RayPak does NOT stand behind their product. I have a 3T Spa Heater and within 4 years the shell of the unit completely rotted out. They tried to tell me it was most likely caused by water chemistry. However, the system does not leak and the chemistry is checked weekly and not out of balance. I sent them pictures and now they don't return my emails. I would not recommend this company.

Pool heater died after less than 4 years. Contacted several times and their warranty department simply ignores all my emails. Terrible customer service. Just inexistent. Horrible experience.

I installed an electric Pool heater 4 years ago and it completely failed. Raypak is delaying sending parts that are under warranty. the process has been going on for 90days and I am still waiting. 30 phone calls , the install company have called, its a total stall tactic. I have been promised 5 different times that the parts have been shipped, I call back and they start all over again. The customer service dept is a zero, not a 1 star. Terrible experience, never buy from them again.

Raypak has been putting me off for 3 weeks on warranty service for my Raypak pool/spa heater. I get promises that they will call me back, and they don't. They have tried to make it my problem that their nearest warranty service provider is two hours away. They keep trying to get me to check with additional plumbers and electricians and see if any will honor their warranty. No one that I have talked to in West Tennessee near Jackson will work on a Raypak pool heat pump. I have spoken to several, again, doing Raypak's job for them. The unit is less than one year old and I am very disappointed in the equipment and the customer service. Raypak knows its units are being installed, but not serviced in this area. I would not buy again, and I strongly recommend against buying a Raypak unit.

I am very disappointed with my experience with Raypak and their warranty process. My pool heater is less than a year old, and instead of standing behind their product, I have been asked to provide internal pictures that require taking the heater apart. As a regular consumer, I am not qualified to disassemble a pool heater safely, nor should I be expected to pay a technician just to prove there is a defect covered under warranty.

I purchased this heater expecting reliability and customer support if something went wrong within the warranty period. Unfortunately, the process has been frustrating and costly. Rather than helping resolve the issue, I feel I am being pushed toward purchasing a replacement unit instead of receiving proper warranty service.

I understand companies need documentation for warranty claims, but requiring customers to disassemble equipment or hire someone at their own expense for a product that is not even a year old does not feel reasonable. I hope Raypak reconsiders how they handle warranty claims and provides better support for customers who invest in their products.

Bought a pool heater not 1 year later it’s broken and Rheem/Raypak comes up with every excuse not to stand by warranty. Don’t buy from them!!! $6k down the tubes!

A failed drain plug after a few months. Replaced. This caused a catastrophic failure of the fire brick, and the unit had an internal fire. Triggered the roll-out sensor. Shut down. Unit experienced corrosion with the drain plug failure and saltwater from my pool corroded the interior of the unit. The unit lasted 5 months. Paid $3,632 for the unit.

The pool has now been dead for two months as Raypak will not return emails or phone calls. I live in Colorado and keep the swimming pool operational all year.

The units have cheap components that could easily be made better. The company's default position of DENY, DENY, DENY is sad. Their lies about chemical imbalance is outright fraud. I use an app to monitor daily chemicals. I have a facilities team that manage my estate.

I would NEVER recommend Raypak. It would have been so much easier for them to replace the burned-out unit rather than spend all the time and money fighting a valid warranty claim.

Everything was wrong and still wrong. I am currently on my 3rd pool heater with no satisfaction, Model number P-R264A-EN-N started mid summer last year pool heater started leaking internally after a couple of days . They replaced the heart lasted about a day, exact same leak same place , now i haven't had warm water no one swimming and I'm paying for this heater. They replaced the heater again pool was already closed by now. Started the heater up this year late about week ago ran about a 24 hours started leaking again. I don't want this model again i want next model up or down don't care , but this is insane. Say they are ranked #1 i would take a hot water bottle over this heater anyday.

We purchased a Raypak pool heat pump 3 years ago. When we uncovered it after the first winter, the display board was unreadable, still under warranty, they replaced it. 2nd year opening the same thing happened. No longer under warranty. We had to replace out of pocket. 3rd year the board was blank, when tapped on, it worked for a short time. Now 3 weeks ago the H20 sensor error displayed and the heater stopped working all together. I highly recommend you do not purchase this product. Has anyone else had issues with this product or is it just us. I do want to emphasize that we have taken extremely good care of the heater to avoid any problems. That didn’t work.

