Words cannot possibly express how grateful we are to Olivia and her wonderful team when sadly our cat Blake was involved in an rta on our estate eight weeks ago.
There is no doubt in our minds that had it not of been for their quick thinking and care he would not have been with us now.
Whilst Blake may not be their patient, Olivia and her team were 200% invested in him from his admittance and onward care (he had to go to Lumbry Park a specialist orthopaedic animal hospital in Alton since he had broken his pelvis in two places) for a blood transfusion and serious surgery.
It was so lovely to take him back last Friday for Blake to personally thank them in person. He enjoyed lots of cuddles and fusses.
Olivia and team, you are the true confirmation that not all superheroes wear capes and for whom we will be forever grateful. Our heartfelt thanks. Blake, Tash and Nick xxx

All about the money and not animal welfare. Did not owe any money and had to cancel DD as no funds for two months. Again no monies owed. Guess what 2 months later booked an appointment after their guidance but they created a debt of 70 pounds after clearly owing no money and starting again. I am not the only individual on Isle of Wight who has suffered this clown circus. Don't bother complaining it goes straight back to the clown who has no clue. Sleep well you lot creating debt and creating animal suffering? Clowns

We had to say goodbye to our darling boy Gus recently and Bethany and the staff at Pet Doctors in Rustington were so kind and caring and made an incredibly hard situation more bearable.

We took our dog to the (healthy dog club)6 monthly check up she was perfectly healthy. I asked the nurse to cut her do claw ,when she was clipping my dog gave a loud yelp and pulled her leg away .after we left our dog had a limp .we kept her in for a couple of days but she was still limping. So I called the PET DOCTOR AS CHICHESTER to check her paw out i asked for a free appointment as our dog had no problems until their nurse had clipped her do claw and hurt my dog .
They were totally uncooperative and refused to.take responsibility for causing my dogs limp.
It cost me 74 pounds to see their vet Who was amazing , it turned out the do claw was snapped off under her paw ans she just pulled it out .
I took a healthy pet to.them and the nurse harmed my pet with the clipping of her paw
Very disappointed with their lack of after care and taking responsibility for their mistake 😞

Brilliant experience at Pet Doctors Felpham. Very knowledgeable with rabbit Spey procedure. Rabbit came through the anaesthetic beautifully in their care and is recovering well. Thank you everyone!

Also a fab experience the following day when my daughter took in an injured pigeon that she found while cycling home from school, and they helped her with it. In my opinion, this vets goes above and beyond. 🌟

I had a deeply disappointing experience with Newport Pet Doctors. I took in an injured baby pigeon and was initially told the injury wasn’t serious and that he just needed antibiotics.

The next day, I was told he had survived and gone to a sanctuary, but no one could tell me which one. Despite phoning multiple times over several weeks and being promised updates, I was repeatedly fobbed off, given inconsistent information, and never received the promised call-backs.

Eventually, I was told that because he was “not my pet,” they didn’t have to update me. Yet I had offered to pay for his care, which was declined. At one point I was told he had gone to Skippers, only for that to be changed again to say he had passed away. The lack of transparency, accountability, and honesty has left me with no confidence in their handling of this case.

The receptionist was also dismissive and rude, which only added to the stress of the situation. After sharing my experience, I discovered that many others have had similar issues here.
All animals — whether pets or wildlife — deserve care, respect, and honest communication. Sadly, that was not my experience at this practice.

I shall be avoiding this practice at all costs.

They don't sell the flea treatment my dog has been on for years and told me they are unable to order it!
Only option was to pay them £22 to write a prescription, and then I could order it online, and wait for the order to be processed and then delivered. After phoning twice to chase them up trying to actually get the prescription, I gave up and changed to a vet who had the medication to sell to me.... Basically, if an organisation is providing a service they will need to give the paying customer what they want, or they will go elsewhere.......reading the appalling reviews here it looks like I did well abandoning the sinking ship before it went down.

During annual vaccination at Woking branch I was advised that my cat needed a dental clean with possible tooth extractions. An estimate was emailed to me at £847.14 to include £224.07 for 1-4 teeth to be removed. I was told too to ask insurers to add 20% for possible extras.
Went for a second opinion at a privately owned practise to be told, 'operation' not necessary and teeth fine; vet removed plague on teeth while I was there.- cost £45.
I have changed Vets after many years, you draw your our conclusion.

Took my cat to the Ryde branch first.
Was told she needed all of her teeth removed, including ejecting canines. Quoted nearly £1200.
I felt I had to justify her existance as a siamese, i rescued her, as i did her predecessor, i dont need to hear about poor breeding of mutant cats. As to being told she needs to eat pheasants and rabbits, when she already has a fresh diet left us feeling deflated by a vet who had his own agenda.
In an attempt to move the date forward due to health concerns, i made multiple calls, return calls never came.
To get an earlier surgery date we happily moved to their Lake surgery.
Admission was fine, surgery revealed only two teeth needed removing. Surgery, discharge and post op checks were fine, lovely Nurse.
I did ask for a thyroid blood test, but they tested for Kidney issues instead?
The bill was sent to a charity unrelated to us, who rightly refused to pay. The bill was then sent directly to me with some uncomfortable undertones. No one thought to make a simple phone call.
The charity supporting this cat had been in touch with the practice immediately after surgery was confirmed/booked, giving all details required, yet no record of this exists. I had made it clear on multiple occassions which charity was supporting this cat, including asking them to send the bill to our Charity and still they got it wrong. No one thought to apologised for any of these mistakes or embarressment caused.
I ended up apologising to the local charity for the vets error.
Still not convinced the remaining teeth are as clean as they could be.
We felt the Ryde practice was a profit driven,.in 15 mins of waiting we observed they took over £1000 from consultations and meds. The information we were given was incorrect and the office skills were lacking.
The Sandown practice was far better, though admin was no better.
Will we use them again ????

