lovely food and good service! :)

Good fresh food, easy to order and delivered on time by friendly helpful drivers. Individual boxed lunches are well received to be "covid safe". One Gluten Free colleague said it was the best lunch she had been given when out on sites. Good for different dietary needs.
Good communication and administration. Will use again!

I have used this company for a good while now and always get lovely feed back from the Managers that i arrange the buffets for. The service and presentation is exceptional even during lockdown.

Easy to use service and great range of hampers

The company I work for sent all of it's employees a "White Christmas Festive Hamper" Wellbox, this year, to compensate for the lack of Christmas party, due to Covid. We were invited via email to click on a link to arrange delivery, and make dietary choices e.g. Gluten Free, Non-Alcoholic, etc. This part of the process was pretty straight forward but I was surprised there was no indication of when the parcel would be sent. With people working part of the time from home, and part of the time in the office, as well as people taking annual leave, this posed a bit of a problem for some, when choosing the delivery address to use.

An email was received by some people, but not others, when the parcels were dispatched, but it wasn't immediately obvious the email was in relation to the hampers as it came from a company called Caribou. This left a lot of people wondering when their hampers would arrive.

When the hampers did arrive they were extremely disappointing, and everyone seemed to get different items. The box the items were packed in, was far too big, and could have easily been half the size, reducing the impact on the environment and the postal service. Some people had lots of protective foam pellets in their boxes and some just had a handful, which made the package look rather pathetic.

My hamper contained;

1 bottle of Elderflower Presse,
1 Mince Pie,
1 jar of Houmous
1 tiny bag of Olives,
1 jar of Jam
1 tiny bag of dried Mango,
2 Tea Bags
1 Christmas Cracker
1 very cheap, not at all like the photo on the website, Christmas Hat

I only hope that the meal being donated to a local person in need, is not as lousy as the contents of the box.

I certainly would not recommend my company use this service again, as I imagine it is not a very good reflection of the intended sentiment.

Update following the response from SC:

Having found the list of items I should have received (on the South Catering website) it appears 90% of the items I received are as listed. However I did not receive the "I Love Snacks 70% Dark Belgian Chocolate", instead I got 40g of dehydrated Mango (very festive). I still believe my company has been grossly overcharged for what has been delivered.

Having spoken to others, to see what their experience is, they are of the same opinion, despite some of them receiving more food items than I did, in place of the rubbish hat and cracker.

As for the quote from SC about this being a "Free Gift"... it wasn't free, our company paid good money for it to replace the Christmas party which couldn't take place. A very poor and sarcastic response in my opinion.

Not convinced about the cardboard shortage excuse either. Other companies don't appear to be suffering from this shortage. Maybe plan better next year!

I ordered a box for a colleague as a surprise. Thre contents were wrong and the message too. He had no idea what was going on. Contacted the support team. Said they can't help. Wouldn't recommend

We were late to order these items for a staff gift so the choice was limited. Having said that, ordering was easy and the procedure to then upload the individual delivery details was simple.
The fact this company offers very competitive Products, is good but to then have the "Giving Back" commitment is amazing.
