NatCem D This environmentally conscious grout offers outstanding performance in challenging environments. Made from a blend of natural cement and specialised retarders, it sets rapidly and maintains strong adhesion on damp or saturated substrates. NATCEM D requires only the addition of clean water, with no need for primers or additives. Applications Grouting and void filling in both dry and submerged conditions Use in potable water installations and wastewater treatment facilities Structural and environmental stabilisation in rivers, canals, tunnels, and spillways Waterproof applications requiring high chemical and salt resistance Performance and Properties Initial setting begins at 35 minutes, final set at 45 minutes (at 20°C) Maintains performance down to 0°C; warm water can accelerate setting in cold environments Withstands sulphate and chloride ingress, making it ideal for aggressive exposure zones Fine particle size ensures strong penetration and reduced void risk Sets underwater, forming a high-strength bond in submerged environments Mixing and Application To achieve a fluid, workable consistency, NATCEM D should be mixed with 40% clean water (10 litres per 25kg). Add the powder to water while mixing continuously. Use a mechanical mixer or a drill with a Rose Bud paddle for small quantities. Ensure a minimum of two minutes vigorous mixing to activate fluidity. Application should be immediate. Do not rework the product once setting begins, as this compromises structural integrity. Avoid adding excess water, which may lead to lower early strength, longer setting times, and potential surface cracking. Restrictions and Precautions Do not apply to frozen or excessively hot surfaces (ideal range: 0°C to 30°C) Never add extra water post-mixing or attempt to remix once the product has started setting Not intended for use in applications where flexibility or high elongation is required Do not induce vomiting if swallowed; avoid contact with eyes and prolonged skin exposure Always wear gloves, goggles, and a dust mask during handling. NATCEM 35 may be more suitable where additional mechanical strength or early load-bearing is necessary. Storage & Shelf Life Store in a dry, well-ventilated area. The product is sealed within a protective polythene bag inside a woven polypropylene sack. If stored correctly, it retains full effectiveness for up to 12 months.
