No notification of annual renewal - Beware

I signed up for the annual membership 1 year ago, apparently with a discount for continued membership. My card was charged 5 days ago with no prior notification for renewal, and there has been no communication from the company other than "Due to the volume of emails..." we cannot respond...
It is a commonly accepted good business practice to notify people of upcoming renewals - the lack of communication is commonly used by shady internet companies that are more interested in revenue than people. I can't recommend this organization.

I feel scammed

I feel scammed. I purchased the lifetime subscription with one goal, I wanted to stay up to date with Mimi Kuo Deemer’s courses in Qigong. Now six months later, I am blocked from her most current course, only to find out my choice of deeper learning has hit yet another pay wall. Even worse, to access this course, the only option seems to be re-purchasing the entire subscription? (Which I have already purchased) The Commune content has quality instructors, but they assume everyone is just skimming around all the areas of content. If deeper learning is your goal, don’t expect that included in your lifetime subscription, which is what I thought I was getting.

Constant spamming. I've never heard of them or signed up for anything. They email constantly and no matter how many times I report it, the spamming continues.

Endless spam emails

I've lost count how many times I've unsubscribed from their stupid emails, and yet they STILL find a way to enter my in box. Super glad I never signed up for a course, it would've been like signing my life away apparently. Shame on you, onecommune, stop spamming me.

This is a critical warning about Commune's systemic exploitation of its customers. My experience reveals a two-tiered scheme that begins with a predatory charge and is upheld by exploitative negligence, in stark contrast to their public branding.

The Two-Pronged Strategy:

The Predatory First Strike: The Unauthorized Charge.
Despite my explicit email cancellation a day before the charge, Commune withdrew money from my account without authorization. This is not a glitch; it is the core of their model. They ensnare customers by ignoring cancellation requests. Countless users are likely charged month after month for content they do not use, completely unbeknownst to them, because they trusted a platform that brands itself as a "conscious, connected, and compassionate" community.

The Exploitative Negligence: The Policy of "You Eat the Loss."
For the small percentage who do notice and demand a refund, Commune unveils its policy of exploitative negligence. If you are an international client, the refund process incurs non-refundable exchange fees. Commune, having caused this situation, simply shrugs and lets you bear the loss. This is not an oversight; it is a calculated part of their business model where the customer is always the one who pays for the company's mistakes.

Let's be clear: these are not errors. The initial unauthorized charge is predatory, and the refusal to make international customers whole is exploitative negligence. It is especially unfortunate to see esteemed ethical speakers like Dr. Gabor Maté associated with this platform. His work on integrity and trauma stands in direct opposition to Commune's practices, which ultimately besmirch the reputations of the very experts they feature.

On their website, Commune speaks of being a "trusted resource," fostering "personal transformation," and building "a world rooted in compassion and connection." Their actions show the opposite:

Predatory Billing: A business model reliant on unauthorized charges.

Exploitative Negligence: A calculated policy to shift the financial consequences of their actions onto the customer.

Zero Integrity: Preying on an audience seeking genuine growth, using the language of transformation as a cynical sales tactic.

Key Warning:

Your cancellation is likely ignored. Document everything. Assume you will be charged.

International customers are double-targeted. You are at risk of the initial unauthorized charge and will be forced to absorb the permanent financial loss from exchange fees that Commune's actions trigger.

They refuse all accountability. Their branding is a mask for a corporation that will not stand behind its mistakes.

Do not trust this company. Spend your money and time with organizations that truly embody the ethics they promote.

No Business Ethics!

Yes, the courses were amazing and the business strategies con artist. Leadership /owner designed the website to omit a cancellation option. Emailing and the 7-day refund comes with an auto response that states “due to high volume.” Dog whistle code for we are not responsible or responding. A get your money and hope you go away strategy; thus, the NEGATIVE review!

The courses are outstanding, and the customer service is exceptional. I’ve been a member for years and recently upgraded to a Lifetime Membership since I frequently attend many of their yoga classes. Whenever I’ve had questions or needed assistance, the team has always been warm, responsive, and accommodating

Great courses and excellent customer…

Great courses and excellent customer service. I've been a member for years and recently signed up as a Lifetime Member as I regularly visit many of the yoga courses they offer. When I've reached out with questions or an issue, they have always been warm, responsive and accommodating.

Disgusted and alarmed…

I initially signed up to watch a video featuring Dr Gabor Maté last year. As they emailed about signing up to a membership, I thought I’d give it a go. But then didn’t used it at all during the whole of last year. Their other videos just didn’t sufficiently interest me. And then I forgot all about them till I saw they were trying to renew annual membership and take a further £111.99 from my credit card. I immediately got in touch via email on 19 July. On the 20th, they replied saying that they will cancel my membership and issue a refund. But they also offered me the chance to convert it to a lifetime membership instead. I immediately declined the offer and opted to continue with my original request of a cancellation and refund. Since then, despite further emails and a couple of postings on X, the company has completely ghosted me and failed to refund my £111.99

I love the content and variety

I love the content and variety. There is something for everyone here and Commune offers personal growth in multiple areas of your life… physical, mental, and social. I wish I had more time because there is so much to do and learn here, but it’s wonderful knowing I can come back and pick up where I left off whenever it’s convenient for me. The community of like-minded individuals as well as prompt and courteous Customer service has been very helpful. I would have given it five stars, I just wish it was available on more platforms other than Roku and Apple TV as I have neither of those and I would like to use this on a larger screen like my TV or laptop, or even to have the capability to cast to the TV.
Hopefully that will change soon. Other than that, I am enjoying yoga courses, and I look forward to doing courses in breath work, meditation, and with Dr Gabor Maté. Commune has truly pulled together the best of the best and it’s so awesome to have the opportunity to have access to all of these teachers in one place!

“There are more false gurus on earth…

“There are more false gurus on earth than there are visible stars in the night sky “. And commune is full of false gurus. I canceled my subscription when they switched from wanderlust and the continue to charge me monthly. The don’t answer the phone, don’t return calls or emails. DO NOT SUPPORT THESE FRAUDSTERS.

Auto renewed without notice and now wont refund

One Commune auto renewed a membership at $150. I contacted to cancel and request a refund which they agreed to but they have not processed this and now don't respond to emails. I believe I am one of many with the same complaint.