Nearly £1200 for 'poor' 'advice'. If it wasnt for the charity, my rescue cat would have been put down because of this prifiteering.
It is about time this is called out. Too many of us will put animals down because we cant afford these inflated prices.

On holiday and called as suspected pupper had a UTI , had an appointment and hour later and after 2 antibiotics the boy seems alot better, thankyou to the team at Lake near Sandown ,

I'd give the place a zero if I could. Very hard to see a vet, they always seem to be 'off sick' at Chandler's Ford. We've had to travel to Shirley or Botley to see a vet. They certainly know how to charge, but not how to diagnose. I've been taking my boy with stomach upsets since October 2024. Also mentioned he was padding around and panting. They just gave him a very expensive injection (2 occasions) which worked for a few days. I then went to Chilworth Vet, wow what a difference. Blood test done on the spot, dog admitted to their 'hospital' facility with acute pancreatitis, The panting and padding apparently meant he was IN PAIN. He's slowly recovering, but months of pain that needn't have happened.

I had a shocking experience with pet doctors, couldn't get bill right, over charged me customer relations terrible. Wrongly diagnosed my dog told me it was a bad tooth c9me pick her up then call your dog going to die got cancer. Charged me tobeven say goodbye to my dog! Room hire 10 mins? Terrible vets avoid

Took my dog to Ryde with a infection in the paw was given anti pain killers only the we ask for antibiotics
That was no the next day the was worse we gave it 2 days the took the dog to Newport explained what had happened the vet looked and gave us antibiotics and charged again a consultancy fee that’s wrong

I am still trying to understand the shocking experience I had recently with Pet Doctors, Chichester, West Sussex.
I took my old and sick dog to them for help, but instead of care we received something very different.
An aggressive and beligerent vet bellowed in my face, belittled me, mimicked and mocked me. The vet told me if I didnt consent to immediate euthanasia for the dog, the decision was going to be made for me there and then and I would have no choice. This was repeated agressively several times, there didnt seem to be even the slightest acknowledgment that we were discussing our very much loved family member. I quickly gathered my dog up in his blanket and we made our escape. "You either kill him now or I'm calling the RSPCA" she screamed after me as we ran out.
The new vet that we have now found is such a very different experience, you cant even tell its a vets at all. They also seem to care deeply, which is such a welcome change.
If a caring attitude delivered in a welcoming environment where you and your pet are respected is even slightly important to you, I would urge you to avoid Pet Doctors

Wish I’d have read these reviews first,took my Yorkshire terrier with a cough X-ray and tested £820 to tell me he needed medication!!im still waiting for the meds 5 days later,don’t know what to do next I just don’t have any more money 🥹

This is the second time our little dog has come in for her routine checkup and inoculation, and ended up being ill. This time the vet cleaned the short hair on her back before injecting the needle, which we hope will prevent her from getting the abscess on her back she got last time, and which took months to clear with further treatment. However this time the vet gave her a rather large lump of crusty food to distract her while giving her the injection. The vet did not check with my wife, who was with her. Three o'clock this morning my wife is up with a vomiting little dog. It looks pretty certain to me that this must be due to the ingested lump of titbit, as she did not get this reaction last time. I have my first Chemo infusion later today. I have not got the sleep I need to deal properly with that, and my wife, who has to be vigilant that I don't do anything I shouldn't, will also not be at her best, so I am not very happy.

Absolutely appalling service by both vet and receptionists. Zero communication skills and lack of understanding. Brought my cat in as he had a blockage of some kind which was causing him to vomit consistently. I had already explained all this to the thick- headed receptionist who didn't seem to grasp the urgency and told me I'd need to go to Newport branch as there was no vet in the surgery! Came in the next day to have the same situation unfold. The vet was a drone and lacked any personality. Filled in the diagnosis form incorrectly then tried to charge me for a vet ambulance to come and collect my cat. I informed her I had insurance but she didn't seem to understand how insurance worked, neither did the receptionist it would seem. Telling me I would need to print all this unnecessary policy information out rather than just inform them of the policy number etc. (Common sense comes in teirs it would seem). Having managed to call in a few favours, I get to Newport with my sick cat to find quite the opposite in terms of efficiency and service. The vet was lovely and very helpful as were the receptionist team and sorted the insurance out without any problems. She had to re-do the diagnosis invoice as the Ryde vet had done it incorrectly, recommending treatments which would not work. Really don't understand Ryde clinic's attitude and appalling service. We have had issues such as this in the past. Clearly have no idea what they are doing and have a stuck up attitude. Crap. Will go to Newport in future where they actually know what they are doing!

Booked appointment for my Quaker parrot who has not been well for a few days, got a call 10 minutes before the appointment telling me that unfortunately we are unable to see him.
Because the vet is not trained him.
Total waste of my time today..
Clearly don’t care about animals!

Pet Doctors Tongham: Didn’t pick up a mass on our elderly cat’s bladder and simply gave tablets for a urine infection and said see how things are in 5 days, albeit there was a large amount of blood pouring from her at the time we took her for emergency appointment. 2 days’ later we seek advice from alternative independent vet who could diagnose the problem straight away. Essentially he told us to throw the tablets we’d been given by Pet Doctors vet and he gave her numerous injections to hopefully help make her more comfortable for the short time she has left with us.
