I ran a Sportfunder campaign that ended nearly 2 months ago. Despite donors receiving confirmation emails and the campaign showing the total raised, the funds have never been paid out.

Support is completely unresponsive, and there is no payout option on the dashboard. I have found multiple other cases online with the exact same issue — this platform seems to be holding funds without delivering them.

This is a scam. Anyone considering using Sportfunder, don't......

I do not recommend using Sportfunder.

There is no reliable way to contact them. They have a chat link on their website, but they never respond. I have sent multiple emails with questions and never received a reply. The only way I’ve been able to get information has been through my own research — not from their support team.

Although their FAQ mentions that it can take up to 10 business days after a campaign ends to transfer funds, and their handbook references 10–15 business days, this information is not clearly presented during the campaign creation process. This is critical information for families fundraising for time-sensitive events.

It is also not clearly specified during setup that using PayPal is recommended or that payouts are processed through PayPal in a way that could affect timing. Had this been clearly explained when creating the campaign, I would have set up my PayPal differently from the beginning. This is something that should be transparent upfront.

I ended my campaign on February 15, 15 days before I needed the funds. As of today, I still have not received the money. On top of that, they do not appear to treat the campaign as officially closed on the exact end date, which seems to add additional delay.

Because of this lack of clarity, I had to borrow money while waiting for the funds to arrive.

If you need the money by a specific date, I strongly recommend ending your campaign at least a month in advance to avoid financial stress.

I will update this review once I receive the funds to share exactly how long the transfer actually took.

Very disappointing experience.

Avoid, it's a scam. I created a campaign for my sister last year and never received the money. I sent several e-mails but no response. AVOID!

This website isn't real. It's a fraud site and should be avoided.

My own experience of the site is I created a funding page for my local cricket club and kick-started the campaign with a couple of payments from my own personal account.

I cancelled the payments after two, but they continued to take payments. I contacted them several times via their chat and via email and had no response, I did the same from the club funder page, with the same result.

I closed my personal account and they continued to take payments! The campaign ended and there has been no dispersement.

I have now contacted my own credit card company and launched a claim, I have furthermore reported to Action Fraud and iCann.

Please avoid this website. It's not real.
