Omlet - more than a mess !

I have just completed the assembly of a 4 x4 x3 walk in chicken coop. I have never experienced such poor instructions or lack of product identification. A classic example is the various clips that hold the coop together ( Well nearly ). The numbers on the packets are not the same as the numbers on the instructions so you have to keep referring to the product identification chart in the beginning of the book. Life could be made easier by labelling all of the metal parts and taking the guesswork out of what fits where. The online video makes everything look easy. Think about this when you're trying to put the middle roof supports up and the outer roof supports keep disconnecting themselves. The video is filmed on a completely flat floor, with no wind or any other form of disruption, how many of us are putting up our coops in a completely flat garden or paddock ? You have to put insulation tape around the outer roof support joints just to keep them together long enough to get the roof on. To be honest, my cat could write a more intelligent set of instructions than your company has produced. I'm sure that Omlet will come back with their usual pathetic excuses about ' high volume of calls ' etc - try employing some more staff. Your excuses are beginning to wear thin with anyone who has been on the receiving end of them. Fortunately, my clients didn't order an automatic door !

If I could have given you no stars, I would.

Nice product. Dreadful customer service

Omlet ticket number: 188064
I purchased an Omlet Auto Door for my wooden hen coop in 2019. It has worked perfectly until recently, when I realised the door was stuck in the open position. I checked for obstructions and changed the batteries, but no luck. I contacted Omlet via the contact form on the website nearly one month ago. As of today, I have sent them twelve emails, and they have sent me six...and my coop door is still stuck open! As others have said, it is pointless advertising a phone number on the website which, when you call, tells you to email them! My hopes are raised upon receipt of an email from them...I do what they suggest, and email them back advising that the door is still stuck open, and then wait another few days before they reply again. This is such an inefficient way to run a customer service system. Companies should not sell products that might need after-care, if they are not prepared to offer an appropriate level of support. On the 9th April I suggested that if only we could have a video call, I could be at the coop and we could, together, diagnose what might be wrong. Amazingly, I had a positive response to this and 'Adam' (who I am now convinced is a bot) offered to arrange a time to call. He offered to call me on 13th April and I made myself available all day - he didn't call. He emailed to apologise and agreed to call me today, 17th April at 3pm. He didn't call. I simply don't know what else to do.
I've just re-read a leaflet that came with the door that says "If you have any queries, don't hesitate to email or call Omlet's fantastic customer service team who will be happy to help" That is not my experience!
If anyone from Omlet is reading this, the very least you could do is offer me a refund for the hassle and wasted time you have caused me, and I will take my business elsewhere.

Awful service

Miserabler Kundenservice

Ich habe innerhalb von einer Stunde zwei Bestellungen getätigt, welche gegen Vorauszahlung beglichen werden sollten. Habe anschliessend den Kundenservice kontaktiert und um Zusammenfassung der beiden Bestellungen gebeten. Die Vorauszahlung in der Höhe von über EUR 4'500 habe ich vorgenommen und die Lieferkosten einmal überwiesen. Der Kundendienst war nicht in der Lage, die beiden Bestellungen zusammen zu fassen. Als Antwort kam ein KI generierter Text von einem KI Bot. Über die Hotline in Deutschland war niemand erreichbar, ob da überhaupt jemand arbeitet, ist äusserst fraglich. Aufgrund dieser negativen Erfahrung habe ich die Bestellungen dann beide storniert und warte seit über einer Woche auf die Rückerstattung meiner Vorauszahlung - bisher vergeblich. Zwischenzeitlich wurde ich von verschiedenen "Mitarbeitern" via Mail kontaktiert, was nicht zielführend war. Eine direkte Antwort auf Anfragen erhält man keine. Absolut nicht zu empfehlen!

Changé votre transporteur

j’ai payé 12€50 la livraison, le livreur de votre transporteur ne s’est jamais présenté et ne m’a pas contacté après que je l’ai attendu depuis 9h15, il est 13h15 et au final il me l’a déposé au bout de la ville , je suis a pied et j’ai du à mal a me déplacé ! C’est de l’abus des trucs pareil ! Honte à votre service de transport ! Ca mérite -5 étoiles ! Du coup le colis va gentillement retourné d’ou il vient !

