SMART MODELS
I ordered some items for my Dad (four sets of four "OO" size 3D printed items). Obviously, my Dad being an enthusiast, knew which size he wanted, and therefore how small these would be. He also knew from the magazine ad that he'd need to paint them himself. So far, so good.
This is where it starts to fall short. At prices ranging from £7.99 - £10.99 for these tiny items, there was then a "shipping" charge of £2.00 per set (so an extra £8.00 charge on top).
We thought this was a bit steep (considering that they were only coming from Tyne & Wear, and I only pay about £5.00 from much larger and heavier items from Germany and the USA). Also, we both agreed that these four sets would most likely be packaged together in a small bag or box.
Imagine our lack of surprise when this indeed happened (they came in one small bag, containing four small boxes) and a £1.25 postage label on the front of the bag.
My Dad wants to keep the items, but has said that he won't order anything else from the company.
On the plus side, the items came very fast...but I don't think that the four lots of postage (when the items were packaged together in one small bag) can be justified.
