I had an extremely bad experience with this BMW garage and strongly advise others to stay away.
I originally brought my car in for a brake issue, but despite being quoted a fixed rate, I was later charged significantly more. The situation escalated unnecessarily to the point where I was told the brake caliper also had to be replaced, which felt more like upselling than honest diagnosis.
The problems did not stop there. During reassembly,incorrectly installed, leading to unstable idle. Shortly after, the car developed even more serious issues including gear shifting problems, which had never existed before the visit.
This shows a clear lack of attention to detail and quality control. While there may be one or two capable mechanics, the overall standard of work is careless and inconsistent. This is not what anyone should expect when trusting a garage with a BMW.
What bothered me the most was the attitude:
constant excuses, shifting blame, and a complete lack of accountability. It felt like a place more focused on extracting money than providing honest, professional service.
Ross â if you are the owner or manager, then the responsibility is ultimately yours. If you cannot manage properly, then management must be delegated, or mechanics must be properly trained and supervised. What I experienced reflects poor leadership and poor standards.
This garage is not a BMW specialist, despite how it may present itself. For me, this was nothing but a complete waste of money, time, and trust.
I would never return, and I strongly urge other BMW owners:
please do not bring your car here. I strongly advise others to avoid this place at all costs.
Timing chain replaced in only a couple of days. Aaron, the mechanic has done a fantastic job and I have no complaints regarding this company. Kept informed of all proceedings.
Ross was quick to respond to emails, carried out a transfer case fluid change and ecu adaptation on my x5 which resolved the lift off throttle jerking . I will definitely use RBM again I trust them more than main dealer.
I've been going there since Ross opened in 2019 with both of my BMWs and have always been very pleased with the standard of the work done and the reasonable cost.
My Z4M will be there tomorrow for an Inspection service with valve clearances checked and shimmed if required and some work on the brakes.
Great specialist. Use all the correct parts and fluids so warranty is maintained. Excellent value vs main dealer and far more skilled than your average dealership apprentice. What more do you need. Will be using them from now on.
The kind of personal, money saving service and experience you want. Honest, trustworthy and very highly competent. Use them, you won't regret it.
Took my e85 (Z4) To RBM for the 1st time yesterday (had an appointment booked) as soon as I arrived knew who I was... very friendly took my keys and started the work within 5 mins
Busy garage but what I noticed it was so calm and organised might not mean much to some but such a clean workshop ð all of this is usually a reflection of how they work!!
My issue was resolved promptly and did not cost me a £ more then what was quoted on the phone
Spoke to Ross about another issue that I want to be be addressed at a later date and he actually showed me parts that was involvedâŠ.Just was very engaging and informative!!
So good to see professional firms are still about!!

I don't usually write reviews but give credit where credit is due!!
So Iâve been looking for something like RBM for a while. I wanted someone ex BMW, uses BMW parts so itâs as if you took it to the main dealer but I donât need the bells and whistles, Wi-fi, coffee, valet etc of the main dealer (which you pay for). I wanted super high quality service and knowledge for good price. Iâve finally found that with Ross at RBM.
I was kept up to date all the way through the process, nothing was too much trouble and the knowledge and care was second to none. Super happy customer here! Please give Ross a call for your BMW & Mini needs, we need more trusted local businesses like this to succeed ðð
