There is no notification on the website…

There is no notification on the website that the item you are ordering is on Backorder. So you will find yourself waiting for fabric that they do not even have. This is a common problem with this store and the reason I cancelled my order 03/11/2026 (Canceled 04/01/2026).

NEVER order from this company

NEVER order from this company. I received a gift card for Christmas. Placed my order. Only received part of it. Was told through many emails that the rest was on backorder. After 2.5 months, found out the remaining order had been deleted because it timed out so I had to reorder. They hadn't refunded my gift card. Waited for that. Was told today that it should work. It doesn't. PLUS, they expect me to pay ANOTHER $15 in shipping plus tax that I paid for in the very beginning. Out of the fabric that I did receive, the gingham is paper thin and a different fabric was not even cotton! When I told Andrew (customer service) he said there was nothing he could do about it - they have to list what the manufacturer said. BS! I suspect this is a one-man-band website who is ripping people off.

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service. Ordered fabric, was supposed to be delivered four days later. Never received shipping or tracking information. Called store. They said the fabric was not available and would ship when they received it! I canceled the order on the spot. called weekly for over four weeks and still did not receive the credit of over $250! Called again and asked to speak to the supervisor. They told me there was no one I could speak to and hung up on me this was the final call on 2/17/2026

Disappointing First-Time Experience

As someone who regularly orders fabric from other stores, including Spoonflower, this was my first time ordering from OnlineFabricStore, and the experience was disappointing.

I placed an order on 11/29/25 (Order #1742218). After weeks with no shipping update, I contacted customer service and was told one item (fleece) was on back-order. I never received a back-order notification, and the item showed in stock at the time of purchase.

Not all items in my order were fleece, yet the entire order was held instead of shipping the in-stock items. I needed those items for a time-sensitive project, and the lack of communication caused a significant inconvenience.

Because of this, I had no choice but to cancel the entire order. Compared to my experiences with other fabric retailers, this level of service fell short.

Received my order in days, no complaints

After reading the reviews on this online store, I proceeded with caution. They had a print I wanted for a reupholstery project. First I called them to make sure my fabric was in stock, and that they had the amount I needed. Yup! And the person answering the phone was very nice. I placed my order on the 18th, and it arrived moments ago (the 21st). After checking the quality of fabric (twill), I decided to write this review. Some people complained about their fabric being on backorder, or something to that effect. Just call them first and make sure what you want is in stock before placing an order, especially with so many negative reviews versus mine.

Backorders Only

I cannot remember the last time I made an order from this vendor where they didn't put a portion of my order on an indefinite backorder and eventually forced me to cancel the remainder of the order after waiting for months. They are an unreliable source of fabric due to being a complete failure at inventory management.

This is a joke of an online retailer

This is a joke of an online retailer. With the closing of Joann I have tried to find another source for 3" high density foam.

Having ordered from them before and having to cancel the order because they couldn't fulfill it, I reluctantly decided to try them again.

I ordered a big slab of foam on 8/29. By Sep 11, I had no tracking, no product and no communication.

My dread of calling their "customer support" was well founded. The phone was answered by an unhelpful and surly operator who explained their policy was to notify you when it was back in stock. Totally ridiculous, leaving me to wonder when and if it is coming for who knows how long. I cancelled my second and last order from them.

Not trusting them, I called my credit card to make sure the charge was cancelled. To their credit, the charge had not been made yet.

I am done with onlinefabricstore.com .

BUYERS BEWARE – SHOCKINGLY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE & BROKEN PROMISES!

I placed an international order with Online Fabric Store, paid an expensive shipping fee, and received the wrong color. I immediately sent photos and proof of their mistake. At first, they offered to either refund or send the correct product — I chose the replacement, expecting a professional resolution.

That’s when the radio silence began. Days turned into weeks, every reply from them introduced a new excuse, delay, or limitation. My clear instructions were ignored, my follow-up messages unanswered, and what started as a simple error spiraled into a masterclass in how to alienate a paying customer.

This order has not only wasted my money but also jeopardized my own client deadlines. Their conduct shows zero accountability and complete disregard for customer satisfaction.

If you value your time, money, and sanity — stay away. There are countless fabric suppliers who do honor their word. This one is not among them.

Terrible customer service

Terrible, terrible service… I ordered from them because they advertised a faster delivery time for the very pricey velvet that I wanted within a month…. Over a thousand dollars, months later, I’m still waiting and they are not returning calls or emails. Trying to decide what action to take against them. I do not recommend this company.

