Ich habe 1.000 Haselnüsse bestellt. Nach der Stratifikation (10 Wochen im Kühlschrank) musste ich feststellen, dass die Nüsse nicht keimfähig sind.

Nach weiteren drei Wochen im Glashaus entschied ich mich, einige der äußerlich „gut“ aussehenden Nüsse zu öffnen. Dabei zeigte sich, dass diese innen verschimmelt waren, obwohl sie äußerlich unversehrt wirkten.

Zum Vergleich habe ich zeitgleich selbst gesammelte Haselnüsse stratifiziert. Diese begannen bereits nach etwa 7 Wochen im Kühlschrank zu keimen (Keimrate ca. 85 %).

Daher gehe ich davon aus, dass die gelieferten Samen von Anfang an nicht keimfähig waren.

I am now a long standing customer of RPS and must have spent a few thousand Euro on seeds over the past 3+ years. The range of seeds available is breath taking. I don't expect miracles but frequently I get very high germination rates, occasionally relatively low but only in a few instances I have achieved no germination. The important points to remember is this is not like growing tomato plants. Success does rely upon an element of skill with thought given to how the seeds should be treated, sowing media and best conditions to stimulate germination. But of course the lazy way to excuse failure to is to blame the seed merchant. I have RPS to thank for an ever expanding collection of rare and exotic plants.

Lieferung vollständig und zeitnah (letzteres war früher nicht immer der Fall)
Keimraten z.T. sehr gut, teilweise aber auch sehr gering, wobei die Ursachen dafür vielfältig sein können
etwas unverständlich, dass bei hohem Bestellwert die Versandkosten steigen

The seeds no good ,are old and rotten, it happened to me several times but this time I wrote here...

Scammers. I ordered several “rare” seeds (or at least I hope they were), but none of them germinated — not a single one out of 20, even after trying different methods. The seeds arrived in very poor condition. Despite taking precautions and keeping them isolated during the germination process, they all ended up developing mold. Some I soaked in water beforehand had the same issue. When I opened a few, they were clearly dead inside.

Definitely to be avoided, especially for so-called rare seeds sold at high prices. They’re most likely old or improperly stored.

I was a happy customer BUT ...Well again then as my first comment didn't post. So ordered for 300+ euro in seeds (trachycarpus Princeps) (100 seeds) and seeing now they cost 100 euro less makes me angry. BUT not only that as i sow seeds more then 10 years now, none of these germinated at all in april 2026. Bought these in 2024 NONE !!!. I am really angry because i lost 300 EURO's for nothing

J’ai passé commande le 02/03/2025 nous sommes le 06/02/2026 je leurs ai envoyé un mail il y a 15/20 jours afin de leurs faire part dés germinations que j’ai eu mais surtout que je n’ai pas eu, ce mail est resté sans réponse ce qui démontre le grand sérieux de cette entreprise!
J’ai commandé 100 graines de brahea Clara ice blue 0 germination, 100 graines de brahea eduli 0 germination, 10 graines de butiagrus 0 germination, 100 graines de brahea SP 15 germinations, 100 graines de brahea dulci bleu 12 germinations et 100 graines de Jubaea 26 germinations. J’ai donc un gros doute sur la fraîcheur des graines vendu!

So many recognizable stories. I ordered seeds at 26-09-25. A lot of palmseeds easy to sprout, I thougt. The more difficult ones I did not want to order now. I just wanted to check first if it´s a good seed dealer, after some previous bad experiences with other dealers. I received them end of oktober. The first thing I noticed was that a lot of bags of palmseed were not full. I ordered 10 seeds of each palm specie and a lot of bags had only 6 seeds. I found that strange but I didn´t react immediately. At first, I wannted to check if the rest was good. I had almost 75 palmseeds and 90 plantseeds and if they sprouted I would ask him why he took palmseeds out of the bags. 17 easy plantseeds did sprout and till now none of palmseeds sprout. So I wrote a mail explaining that I followed all his instructions and tips from his customers but that I noiced that 3 species had floating seeds and a few sank and asked him if the seeds were fresh because I thought he put his last seeds in bags of 6 left overs. He wrote back that he understood my problem and wrote that I ordered seeds to Canary Islands while I live in Spain and because of tax, islands are not EU, he took out seeds to compesate the extra costs. I wrote back that,s a ly and told him if you select country there is only one option Canary islands/Spain and if he would read the sending adress it was Spain. Then he starts a bullshit story explaining all things I allready told him in the first mail and that,s is normal that seeds sometimes sink and that I did things wrong but that he will give me a few free seeds if I make new order. I´m not gonna waist another 150 Euro,s. If you wanna try russian roulette, be my guest.

