Minimum £200 Trade-In
When looking for a new chair or bed, an ongoing concern for many prospective customers is what to do with their existing furniture. The disposal can often be expensive and time-consuming and tends to add to the burden of finding the right company to choose. Thankfully, at Oak Tree Mobility we offer an exclusive service that allows you to trade in whatever it is that needs replacing, at no charge whatsoever. In fact, we are now offering our customers a minimum of £200 part exchange for their existing items, regardless of the condition.
Proudly Supporting the British Heart Foundation
When we deliver your brand new chair or bed, we’ll collect your furniture at the same time. Doing the delivery and collection in one visit saves you time and hassle. Once your furniture has been collected and returned to our depot, we’ll check it over. If it’s reusable, we’ll donate it to the British Heart Foundation. They will then sell it in one of their many shops throughout the UK and use the proceeds to fund their life-saving research. In doing this, we have so far raised over £250,000!
Delivery and Installation Included
We offer a two-man white-glove delivery and installation service included in the price of all our chairs and beds. When they arrive, they will ask you where you would like your furniture to be placed. They will bring the chair or bed into your home, unwrap it, and then remove all the packaging. Once it is set up, they will help you familiarise yourself with the bed and its controls. When you are satisfied that everything is as it should be, we will ask you to complete a quick survey about our service.

Arrival at crack of dawn

So far very happy with chair. However not happy with delivery. Had phone call to say delivery 7.30 which i thought was very early. Monday evening got call from delivery driver to say they would arrive between 6 and 6.30. Being both elderly and disabled as many of your customers must be I think this timing is ridiculous. I didn’t go to bed but dozed on settee. They finally arrived 6.40.

Callum and Dan, perfect delivery men!

Callum and Dan were most efficient, thorough and extremely careful in delivering my new chair to my upstairs flat today and removing the old one. It was speedily assembled and meticulously checked over.
Callum explained clearly how the controls worked and encouraged me to operate them myself. The demonstration of the controls operating the heat and massage unit was particularly useful as they are new to me.
They couldn’t have been more helpful.
A cheerful and engaging pair: they are a great credit to the company.

I sent this complaint to Oak Tree


Update 24th March: I have now received a full refund and an apology from Oak Tree as well as vouchers in compensation, which we have accepted.

I sent this complaint to Oak Tree Customer Services on Monday 16th March. They have not even bothered to acknowledge it! I warned them that I would be taking to social media to let others know about my experience so here goes...

On 17th Feb 2026 I contacted your customer services team about the handset for my mother's riser-recliner chair which was not working. The chair was stuck half way in the riser position.
Due to us not having updated you our account was still based on our old address (DL5). I provided our new postcode (T|S15) and an order was placed for a new handset, for which I paid £72.00. I was told it would take up to 2 weeks to arrive.
Approx 15 minutes after this call I realised that I had not provided our full new address so phoned back and provided the address (TS15). I asked that you make sure the handset would be delivered to the correct, new, address and was assured that it would be.
When we had not received the handset by Weds 4th March I called back to see what was happening, only to be told that Royal Mail had returned the parcel to you as it was refused by the recipient on 21st February! I can assure you that Royal Mail made no attempt to deliver it to us at our new address - which I was assured was the only address on your system for our account. I asked for it to be resent and again requested confirmation that it would be sent to our new address (TS15). I was again assured that this would be done. I was also told that I would be sent an email with the Royal Mail tracking number as soon as it was available. I'm still waiting for this email!
On Tuesday 10th March I received an email (copy attached) informing me of what I had already been told 6 days earlier - that the handset had been refused and returned to you. I called Customer Services - yet again - to ask for clarification that this email was referring to the first time the handset had been sent out. I was told that it did and you had only just received confirmation from the manufacturers that they had received the handset back. Why it took 18 days from the "recipient" refusing delivery to you getting conformation is beyond me. I was again assured that the handset would be sent out again and I would be emailed a tracking number. Once again I am still waiting for this.
I have just got off the phone with your Customer Services team having been told that for some reason my account is still under the old postcode, so I can only assume that you have AGAIN sent the handset to the wrong address. When I asked for a refund I was told that this would take up to 14 days to process. THIS IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH! You can take my money immediately but when you screw up so royally you expect me to wait another 2 - 3 weeks to get my money back. I don't want your handset, I have one from Amazon that cost £15.00 - less than a quarter of what you charge - and it works just fine.
Throughout all of this my mother has been unable to use her chair resulting in her getting sciatica, badly swollen feet and blisters on her legs. She is in considerable pain and having to take additional medications.
If I don't receive an immediate full refund, an official apology and compensation I will be taking to Social Media to let the world know just how bad your customer service is.

That said, we want to apologise again for the experience you’ve had, sincerely. The series of errors around your address details, the failed delivery, and the lack of timely communication are not acceptable and fall well short of the service we aim to provide. We also want to acknowledge the impact this had on your mother. We’re truly sorry for the discomfort and distress caused during this time.

While this situation came down to a genuine mistake, we fully recognise that there were multiple opportunities for us to put things right sooner, and we didn’t act quickly enough. We are reviewing this internally to ensure better handling of address updates and clearer communication moving forward.

The sale agent Paul Leonard was excellent

The sale agent was a credit to the company and his knowledge of his product was exceptional. The attention to detail was a credit to the company and the fact that a fully working chair was available to sit in and also they measured the specifications to suit the size of each individual.
Would recommend this product to anyone.