Expérience catastrophique + données bancaires par téléphone

Expérience catastrophique.
On me demande par mail d’appeler pour “sécuriser” une commande déjà payée… en transmettant des informations de carte bancaire par téléphone. Pratique totalement inacceptable en 2026.
Premier problème : j’appelle pendant les horaires indiqués → lignes fermées.
Deuxième problème : quand j’arrive enfin à les joindre, on m’annonce que l’appel est enregistré, tout en me demandant des données bancaires. Aucune transparence sur l’usage de ces enregistrements. Très inquiétant. Soit disant l'argent est bloqué entre les banques mais mon compte est bien débité et Omlet se doit d'honorer ma commande.
Troisième problème : refus total de proposer une alternative sécurisée (3D Secure, lien de paiement, validation bancaire…). C’est soit donner ses infos au téléphone, soit rien.
Résultat : refusant de prendre un risque évident, ma commande est tout simplement annulée.
On est face à des pratiques dépassées, potentiellement dangereuses, et un service client incapable de proposer une solution conforme aux standards actuels de sécurité.

We bought the Eglu Pro

We bought the Eglu Pro, Mesh Run and a Automatic door. Overpriced trash. The process of building it took 7 days total because of the unclear, unnecessary amount instructions and how fiddly and ridiculous the process of putting it together was.

The run is complete nonsense and was a pain to put together, you connect it using tiny clips which are difficult to use and barely hold the flimsy mesh together and the automatic door hasn't worked once yet. Our chickens aren't kept near our house and every night we have to go across to them, a 10 minute walk, and shut it.

We bought the auto door thinking it would work wonders and we wouldn't have to put them to bed every night but for what the whole setup cost, near £2000, its pathetic.

There were parts missing of our order and incorrect parts sent. The chickens don't even like the plastic tat that is the house because of the scratchy sound it makes when they walk around inside.

No spill chicken feeder

I received my no spill chicken feeder today and it was broken with the screws missing to attach the legs. A very complicated assembly process and a massive wait for delivery.

The warranty seems pretty worthless

The warranty seems pretty worthless.
We bought a full coop set up including a run and auto door last year. Well over £1500. The Smart Auto door has repeatedly failed and not died altogether at less than a year old. It jammed closed and wouldn’t open at all. So the poor hens were stuck in. Then it jammed open. Then it gave up the ghost altogether.
I’ve contacted Omlet and stated that we have repeatedly reset. Was immediately told that I couldn’t send it back but they would offer support. Then no reply.
Called , to receive a recorded message saying they are prioritising e mails.
Social media don’t take comments.
How can you support customers if you won’t speak to them?
I’m now £200 down with no auto door and it is causing maximum inconvenience and risk to my flock.

As your order is now outside that guarantee period, we advised that a return for refund was not possible. Bad Customer Service

They sent me an email to call them, and when you call you are told to send an email!

Friesian hens

I purchased 2 Friesian hens from Christine Fuller in Kent. She had advertised them on the Omlet website.
Contacting her was easy and quick. Christine was happy to hold on to the hens until I had arranged transportation.
She also provided a box, food and water for the long journey to Scotland at no extra charge. The hens arrived in good condition. We’re very happy with them.

Unreliable tech and a safety risk—not fit for purpose

I bought an autodoor system for accessibility and peace of mind as a disabled keeper, but it has been a nightmare. The Autodoor is fundamentally unreliable; even my replacement unit gives false "Safe/Open" notifications when it's actually stuck, and there is no low-battery warning, which has repeatedly left my chickens trapped.

The door regularly reports being "blocked" when the tracks are completely clear, and it then enters an infinite loop of opening and closing. I’ve had to manually override it or recalibrate it constantly, which defeats the entire purpose of an automated system.

Customer service took weeks to respond initially. While they eventually replaced the unit under warranty, the exact same software and hardware faults are happening again. If you value your flock’s safety and need a "Smart" system you can actually trust for accessibility, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere. This product is simply not fit for purpose.

happy experience

nice website, easy to navigate, lots of nice product photos and dimension details. quick delivery and painless returns.

Fantastic automatic door for chicken coop

Fantastic automatic door for chicken coop. Easy to install, great quality & easy to use. It makes life so much easier & keeps our chickens safe.

Bought a walk in run & it rusted

Bought a walk in run & it rusted. They replaced it as they said it shouldn’t do that. This one has rusted too. A lot of money for something not fit for purpose. The holes in the panels should be smaller too due to Avian flu. Birds can get in so I had to cover it all with mesh.