I bought some Araucaria seeds none of them germinated, seeds were probably not fresh

Very good website, easy navigation, strong and longlasting webdesign (no need of fancy new shizzle), good quality of seeds overall, good communication, and they even give second chances on some seeds that hasn't germinated (on their discretion, which is 100% understandable) ; the amount of unsatisfied review here is not matching the global experince, from far !

Avoid at all costs!

The seeds they sold me weren't viable. I have germinated thousands of Begonias and my method works without fail, but not a single 1 out of 1000 seeds germinated.

When I informed them of this, it became apparent that they have no clue about the seeds, don't test them and just sell them assuming everything is fine. They refuse to consider the possibility the seeds aren't viable, and instead just say "sounds like a you problem, we already received our money"

Another pack of seeds was of a completely different genus.

Wir bestellen schon mehrere Jahre die Samen einiger unserer Raritäten bei Rare Palm Seeds. Immer schnell bearbeitet und gut verpackt. In der Regel waren die Samen zu hohem Prozentsatz keimfähig. Gerne nächstes Jahr wieder.

Habe vor kurzem, trotz oft negativer Bewertung Samen im Shop bestellt. Lieferzeit und Qualität der Samen lassen keine negative Bewertung zu, alles Top.
Habe meine erste Bestellung aufgrund der negativen Bewertungen storniert. Man hat mir sehr höflich deren Bedauern ausgesprochen, was mich zu einer weitern Bestellung veranlasste, und siehe da, alles in bester Ordnung.
Möchte nur ganz höflich, für alle Nörgler, darauf hinweisen, dass Samen nicht gleich Samen ist.
Besonders Exoten brauchen die richtigen Bedingungen zum Keimen und dies erfordert nun mal Kenntnisse.
Sowie sich Tiere nur unter bestimmten Voraussetzungen vermehren, ist es bei den Pflanzen nicht anders.
Mein Tipp:
Informieren, Kaufen und dann maulen.
Alles andere ist unfair gegenüber dem Lieferanten.

Ich habe am 3.11.2024 für EUR 200 Samen gekauft. Der grösste Teil des Saatgutes das geliefert wurde, war entweder ausgetrocknet oder vergraut. Nur ein ganz kleiner Teil war noch lebend. Beim Öffnen der Packung kam mir ein so starker Schimmelgeruch entgegen, dass ich die Sendung sofort nach draussen stellen musste. Auf meine Frage die Sendung nach der neuen Ernte zu ersetzen, bekam ich eine negative Antwort.

Blechnum obtusatum - special tree fern.. purchased €50 worth of spores on 21 Juli (batch 300 - 2406315) after 4 months.. absolutely nothing.. I have ample of experience and these should have germinated. However these spores where old and absolutely nothing germinated.. I feel rarepalmseeds should only offer fresh spores.. and not sell old spores that are no longer viable.. what a pity and waste of money .. very disappointed.

It’s reliable so far ALL palmseeds did germinate: Cryostachys renda (red palm), Talipot palm and several other extremly rare palms.

About the other exotic plants/cacti: the germination rate was rather low so I recommend to choose only the “new” seeds next time; this will save you a bit money.

It’s pretty expensive however if you like exlusive plants for hobby or if you are young like me and these things will get really nice over 5 years (or more) then this is worth the effort.

The seeds arrived on time, the package was correct and safe, and they responded promptly and accurately when I contacted them. The eucalyptus seeds have germinated in no time. The only thing I miss on the website are the instructions for germination, whether the seeds need scarification or stratification, and whether they need to be soaked before being planted, things like that. Otherwise, I'm satisfied with the purchases and the customer service.

Ich habe dieses Jahr 2 mal,insgesamt ca 10 verschiedene Arten von Samen gekauft, gekeimt ist ausser Erythrina acanthocarpa nichts. Rarepalmseeds versendet entweder altes Saatgut als neu, oder es wird schlecht gelagert. Schade ums Geld, und nicht zu empfehlen!
