Avoid Rilla Hosting â Terrible Experience
Iâve had a consistently poor experience with Rilla Hosting. I first tested their services three years ago, hosting several websites with them. My sites frequently went down, and the worst part was the rude and arrogant attitude of the sole proprietor.
Fast forward to this week, I decided to give them another chance by managing an account for a client that had three domains. I made a payment to renew one of the domains, but the renewal didnât reflect. When I reached out via live chat, I was asked for an invoice number, which I couldnât immediately find. I explained that they should be able to access the invoice from their backend, as more reputable providers like Namecheap typically do. Instead of offering help, the support representative was extremely rude.
I had hoped their service had improved over the years, but itâs actually gotten worse. After leaving a negative review on Google based on my experience, I received a message from Rilla Hosting threatening service discontinuationâjust four days after renewing the domain. I was told I had 48 hours, then it was reduced to 24, and within just 8 hours, access to all the domains I paid for was cut off. Also, my âŠ15,900 is still with them and yet to get refund.
Thereâs no active support line or verifiable office address. My lawyer attempted to serve them a legal letter, only to discover there was no valid addressâjust a vague mention of âIbeju Lekkiâ on their site. He described it as a "mushroom business," and I now agree. The live chat is painfully slow, and I strongly suspect itâs just one person managing everything, switching admin names to appear as different support agents.
I have proof and screenshots to back up my claims. Government agencies are beginning to receive complaints about them. Please, avoid this company at all costs.

We are writing in response to a serious complaint involving the unjust restriction of access to three (3) fully paid domains belonging to our client, simply because he expressed dissatisfaction with your services in a public review.
This level of retaliatory action is entirely unacceptable. The customer has not violated any terms, breached any agreements, or defaulted on payments. Yet, you have chosen to suspend or interfere with access to domains that he legally owns and paid forâan action that may constitute a breach of contract and a violation of consumer protection laws in Nigeria.
Let it be clearly stated:
The customer will not transfer any of the three domains until their natural expiration.
You are hereby given a final deadline of 2 hours to fully restore access to all affected domains and ensure there is no further disruption.
This action must be reversed immediately. Your companyâs reputation across platforms like Nairaland, Trustpilot, and beyond is already suffering. Continuing this behavior only reinforces the pattern of misconduct being reported.
Should you fail to comply within the stated timeframe, we are prepared to escalate this matter legally and through appropriate regulatory channels.

Initially they started well but currently, it's a nightmare using them. I have lost a lot of clients due to Rilla's poor hosting infrastructure and it has cost me so much!

Their server has been down for five days now. Do you even know how much they made me lose in five days and are still counting? This is a hosting platform I will not advise even my enemies to trust. I can't even reach any of their customer care representatives or even get a response on their live chat. At least we should be able to migrate our files, even if they are now out of business.
