Fermeture éclair des bottes de mauvaise qualité
La fermeture éclair de mes bottes Empire en cuir Perko est de piètre qualité : elle s’est décousue et coincée rapidement, un défaut clairement lié à la fabrication. Le service client refuse toute prise en charge, invoquant des fibres trouvées dans un repli de la fermeture à un autre endroit (fibres provenant de la doublure!), une légère déformation du talon (due à la finesse du cuir!) et un supposé manque d’entretien (du au fait que je laisse le cuir patiner naturellement), qui n’ont strictement aucun lien avec le problème. Je suis très déçu par la qualité du produit et la réponse incohérente du service client.

We took this matter seriously — we arranged the collection of the boots at our own cost and carried out a thorough, careful inspection. Our findings showed that the zipper failure was the result of mechanical damage caused by excessive strain, rather than a manufacturing defect. Additionally, fibers were found lodged in the zipper mechanism, which suggests it may have repeatedly caught on fabric or another material over time — a common cause of zipper damage that is unrelated to product quality. The threads found in the zipper were different color and fabric than the lining. Lining is made of and was not reaching into the zipper.
We use YKK zippers across our footwear — widely regarded as the industry's gold standard — so we are confident in the quality of the component itself.
Our warranty covers manufacturing defects exclusively. It does not extend to mechanical damage, even when that damage is accidental and unintentional. This is a standard warranty condition that applies across the industry.
