

Absolutely disgusted with Halfords and National Tyres.

Hope this saves someone else from lots of trouble buying from un-caring companies.

The team were amazing. 20 minutes before closing they did an emergency tyre change which for us was the difference between getting to a family wedding or not. Thanks to them we had a great day at the wedding. And the price was really reasonable. Can't thank you enough. Highly recommended

If i could give zero i would. Booked for mobile tyre fitting... first time waited for 3 hours and they did not turn up. They rebooked for a week later and did not show up again.
Did not bother to tell me on either occasion.
I would add they knew this was being done not at my home address so I had to travel there.
Used a local supplier who was there in an hour and cheaper!!!

Paid for wheel balancing and tracking with a set of tyres but the garage said the price of the tyres already included the balancing, and they couldn’t do the tracking because they had a broken vehicle on the ramp. Was told I would be refunded but never was. Ignore emails and messages. Total con artists, avoid at all costs.

Good service from James and Matt will definitely be coming back for wheels next time I need them

Perfect service today kash was very polite and helpful also the tyre fitter tyrone was also very helpful would definitely recommend.

Had to cancel an appointment yesterday because the boys in Crewe took over three hours to change four tyres and align the front wheels. It was booked in for 9.30 so I thought I would be clear by 11.00 when I was told it should be ready. Returned then to see my car up on the ramp. Come back at 12.30 they said. Another 90 minutes to kill in Crewe. Apparently the ramp wasn't working. Totally believable except that I have heard that before at my local BMW garage. Have waited 24 hours before posting this to see if I would get any kind of acknowledgement about the dealer's discretionary 10% discount of the price I paid as compensation. Nothing yet. I was impressed at the online booking process and how easily it worked - to take my money. Pity it went downhill from there. When I arrived the manager looked at me and said two front tyres and alignment. Did he not get the order - four new tyres and alignment. What a shower !

PostScript edit: whether it was this post or purely timing but Halfords have today confirmed the 10% deduction on my bill. Would I rather have had my valuable time or £57. I still will not go back there again unless they get better management in the Crewe operation.

I bought a battery, paid for it, arranged fitting then received an email saying that they cant fit it as Halfords do the fitting for them and they cant use the battery as supplied by National. Will take 2 days for finance dept to process the refund and 8 days to return to my card! 10 days to give my money back though took it in 10 seconds!

They are the same company and why not ammend the website? Really happy to take money for services they cannot provide and leave people stranded! Some people are looking at prices and pick these charlatans as they are not in a position to pay vast sums and certainly not in a position to purchase two batteries at once. And I was avoiding Halfords as they recommended a battery that i purchased before and when they arrived they said it would not work and could only substitute it for a battery twice the price. So now they joined forces to rip ore people off!

Ive been using the garage on Marsh Lanein Preston for at least 10 years, and they are always knowledgable, friendly and really helpful. Would definitely recommend. Clare.

Harry at your Newcastle under Lyme branch is fantastic, needed MOT and repairs doing urgently, managed to get it all done on the same day and had my car back within hours. Brilliant

Excellent customer service from Josh and Brad.

Two members of the National Tyres/Halfords Group team in stratford on Avon deserve real credit for pulling out all the stops when I needed a punctured tyre replaced quickly.

After an RAC patrolman fitted my spare tyre, I visited my local National Tyres branch because I knew that, sadly, my local independent (which is superb) would be busy.
Trainee manager Josh was exceptional — friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. He talked me through my options, but when he realised I needed the tyre urgently for a long journey the following day and he didn’t have it in stock, he suggested I speak to his Branch Manager colleague, Brad, at the local Halfords branch nearby.

Brad was excellent too. He worked behind the scenes then with Josh over the phone to find a solution and arranged for the correct tyre to be available for fitting first thing the next morning, provided I could get my car to National Tyres for 8.30am.

When I arrived, the team was ready and waiting, and I was even able to enjoy a coffee while the tyre was fitted.

There was a lovely bonus too — Josh checked my account and discovered I was eligible for a credit towards the new tyre. As a Halfords member, he also ensured I received a further discount, making the final bill considerably better than expected.

I was delighted to be able to give my feedback directly to their Regional Manager, who happened to be visiting both branches that day.

I notice that both National Tyres and Halfords get terrible reviews. The way Josh and Brad worked together, despite being based in two branches just half a mile apart, to resolve my problem and get my tyre fitted as a priority was exactly what great customer service should look like. This is about good, simple service: Thank you, Josh and Brad.

Excellent service and fitted me in for tyre check and replaced caps all for free. Great assistance by Matt at Newton le willows. I always go there as it’s reliable

I have used this company for years and I was, once again, delighted with the way that Joe dealt with me. I had a little bit of nonsense with the internet booking whereby it sold me the wrong tyres for the vehicle. I phoned Joe, and he immediately re ordered the correct ones so as to honour my appointment. I then received a call from him to say he could do the job earlier so I have just returned home Friday with new tyres fitted and don’t have to spend Saturday morning getting them done. I hear that Joe is soon to move on from the company and I can safely say he will be sadly missed. Not only efficient but courteous, kind and thoughtful when it comes down to giving a great service.

Fast assistance for charity walk.
Big Shout out to Ozzy at Blackpool Road National tyres. We were on our last day of our 3 day Halifax to Blackpool Walk4Naomi, Naomi Cheri Gough Foundation, when we experienced a bad puncture. Being one of the support vehicles we needed to get back on the road to monitor our Walkers ageing from 8 to 73 years. Ozzy had us in within 10 minutes. Repair done, tyre pressure on all wheels checked, water, oil and windscreen wash, checked; although it had been done prior to setting off; in 30 minutes.
He and his work colleague were so friendly, supportive, respectful and kind. Especially after asking what the charity and Walk4Naomi was about. Made our day as I was worried we’d not be able to get it done quick enough. Highly recommended. What a great set of guys.

Review on behalf of my father in law, as it was his tyres that needed replacing.

I came across this company after googling through a few different ones and even a couple tyre comparison websites for quotes for all 4 tyres. National Tyres Autocare came out ontop!!

Using their website was simple, and from searching for Tyres to fit, to getting a quote, and booking was a breeze. They even had a decent discount code which was even better for the overall total cost.

Got an 8am-1.30pm booking for a Saturday, and the Tyre Fitter (unfortunately I didnt get his name) arrived for 9.30am and was done within 45mins. He was Quick, Efficient, Tidy and looked like a happy chap. If you manage to see this review, you did a fantastic job and father in law is happy!

Will definitely use this company again!!
