Bankrupt discredited convicted criminal who preys on honest people. Twice convicted aged fraudster who still puts two fingers up to the world and continues to dishonestly trade .

Peter Walnes up to his old tricks even though convicted and on a 2 year suspended sentence. New ebay account treb_1093. Beware - his sale items may well be stolen goods. Reported our own recent experience to Trading Standards.

Peter Walnes owes me £5000. Does anyone know what sentence he received? I know he has just filed for bankruptcy. Also has anyone successfully claimed for the loss on their insurance?

I wished I had read the reviews on the this site before sending my cameras to Peter. Peter sold my Nikon Df in December 2022. I sent emails to him asking for payment his excuse was the HMRC owed him money. Peter never contacted me it was me always me chasing him. In January 2023 he sold a Leica SL which he had since last November and then in February sold my Sigma lens. When chased for payment his continuing excuse was the HMRC owed him money. Then today I found out he was declared bankrupt on the 14th. So I have made a claim on his estate but don’t hold any hope I will see my money.

Peter Walnes preys on the trust of honest folk, taking their valuables and then disappearing. He ignores Small Claims Court Judgements made against him. Contact Truro Trading Standards who are currently taking him to court and add to their list of complaints. We are on this list.

I sent a nikon and about 4 nikon lenses to Peter Walnes last June fir h to sell I receive about £1490 but then nothing. He phoned before chrome to say that the rest of the equipment had been sold but every time I try to contact him he’s always out of the office. Just a con man

Peter Walnes was convicted of fraudulent trading on 20th January 2023 and will be sentenced on 22nd March.
Hopefully his online and ebay business (arri888) will be closed down shortly.

Don't get scammed. From 2020 onwards Mr Walnes has taken in equipment to buy or sell on commission and has not paid for it. Periodically he posts positive reviews such as below to maintain the fiction that he is a reputable dealer. He is adept at spinning yarns to deflect complaints, until he finally goes silent. He is facing criminal proceedings from trading standards and has been the subject of many county court judgments. He also self-declared bankruptcy in 2021 to escape his creditors/victims. His behaviour is inexplicable given he has a long history as perfectly normal dealer, but do not buy or sell via him now.

Have sold cameras to Peter for almost two years. He has always paid what was due. Thank you Peter. Regards Paul

To echo the reviews below - Peter Wales doesn’t pay the commission he owes. We‘ve opened small claims proceedings and are in touch with Cornwall Trading Standards who are prosecuting him. Police also investigating via ActionFraud.

Peter Walnes is simply a thief and the most dishonest person I have ever come across. I have known him for over 30 years and still, he stole over £70,000 of my goods and never paid. He even deprived a sick person who was selling his camera equipment to finance his medical operation. He goes and files bankruptcy and insolvency. He has stollen over £800,000 of more than 170 people. He must end up in prison. Please be careful about him, he is the worse of all, can't possibly get worse. I am sure his family must be very proud of him!
