Will i get paid?

It’s been 7 months of emailing support and i still haven’t got paid or received a response, the big question is will i ever get paid the $700 that i am owed.

I would rate PlayTreks 5 stars overall

I would rate PlayTreks 5 stars overall. My experience with the platform has been positive, and I appreciate the opportunities it provides for independent artists.

One of the features I appreciate most is that PlayTreks allows artists to distribute cover songs through a straightforward process. The platform is easy to use, and managing releases is generally simple and accessible.

There are still a few improvements that could make the experience even better. In my opinion, releases should sometimes be delivered faster to streaming platforms, and a few technical bugs could be fixed. For example, improvements to Spotify for Artists profile linking would be very helpful for artists managing their catalogs. Aside from these issues, I am satisfied with the service and appreciate the work of the PlayTreks team.

I am a famous independent music producer, artist, and digital creator known professionally as DJ IFEANYI. Over the years, I have built an international audience through streaming platforms, social media, and digital music communities. My music has generated more than 588 million streams, views, and engagements across digital platforms. On TikTok, my sounds have accumulated more than 588.3 million streams, views, and engagements and have been used in approximately 301.3K public videos created by users worldwide.

Thank you to the PlayTreks team for their work and continued improvements. I look forward to future updates and enhancements to the platform.

payout pending for 4 months, no support answers

I requested a payout 4 months ago and I have still not received the money. Support does not answer any emails. Their social media is dead. This is a fraudulent company designed to steal artists money, stay away!

Dear Antje, thanks for raising this. You are right that your payout took long and we understand that it's frustrating. Before payouts are released, royalties go through a validation stage where incoming store reports are checked and screened for potential streaming fraud. This process can occasionally take long, but it helps ensure royalties are distributed fairly and accurately.

Meanwhile we have located your payout request, completed the validation and the payout has been processed. You should see the payment shortly if you have not already received it.

Regarding response times: we prioritize support requests from active paid distribution plans, which can sometimes lead to slower responses for free accounts. That said, payout requests themselves always go through the same validation and payment process.

If this resolves the issue, we would appreciate it if you could update your review so future artists have an accurate picture of the situation. Of course, if anything still needs attention, please contact our team and we will gladly assist.

unsure if i get paid

hi i am not when payments are being paid there is very bad communication about this all of my money is just pending but i cannot withdraw it and its very slow

EDIT: I will change my review when I see actual movement of my money to my bank account, not some empty promises.

Please allow me to explain why you're experiencing a long wait - especially because you are not the only one.

PlayTreks wants to be as transparent as possible, and therefore we report streams immediately after we receive the data from platforms. This typically takes a minimum of 3 months due to DSP reporting cycles. This isn’t unique to PlayTreks—it’s standard across the industry.

The moment of actual payout, depends on when stores and DSPs (like Spotify, Apple Music, etc.) report and release funds in full, which unfortunately tends to take more and more time. We have seen an increase in delays at certain DSP's who take lots of time investigating possible streaming fraud cases, before paying out. Even if it does not apply to your release, or even to PlayTreks as a whole.

We can assure you that eventually, earnings will be made available and that a payout can be requested - as soon as they have been succesfully collected. We’d really appreciate it if you could revisit your review based on this clarification. Please let us know if you need further details!

Unclear when / if earnings will be paid

earnings have been sitting in the "Total pending

ok company BUT: wait times are too long

OK company, website could use some improvement but works.
THE WORST THING IS THE WAITING TIME
if you request your royalties, prepare to wait 3-6 months until you get them to your PayPal account. absolutely not OK to let users wait this long, what the fck
get it together, you are running a company

EDIT: See? This is what I mean! I write this review on 5th of june and they reply 5 months later on the 5th of november

I’m glad to hear you find our service generally useful, though I apologize for the frustration around wait times. Regarding royalties, we understand that a 3-6 month wait can feel excessive. Please know that this timeframe is due to industry-wide factors beyond our direct control. Earnings from streaming services (DSPs) typically take at least three months to be reported to us, and an additional two to three months for full payments to reach us from the platforms. Only when these funds are received can we transfer them to your “My Earnings” dashboard for withdrawal. While we’d love to speed this up, it’s a common timeline across music distribution services.

