We (my wife, our two sons aged 7 and 9, and myself) took the Cairo Day Tour by Plane on October 30th, and it was, without a doubt, the highlight of our trip. Sharm Smile delivered a truly exceptional, five-star experience from start to finish.

The Private Tour Upgrade: Essential Value

The decision to pay extra for a private tour was absolutely the right one, and I highly recommend it to any family. The small premium was totally worth it, as it allowed us to tailor the itinerary to our children's pace and specific interests. The freedom to spend as much time as we needed at key sites, like the museum, was invaluable.

Logistics and Travel Comfort

We also opted to pay extra for EgyptAir flights, which was a smart choice. Our outbound flight was perfectly on time, and the return flight was only 40 minutes late, which is fantastic for Egyptian domestic travel. The logistics on the ground were seamless. Mohammed, who runs the Sharm office, picked us up in the morning and dropped us back at the hotel late in the evening. Both he and our tour guide, Ahmed, spoke impeccable English, they were very polite, and genuinely interested in making our experience ideal.

In Cairo, we were picked up and driven in an air-conditioned minibus which was spotless and well-stocked with plenty of complimentary water.

Our Phenomenal Guide: Ahmed

The true star of the day was our guide, Ahmed. His English was absolutely perfect—clear, easy to understand, and engaging. We spent a very informative two hours at the original Egyptian Museum of History, and Ahmed brought ancient Egypt to life for both the adults and our two young boys. He provided a wealth of insightful information, covering everything from antiquity and the different historical periods to the secrets of the Pyramids and the Sphinx. He answered every question with enthusiasm and depth.

The private nature of the tour meant we could linger, which was perfect, especially with children. We also enjoyed a short, lovely boat trip on the beautiful Nile River. The weather was perfect, which capped off a lovely day in Cairo.

Summary

Every member of our family was extremely satisfied. The itinerary, the freedom we had, the delicious lunch, and the professionalism of both our driver, Mohammed and our guide Ahmed made this a flawless excursion. If you are considering a Cairo day trip, book the private option with Sharm Smile Tour and ask for Mohammed and/or Ahmed—you won't regret it!

The experience of the two tours Sharm city and water sports we booked as a family was a fabulous and memorable one thanks to Nabil who went beyond and above to make us feel comfortable.His excellent knowledge of the history of the local area ,his personality, high levels of customer service and communication skills is the best we’ve received so far in Egypt.I will book with Sharm Smile a thousand times over again and I recommend Nabil as a guide to anyone who wants to experience any of the tours in Egypt.

We visited St Catherine Monastery with a private car, driver and Nabil as our guide. Passage through the many checkpoints was a breeze and the 3h roadtrip was cut up in very managable chunks by stopping for a roadside coffee on the way up and lunch and a mini citytrip to Dahab on the way back.

Nabil is more than a guide, everywhere he goes, monastery or city, one out of three locals walks up to shake hands and greet him. He's very modest on the subject, but you can really feel he knows the land and his way around.

He also has a wide general knwoledge about Egypt, religion and history in general, which makes for great conversations on the road between the visits!

Communication beforehand and for pickup was very smooth through WhatsApp. Almost as smooth as the driver, whose very secure driving managed to rock us to sleep several times on the long winding roads.

Nabil and Sharm Smile tours were excellent to work with, as they were helpful, knowledgeable, professional and very safe.

Our private tour began with being picked up for a private tour from our hotel in a very clean and comfortable minivan, accompanied by a provided security guard. Our Guide Nabil was outstanding. He has extremely knowledgeable about the monastery, but also taught us a lot about the culture and the geography from Sharm to St. Catherine. The site is truly a can’t miss visit that is incredible. On the way back to Sharm we were taken to an amazing restaurant in Dahab the served one of the best meals we had on an excellent trip to Egypt. This day tour was absolutely one of the highlights of our trip. We highly recommend Nabil and Sharm Smile Tour. I would book them again without any hesitation.
