What a bloody nightmare! Where is there a environmentally friendly and people friendly place that you can just walk into with your ID and pay the money and signed the contract on the desk and be given your room number and buy the padlock and Hey Presto everything is sorted out and ready to use like it used to be?? All this HORRIBLE Multi online forms trudge, the colleagues work copout, which are always not thought out properly, I want two months, it offers it all in weeks which doesn't equal two months. I wanted from 16th which I started on at around 2 o'clock to book and by the time the form was forwarded and trying to get round the numbers which did not apply to me eventually filled the form in and pressed submit and the message stated "there is something wrong (and it has to be done all over again). So had to phone for another link! When I tried the second time 16th was not available because it had gone past a certain time of the day so I have to imagine a date and I put 22nd, that screws it up completely. I am the one paying, my son has the ID so it was in his name but Emails were supposed to come to me and they went to my son and they were absolutely loads of them asking for different things. I said I wanted it completed that day and then I see that there's going to be a contract which will take 24 hours and therefore it was not going to be done that day. I feel lucky now that I didn't see yet another damn message and instruction that I had to give an online signature, so I haven't signed it and thank heavens for that 'cause I'm gonna cancel the whole danmed lot.

It was an absolute nightmare, I need to find one that doesn't use online and has all the questions together and that when I press submit it actually takes it and not comes back with something wrong when I have to do it all over again. The charge was £1 for the first month but I had to pay almost £40 - What is that all about?. This is a whole waste of an hour and a half, I have to find a place that's Humane with humans working in it. I've been filling forms online for 25 years and this was the worst experience. It was hateful.

An absolute disgrace. My unit is on the top floor of the warehouse and without any warning they’ve replaced the roof directly over these units. Loads of units are flooded from the rain where the roof wasn’t yet in place, all of our items are absolutely covered in dust and debris. Also, the roofers had direct access to my items as they completely removed the roof above and could easily gain access. An absolutely dreadful lack of care for people’s items. It is beyond belief that they would do this. No warning, no chance to protect our personal items. So many units flooded. Literally the roof, less than a meter above my items, has been completely removed and replaced without my knowledge. Large screws now pointing down into my unit (with low ceiling height) at least 5cm of the screw sticking out, at least 20 screws like this and left so dangerously. Appalling.

11.4.22 Update: the manager contacted me and has changed my monthly payment to £266, which I'm really pleased about. He was very understanding and genuinely wanted to help. A massive thanks Darren, the store manager who looked into this for me.

8.4.22 Update: the store has contacted me and has told me that they will drop my monthly payment to £260 per month. I have asked for this in writing but am still waiting for confirmation of this.

I had to move out of my home due to the pandemic. Safestore offered me a storage unit for £170 per month of which I could afford. A few months after I had moved all my stuff in they wrote to me to say my prices would be going up to £240 per month. I told them this would be a struggle for me and they said there was nothing they could do. So I have been paying this price ever since while still trying to get back on my feet after the pandemic.
I then received another email stating that my prices would be increasing yet again. This time to £324 per month. My storage size hasn’t changed so I don’t understand how they can justify such a huge price increase. I called them almost in tears and was told to either move to another storage unit or sell my personal belongings.
I feel like they used very low prices to get me in and took complete advantage of me. I’m now having to try and sell all the items from my home on eBay and will struggle to feed myself and my daughter. I will never use them again! Absolutely savage
