Pushy, not listening to the customer. More training required.

After purchasing our new home, we discovered it had a prepay electricity meter. Although we preferred our usual provider, Energia - with monthly direct debit, we had to first register with the prepay company to restore power to the house. Afterwards, we arranged the switch to Energia.
When I then tried to deactivate the prepay account on the phone, the representative (Ridi I think her name was) continuously put obstacles in my way for almost 20 minutes as to reasons why we should not go with Energia, prolonging the call to an uncomfortable and annoying stage. Eventually, she agreed to deactivate. All calls are recorded and I can confirm my final instruction was to deactivate the account. The approach felt overly pushy, which could be difficult for some customers who would be less fragile than me.
Our electricity was unexpectedly disconnected today due to an overdrawn balance as a result of the account not being activated when requested, and Energia couldn't proceed with the switch because the prepay account remained active.
I called Prepay again and learned my initial deactivation request hadn't been honoured because of an apparent follow-up agreement the previous Friday. After clarifying no such agreement and standing firm, the account was finally deactivated but not before another sales pitch was attempted. A few hours later (Ridi) called me again and I confirmed I did not wish to speak with anyone from Prepay and I terminated the call. Whilst I understand the representatives are paid to encourage and keep customers, good customer service is paramount and being made to feel uncomfortable and pressurised does not factor into customer service.
The whole process was frustrating and patronising. I am relieved to be back with our chosen supplier ENERGIA. Read the words, OUR CHOSEN SUPPLIER.

Excellent Assistance from Ridhi

I rang PrePay customer service and spoke with Ridhi as I wanted to close my account. She was very helpful and courteous while handling the call and transferring me to the appropriate department.

Happy now

What made experience 'so great': My power went off yesterday at 4pm. The electric company were unable to turn the power on; they advised me not to call Prepay Power, telling me that PPP could not help. At 5.48 I called Prepay Power. Ridhi answered me call. Within five minutes, following Ridhi's directions - my power came on.

Mixed bag 😐

The company should have told us there was a block on our meter. We were not informed about this. I work from home and I had to miss an important meeting to address this issue, as our power had been cut off. It’s simply not good enough.
As for your customer service agent Emma, she was very professional. Super helpful and courteous. Great phone voice and very friendly.
