New Boiler Install - Give them a try....

Landlord with large portfolio across central Scotland. I use Saltire for all my maintenance contracts. One telephone number for my tenants to call and has worked extremely well. In the past I have avoided Saltire for new boiler installs due to excessive costs however, recently John Higgins, Manager, said that Saltire could be competitive and we should look at them again. John's engineers installed new Vokera boiler and I was delighted with price, quality and timescales. Communication from John and the back office was also excellent and I would definitely consider using again for new boiler install.

Great service

Great service, I needed a new boiler fitted, called on Thursday and it was arranged for the following Tuesday with the help of John who got the quote sent to us quickly.Morgan fitted it and did a great job, even replacing part of the wall to make a better fixing point.I would recommend using saltire.

Boiler Inspection

Was due an annual gas boiler inspection. The engineer Jamie arrived and carried out the inspection. Really nice guy. Polite. Explained what he was doing throughout. Turned out my boiler wasn't safe to use. A new boiler fitting has been arranged. Offered to leave me a heater meantime if needed. Made sure I still had hot water. Great guy. Didn't make any mess. Job well done Jamie!

Engineer was prompt

Engineer was prompt, very knowledgeable and helpful. Turned out there was a problem with gas supply to our house. He contacted sgn and had them visit to remedy this then returned following week to Carry out service.

Would give them less stars if available
In or around February this year I had asked saltire to give me cover for boiler
They sent someone out to inspect boiler before I could get cover
Boiler was ten yrs old guy said basically it should be condemned he said he wouldn’t be happy if it was in his house
I already had cover with Scottish gas but they had put price up to 35£ a month I was looking for something cheaper
Because of what saltire said I switched off boiler and had no heating for two days in February. I called sg for them to come have a look
They said pressure was down and sorted it I explained re saltire but sg said boiler was fine and would prob run a few yrs yet but the thought was in my head my boiler needed replaced. I got a price from saltire I believe it was almost ( without checking email ) 3500 or near about
I enquired if I could get help thro Scottish government I was eligible and got a new boiler in April ( not from saltire )
I called saltire again to ask if they would now cover the boiler I explained it was a brand new boiler no need for any checks to be done just to come out to verify it was new and would they cover ( new boiler has warranty but bad reviews fir after care so to be sure I had cover was willing to pay )
Man came out I explained boiler was only six days old no need for service he had a look commented that the installers had done a good job very tidy. And said they would cover it
I set up dd that day and was happy
On same day I called Scottish gas to cancel the cover I had but because I had entered into a new contract in January with sg and had a repair done on the boiler in late Jan they said I either had to cover cost of repair or continue to pay the premiums until Jan as I could not cancel
I called back saltire to cancel dd and explained to girl on phone what had happened her response was oh we would not ever do that if u want to cancel there’s no charge etc I told her that come Jan I would go with them and cancel sg no problem
About two weeks later I received an invoice from saltire for 60£ to pay for the service that was not done
I called spoke to a woman who told me I had a service done and because I never took the cover I had to pay for service
I explained it was beyond my control conversation went on a bit she then said she couldn’t deal with this and said she would get the boss to call me
Today I got that call not from the boss but from who knows a worker or someone he explained that the boss had decided to not charge me for the invoice even tho I had had a service done
I explained what had happened and said I didn’t feel I owed them anything anyway as service had not been done. He just kept repeating I was told it was a service they were doing Etc but why would I want a service on a six day old boiler
End of conversation I asked him would I have issues if I phoned in Jan to cover boiler and was told yes. Your address will not get cover from saltire
He said calls were recorded and I did agree to a service being done
Can I just say to saltire this is no way to run a business Common sense should have kicked in here but u actually done me a favour. After reading reviews on trustpilot I wouldn’t come to u now if you paid me
I would also like to add why I was not billed for first time u came out and basically condemned my boiler I didn’t take a contract and u didn’t charge for service
Continuity. I think not.
You can come back with anything you like but I will also be posting on social media and never will I refer anyone to use your company

From start to finish the men who fitted…

From start to finish the men who fitted the boiler were professional, courteous and made sure we understood how to use the new boiler. We have used Saltire for almost 20 years and any time we had to call them out they were quick to respond always solved any issues. I have encouraged family and friends to join Saltires service scheme .

