The moisture meter reads okay but the pH readings are suspect compared with a tester kit

Working perfectly well and particularly useful during this very warm and sunny spell. Will make use of pH meter later (or earlier in year). May need to read instructions but not sure if needs battery / is solar powered / or needs neither?? Many thanks.

Always showed spil as wet when I fact it was very dry. Lost several plants because of this.