Brand new Raypac Crosswind 50. Would not start from day1. Keeps kicking the 30 amp breaker. The installing electrician came to double check his work . No issues.
Many calls by the pool installer to Raypac .
Their local service person would not come to check it out. 50 minute drive?.
Many more calls to Raypac by the pool installer. Apparently there are some in Florida , but 3 weeks to ship it here. This has been going on for 2 months. Terrible company to deal with and nothing but empty promises to solve the issue. Would never use their product.
Update!! The pool company got another brand in and it works perfect.

Everything is wrong with this company . Warranty got denied due to signs of chemical damage. Pool heater is 2 weeks old and has a big hole on the incap for the heat exchanger.

Heater was only installed a year ago and is now ruined. It is leaking and I have been told all parts need to be replaced and they will not uphold their warranty.
Our previous heater lasted 8 years. We have a salt water pool. I find it incredibly insulting that they would try to blame “chemicals” in a salt water pool when we have tested the water each month.
Poor form. I’ll be taking this further.

We replaced our pool heater with model P-R266A-EN-X last Friday. Less than one day later the unit was gushing water and I had to shut the whole pool down until my pool service could come on Monday morning. On Monday, I found out the drain plug failed, just broke in two, within one day of the install.
I contacted Raypak and they would send me a drain plug but would not help me with the service charges of $110 billed by my pool service. I was told to use their chosen warranty service people in the future. In order to ask for service I needed to register the unit, provide proof of installation by a third party, and then wait until they get back to me. This was not going to happen on a weekend.
I think they should have stood by their product and agreed to help cover the cost of my service call. There should be no reason for any parts to fail in less that one day! It's a disappointing start and I hope it is not an indicator of future issues with this unit!

We purchased E3T Electric Heater. Easy installation as a replacement heater. My husband installed it himself so only a 90 day warranty. Heater stopped working after one week of use. Tried contacting Raypak for warranty service and they don't deal with residents directly. Warranty service provider is over 100 miles away and we have to pay $100 trip charge. Raypak should send service provider at no charge.

Disreputable Company, didn’t honor their warranty, making misleading warranty statements, unprofessional customer service, extremely poor quality products. Bad business practices. Experience shows they don’t stand behind their products. Customer data mining.
Purchased a Raypak Pool Heat Pump in March of 2020. We had it professionally installed and it worked great for the entire 2020 pool season.
When it came time to open the pool in 2021 the company that opened our pool told us right away that there is an issue with the Heat Pump. It wasn’t starting.
Called Raypak, they took all our information only to tell us that the heater hadn’t been registered within a specified timeframe (within 30 days of installation) and therefore any warranty had been voided.
Ended up having to pay for repeated repairs (one failed capacitor, fan motor failed twice) Second fan motor was also not covered under their warranty (even though the 2nd fan motor failed within a month) since according to them they don’t service the public and don’t issue warranties to individual parts.
They turned their warranty procedure into a data mining operation that didn’t result in anything but me giving them my data in hopes to resolve the issue. Name, address, phone number, serial numbers, your electrician’s name etc.
Whenever I contacted Raypak it just seemed to go in circles. First they tried to refer me back to third parties, then they transferred me to their Warranty Department, after that it was on to the Parts Department, then the Sales Department. Every department tries to pass you off to someone else. They make vague statements, ask all sorts of unrelated questions and then make statements that sound like they just pull it out of thin air.
Raypak is part of the Rheem Manufacturing Company so not only are we not purchasing any Raypak products ever again but also none of their other brands Rheem and Ruud (Air conditioning, water heaters, boilers etc.)
I don't expect this heater to last very long, as of this writing we still have to deal with ongoing repairs. You're probably better off with a reputable company such as Hayward or Pentair. Registering a product seems to be a relatively new way for companies to avoid having to live up to their warranty claims. We had a receipt for the purchase of the heat pump, we had a receipt for the installation of the heat pump (which by the way is also a requirement by Raypak, you apparently can’t install it yourself even if you are capable) but it was all useless according to them.