That said, we’re actively making improvements on our end to enhance transparency and streamline internal processes so you know exactly when funds are available and ready for payout. PlayTreks is under new management and improving the overall experience is a key priority for us. We hope you'll give us a fair chance to deliver up to this promise.

Much to improve

Since 2021 I have been posting my music on this platform. From April to December I only saw pennies on my balance sheet. In the middle of this year (2023) the royalties that I had been waiting for a long time appeared.

In July I made my first withdrawal and as of today they were not sent to my Paypal account.

The support does not respond to any email. The distribution manager says that the platform "is under maintenance" and that "the royalties are still being calculated".

The royalty counts and statistics are much better than other platforms. In addition to adding Two-Factor Authentication. But when it comes to counting royalties and making payments, they are terrible (Taking into account that they get 15% of the total royalties)

So far I will leave 1 star in my review. I will update you with more news.

Update: After many emails they paid me twice this month. I'm going to leave 3 stars until Playtreks improves.

PlayTreks is a scam ?

Since September 2022 i got some releases up there, i received two payments and then nothing, i contacted the support, answer is "New system coming out, we are calculating all the royalties, soon it will be ok".
Still waiting now... I don't see my 7 months of royalties...

I just wanted to distribute some music…

I just wanted to distribute some music for free and I found this distributor on the internet.

I just uploaded a track I made and the next day I got called having a "fraudulent behavior" and they ask me for a picture of me with my ID god knows what they'll use this information from.

Stay away,they're most likely scammers trying to grab some ID to do shady things.

Digital Distribution…

I've used them for digital distribution for nearly a year. They do automatic splits. Support is hit and miss, sometimes they reply and are very helpful and effective and other times never get back at all.
Payouts are the worst thing. They are a few months behind, which is a particular frustration. They promise to make the payments by the end of the day or week or month, which never happens. It would be better if they didn't make promises about payment dates.
The analytics and website are great and they could be a brilliant distributor if withdrawals/payments were on a regular schedule.

Signed up mainly for the airplay…

Signed up mainly for the airplay tracking as they claim to track over 40k radio stations. I have another radio tracker that I’m using that does a great job but is a little expensive so I thought I would test Playtreks out and see if they listed the same radio plays as my other service.
Their tracking service is very hit and miss. They list one play from a radio station one day but not the next, even though on both days I’ve had multiple plays from that station. Pretty much useless information. Emailed them, no answer. So much for that “premium support” listed as a subscriber perk.
Stay away.

Wrote them 2 emails regarding my payout…

Wrote them 2 emails regarding my payout which should've been sent out 1 1/2 months ago. Last time I heard from them was an email that my payout is processed around a month ago. Literally no reply to any emails ever since. Highly unprofessional considering you can not even answer simple email requests for weeks. Do yourself a favour and stay away

Always endeavoring.

I have been with playtreks for almost a year now and my experience is not very good.
The distributor gets it done to publish my music and relatively quickly, for that one star. Otherwise, everything happens laboriously, the support responds very sporadically when you send several requests there. The income is not credited to the account, as with most on 01 of a month, but 2-3 weeks later. For March and April they did not report anything until mid-August, supposedly because of technical problems. According to their own information, the payment of revenues should happen within 1-3 business days, this has never happened. The last one has been pending for almost 2 weeks. Say everything is very tough. Not really fun to be here. And they still take 15% commission on the earnings. Meanwhile, I really want to move my catalog to another distributor, even though it takes a lot of work. :-/ Too bad actually, I was very optimistic in the beginning when my music was released relatively quickly.
Addendum (08.12.2022): Payouts have delays of months and I always have to remind and request them several times without any success. Stay away from this pseudo-distributor.