AVOID Maintenance Contract with this Company!!
2 separate properties advised boilers needed part but could no longer get it. Told I needed a new boiler.
Independent Engineer fixed problem in 20 minutes on both occasions and both boilers are working perfectly.
Six years paying a Service Contract to a Company who do not want to repair just push you into buying a new, very expensive boiler.
Rip Off. Both contracts cancelled. When I called to cancel person on phone could not care less.

Amazing Service

After our boiler died I searched for the best deals on the internet for a new one and the best by far was Saltire. The surveyor John Higgins came out and after going over the options he gave us a tremendous deal not just on the boiler but also a 10 year maintenance plan. There was no hard sell and he advised us not to rush into a decision just to let him know what we decided when we were ready. An installation date was set and the engineer Mark, text me to let me know he was on his way. The work was carried out quickly and efficiently by the engineer, electrician and roofer who were all lovely and explained exactly what they were doing. Following installation the engineer went through all the controls and made sure I was happy before he left. Everything was left clean and tidy. John phoned later to make sure I was happy and said there was a gap at the flue where the old flue had been (I hadn’t even noticed it), so he would send a joiner to cover it the next day, which he did. John left me his number and told me to contact him should I have any problems or needed any advice. The service I received from Saltire was excellent and I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Reliable Service

Have just had our boiler repaired and serviced with Saltire. Both chaps , Michael did repair and Craig completed the service , were both very competent and respectful of our home.
A pleasure to have them in our home and have since set up a yearly service plan at a very competitive price !
Job well done Saltire!

I'm with trust housing and had a gas…

I'm with trust housing and had a gas leak so the guys from saltire were called in and john and Ross and another guy went above and beyond too track and repair the fault I can't recommend this company enough it's been stressful but happy with the end result thanks again guys first class work.

I have done work experience with…

I have done work experience with saltire for a few weeks now and it is something I want to make a career out of. Everyone is calm and polite with you and won’t hesitate to teach you things about the company and the service. Anytime I have been out on site my tradesman has taught me something new about becoming a gas engineer and is brilliant with the tenant.

Great Service, came when they said and good price

My 20 year old boiler collapsed at 10pm with water pouring out over the kitchen. Saltire team travelled from Coatbridge to Portobello in 50 mins and turned everything off. The next day the designer turned up at agreed time and designed a replacement solution for a good price. Two days later team showed up and installed new boiler when they said they would and left the place spic and span. Excellent service from Morgan (heating engineer) and Peter (joiner) and the team. Would recommend no problem

High Gas Bill for July

Returned from holiday having been informed of a high Gas bill to find laminate flooring had warped badly. Established that the comb-boiler was on continuously. Saltire responded within hours to establish a leak in hot water supply. Leak identified and repaired once flooring had been lifted. Outstanding service by all concerned

This company have been marvellous

This company have been marvellous. My mum (who has now passed away) had great service from Saltire. They were always so prompt coming out when she needed help with her boiler. Even at all hours of the day. Thank you so much! We have now set up with Saltire ourselves now.

From start to finish excellent

From start to finish the service has been excellent. Initial chat, no hard sell just information and advice to enable me to make an informed choice. On fitting day guys arrived on time, and worked nonstop until whole system was installed, checked and working perfectly. All Rubbish was picked up and removed from outside within an hour of the job finishing. Highly recommend if your needing your boiler replaced

Really outstanding service

Really outstanding service. A real cut above the rest when dealing with central heating companies in the past. First met with a surveyor named John. He was knowledgeable, professional courteous, and provided a solution to my complex heating issues. The price was so much better than the 2 other quotes I obtained and the internal flue work box cover, trunking and boiler installation was completed to an exacting standard/finish A+ excellent.

The installation due to its complexity took Best part of of the day and my partner said the the tradesman left no mess and showed her how everything worked and tested everything.
I am so pleased I went with my instinct and chose this company!

I can highly recommend and would use again in the future.
