Reason Global - Shambolic
Unfortunately I have had to turn a five star review from a few years ago into a one star, with the usual disclaimer that I would award zero stars if that were an option.
This is primarily due to two factors. Firstly the Managing Director, Malcolm Pearson, is completely inept in his role and fails to listen to his clients, or make any attempt to understand or indeed address their concerns.
The second reason is the significant issues that we have experienced with ICA, the claims adjuster that Reason Global use.
ICA stands for ‘International Claims Agency’ and they lay claim to having ‘built up a strong reputation as experts in the field of all aspects of “goods in transit” claims management’. I would be extremely interested in ICA substantiating this hyperbole as I believe it bears no resonance in any way to their handling of claims.
They recently ‘opened a file’ for a £65 claim. By the time the policy excess was deducted, it would have amounted to a payment due of £15. The cost of opening the claim eclipsed the value of the claim itself, although this is difficult to confirm with any degree of certainty as their costs are hidden. Their willingness to get involved in matters that they do not need to would indicate that it is financially beneficially for them to do so.
They provide negligible support for the companies they aver to represent and fall over themselves to settle claims, without a substantive degree of due diligence having been observed.
There have been numerous occasions where we have stopped them settling claims that were either inflated, fraudulent or both.
All of this has been brought to Reason Global’s attention and Malcolm Pearson in particular has been completely apathetic to our protestations.
ICA are the primary reason that we are now leaving Reason Global, having been insured with them for several years. Our new broker, Gauntlet Group, are customer focussed and supportive, two things sadly missing from the service received from Reason Global.
