However I now have a consultant called Jake Johnson who is never around , does not answer emails or waits 2 weeks to answer me then itâs normally â I need to speak to my manager â for basic tasks. Abbu would always check in with me, I have never had that from Jake and he never answers the phone. I have recently started to look elsewhere for work as I have no faith in pay queries or basic general queries from Jake . Sorry randstad you use to be a 5 star service , poorly gone downhill

He really took the time to understand what I was looking for, kept me informed throughout, and was always approachable and attentive. He also helped me prepare for my interview by giving useful advice on what to expect, which made me feel much more confident going into it. He regularly checked in with me as well, which showed how much he genuinely cared.
I truly appreciate everything heâs done and would happily recommend him, along with Randstad, to anyone looking for a supportive and genuine recruitment experience.

Randstad agency steals money from workers.
I worked for them as a telehandler operator for 2 days. Before starting, we agreed on 9 hours paid per day. However, when it came to payment, they only paid me for 8.5 hours per day.
That might sound like a small difference, but over the 2 days I was underpaid £21 and the principle matters. If they do this to every worker, it adds up quickly.
Randstad excuse was that their client only paid them for 8.5 hours, so they paid me the same. But that is not my problem. My agreement was with the agency, not their client. We agreed 9 hours, and that should be honoured.
I contacted them several times trying to resolve this properly, but they either ignored me or kept repeating the same excuse. It felt like a âcomputer says noâ attitude, with no willingness to take responsibility or fix the issue.
Very disappointing experience. Be careful if you work with this agency, check your hours and payments closely.
P.s I have written proof of the agreed hours and payslip.

I have been working for a client as a contractor since April 2017. London, United Kingdom. I requested today Randstad to send me a letter for the Home Office confirming my start date, job tittle and location for the purpose of applying for British Naturalization. It is required for the candidate to be in the UK for at least 5y. Shockingly, I received a letter from Randstad stating I have been an employee since Feb/2026 in Netherlands!!! How is this possible? In case this situation is not rectified I will not hesitate in escalating the situation to the administration of Randstad and also the client I am working for.

Randstad should not be allowed to provide support to disabled students. I am blind and was pushed by the allocated support worker (Tarikebuna Kerekebuna). Physical assault is unacceptable, but even worse when blind. My support worker was snoring during taught sessions, for which my lecturers provided evidence. I was almost forced into the wrong car. Also, I was refused notes in accessible notes, despite requiring these to do my course. I made a complaint, yet the support worker's account was accepted at face value, despite witnesses being present. I will be taking this further, due to the distress I have experienced.
This feels like a scam, ghost jobs. I applied twice for a JLR role through Randstad, a useless agency. I completed the online assessment and passed it. The automated email said I would be contacted for the next steps, but two weeks have already passed and no one has reached out.
I tried calling the Birmingham office number, but every time it goes to an automated voicemail saying there is no one available to take my call. Why the hell are they wasting my time and the time of thousands of others like me?

Absolutely shocking service from the back office side of things! (Clearly based in India).
I tried communicating with the Randstad Onboarding team but was getting nowhere! I recieved a call after 10 days of sending numerous emails, making countless phonecalls (with no reply, just rings out and eventually some promises of ' leaving the message for the relevant person ' to call me back) to different colleagues within the team and leaving a few voicemails, no response whatsoever!
I could go on but I think you get the jist. The team on site were great however limited to what they could actually do which simply meant I had no choice but to wait for a miracle for Randstad to get back to me!
Please employee people who're actually capable of doing their job and not sitting around twidling their thumbs!

The interview and onboarding process was very efficient, and the staff were extremely friendly. Jonathan, in particular, was amazing throughout the whole process. He was very approachable, kept me informed, and made sure I was up to date every step of the way.

Unfortunately, now bottom of the pile. These zero hour contracts should be a thing of the past. Poor pay poor attitudes of staff. Refuse to give references, because they don't want you to go to a better agency and be paid more. Currently I know somebody who is stuck with them because they won't give a reference so they can work elsewhere. By the way, this is after 10 years + commitment and loyalty.

Applied for a role at JLR quickly was asked to complete an online test .i was invited for an online interview a few days later. I signed into the teams/zoom meeting and placed in a waiting room. Despite being told to be online promptly for the interview, I sat and waited with no answer. I then recieved a phone call stating I had been booked incorrectly as the original agent was actually off. The person on the phone however advised they would call me to complete the interview later that day.After the phone interview was completed, I was asked to complete a dexterity test in a test centre. (This was a great experience). After the dexterity test we were told the results would be Recieved in the next few days, with those who pass being invited to interview at the intended workplace.
I was advised of passing the tests, and would receive a call to arrange the face to face interview/drug and alcohol tests etc. I missed a call and called the number back. The answerphone did not state who you were calling, and I left a message asking for a call back, I Recieved no further call. I called a few day later and got through to an agent who advised I had been called ânumerous timesâ and was not answer and therefore missed the interview allocation and would need to wait for the next intake date. I asked if they could leave a voicemail message if I was unable to answer as I work and usually facilitate sessions so unable to answer my phone during these times. I was told â I suggest you answer your phone when it ringsâ. A month went by and I Received an email asking me to attend an interview scheduled for a Saturday. I attended the interview after arranging childcare on the Saturday . I arrived early for the appointment. On arriving I found the visitor car park closed, and the reception not open. Thinking it was maybe because I arrived early I waited. 10 minutes before the interview I spoke to a member of security who advised reception was not open and was unaware of any interviews. She spoke to someone on her radio and informed that on occasion interviews did take place on Saturday especially if there was a big intake. My understanding/impression was that this was a large intake, so I continued to wait. By the interview time no one had arrived. However as I know the road work can cause traffic issues waited a further 30mins yes- still no one. I called your number and left voicemail messages asking what I needed to do- no reply to them, I also sent emails. I Recieved a response to my email on the Monday stating it was passed to the team, and then a further email stating they did not send an email to me asking for me to attend an interview, I was asked to send proof, which I did. No further contact has been made with me, other than I just need to wait for an interview date. I have since sent a further email asking for an update on my applicationâŠ. Again advised it was passed on to the team and had no further contact. I applied for the role in June, people who applied around the same time as me for the same role and the drivers role have started.
An exciting career change has been affected by poor customer service and appears you focus more on the number of people you can get to fill a role rather than seeing this as an inspiring opportunity for those looking at new roles.