Sew far, NO GOOD

I purchased 4 yards of a fabric I thought I could use. It did NOT match description, so I called, and was pleasedthat I could return it. Customer service person emailed me a return label, which I printed out and re-packaged the item, returned it, kept track of the tracking number, and noted that they had received it within a week's time.
Well, that was back at the end of March! Meanwhile, I went back to this online store, and purchased a sample of another fabric, heavier, better suited to my purpose. NEVER received it. Or my
refund!
After a month, I called their customer service department again, asked about my refund AND my paid-for sample. They claimed to have 'processed' the refund and were 'awaiting an authorization' to do it 🤔 and were going to resend another sample because I never got the first one.
About a week later, I decided to go ahead, with NO sample received yet, and order the fabric that I needed for the work I needed to do, in order to repair a director's chair covering for my 90-something parents, for their patio. A beloved item, which they trusted in me to repair, and myself, in turn trusting this untrustworthy shop,
Fast forward to today, past the middle of June, just got the sample finally, last week!
Still NO refund, NO new, paid for fabric order.
Fool me once, shame on you;
Fool me twice, shame on me....
STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!
I believe they will tell you anything and DUPE you about everything!
Now, I am out by nearly $75, plus I cannot complete my project for my very elderly parents.
As a senior, also, and also on a fixed income, I find this store's lack of caring and irresponsibility particularly annoying and far worse than MY bad choice to buy from them three times.
SHAME ON YOU!!!
It may not be YOUR money or care, but I'm NOT a millionaire or a politician with inside trading links.

I ordered 9 yards of silk

I ordered 9 yards of silk, 9 yards of lining fabric, and 1 yard of decorator fabric on 4/6/2025. I was charged $227.70 for all items, taxes and shipping. The items were shipped from different fulfillment houses, but I never received notice of shipping. I was charged the full $227.70 on 4/6. Then again, I was charged $159.47 on 4/15. I had to write them asking for status update on each of the second and third parts of the purchase. I just noticed that I was charged AGAIN on 5/3 for another $45.18, making my total charges $432.35 for a $227 purchase. I've contacted OnlindFabricStore numerous times inquiring about the charges and was told they were pending, that they would "drop away" after shipment. I've now finally received all three items but the charges have not dropped away. My call again today produced totally rude response and they told me to contact my bank. I would never buy from this company again, and I would not recommend anyone else to. I've twice sent copies of my credit card charges clearly showing the overcharges, spent inordinate amount of time trying to resolve, with only frustration.

Only received part of my order impossible to get in touch

Only received part of my order. I have been trying to get in touch with someone. I called twice 1 call I waited 45min, the other 20. I emailed tried to live chat but that just brings you to an email page. Do not buy from this site. I am going to cancel the credit card charge hopefully someone might reach out then.

Horrendous customer service

Horrendous customer service, incredible attitude from their phone reps. Took my order, charged my card, then a day later cancelled it without warning. No apologies. When pressed for a reasonable explanation, they blamed their computer system then said "maybe you should just buy from another company...." So I did. never again...

Unable to fill backorders

Partial order received, but backordered items still not available after five months. I asked if I could return what I had received and cancel the backorder and was told yes. When I asked to go ahead and initiate a return, I was told that I could not return the items I had received because it had been more than 30 days. I explained that the only reason I was returning was because they were unable to completely fill the order. That's when they stopped responding to me.

OnlineFabricStore Duplicates Charges and Ignores Refund Requests

I received a duplicate charge for a fabric order. I was charged $122.96 on 10/8/2024 and submitted a screenshot of my account to OnlineFabricStore verifying my payment. Two items on this purchase, which I paid for at that time, were backordered. I received a second unauthorized charge of $38.67 on 11/1/2024. This was a duplicate charge. I contacted OnlineFabricStore many, many times, asking for a refund of the duplicate charge, $38.67. OnlineFabricStore repeatedly ignores my communications.

You may or may not get your fabric

I placed an order on 5/25. Product page indicates fabric is in stock (and still does). Reached out to them on 6/14, was told the fabric was on backorder and that I should've received a backorder notification by email. I did not. Was told they expected the fabric on 6/28.

Still waiting, I reached out to them on 7/4 by email; 4 days later I received a nearly identical email saying I should've received a backorder notification by email (I did not) and that they expect to receive it by 7/12.

NOTHING in my order details on the website nor on the product page indicates the product is on backorder. Yet, they were happy to charge my card, make me wait over a month with zero communication and still no product for my money.

Ended up calling to cancel my order.

This is my first experience with OnlineFabricStore.com - it was not a good one.

Stay away

Took awhile to receive our order. Fabrics were shoved tight into plastic envelope that arrived filthy. Envelope had a slit which exposed part of the fabric since it didn't have any protection. We contacted CS and got an i'll let shipping know. One of the fabrics had a manufacturing defect that was not apparent until after upholstering. We contacted them and were told it was customer's responsibility to check for "issues" within 30 days and before fabric was cut. A good company would not weasel out of selling defective merchandise in the first place by putting responsibility on the customer to do quality check for them. Shameless.
