Poor customer service and completely lacking integrity!: Rang them early today for additional pre purchase product information and to discuss potential concerns concerning my personal intended use of the particular product concerned. The customer service person who said his name was Stuart/Stewart, (sp.?), was obviously just going through the motions and was officious, lacking proper concern and empathy and almost entirely unhelpful, leaving me in the situation as he advocated of trying the product and returning it to the seller if it did not satisfactorily meet my requirements, instead of giving me the information I needed, in doing so referring to my intended seller, Amazon having a very good returns policy! Obviously I was ringing them to try to prevent unnecessary problems for myself with this purchase and an unnecessary return to the seller! I had great difficulty trying to get what apeared to be the reliable information I needed from this person and to try to counteract this I had felt obliged to quote other people's apparent reasons for the same concerns as myself from their reviews of the same Startech product I was looking to buy relating to the adequacy or otherwise of the manufacturer's included power supply which seems inadequate on a rating basis; although advertised as tested by the manufacturer in excess of my intended usage this usage in itself would appear to draw arguably too much power for reliable operation but this customer service person unfortunately did not seem to adequately know what he was talking about in not properly understanding or relating to my definitely very real concerns! Being reminded of a previous bad customer service situation from Startech concerning a previous different Startech product and being similarly treated but having ended up in an even worse seriously negative situation entirely of Startech's causation because of wrong product description followed by inadequate after sales support having actually purchased that particular product, I politely expressed my concerns over the way Startech treats it's customers and potential customers as in this case today. Things then turned nasty on his part, so I then said his allegation then made of my having been talking against him was untrue as could be confirmed from listening to the call, and i wanted to complain about him, and asked him for his name, given above, as he had then told me they are not allowed to give surnames when I asked him for that! He then told me my complaint would be passed to either a or his manager, I am not certain now afterwards whether he had actually said to a or his manager at the time, but this is obviously not material, before he then said he was ending the call as it was going nowhere! The circumstances of this complaint and the complaint itself being anything like properly dealt with cannot at all be trusted and relied upon as no identity or contact details whatsoever had been taken from me prior to him ending the call, nor were or are otherwise available to Startech in order to process such complaint, making it absalutely and completely impossible for such complaint to be dealt with at all with such complete anonymity on my side concerning my conversation with him, so going by this experience unfortunately a firm with absalutely zero integrity in it's dealings with customers or potential customers! I have found the quality of StarTech products is very high, and coupled with detailed user instructions and any drivers needed. Also the items include all the screws and cables likely needed to complete the install.
Writing this review as I have just purchased a 2 Drive Trayless Hot Swap SATA Rack and was very impressed with the design and construction. Credit where it's due.
So far no need to contact them so can't speak for the customer services team.

They will listen to your needs, requests and seek to fill these to a high degree. If you have already an idea of what you want this is the place to go. I have in the past 10 years bought a previously leased MacBook Pro.
Loved it it gave me years of service. I bought here my current DELL Latitude, an amazingly resilient top brand. As with any computer, pheripherals, gaming and virtually anything computer StarTech should be your first choice. They are my first choice and I would not ever consider any other dealer but StarTech.

I have reached out to this company now 3 times to get a replacement power adapter for my docking station as it is no longer working/defective and their customer service continually brushes me off saying they can't supply or let me buy one and then disconnects me. This is the WORST customer service I've ever had.

I purchased two USB hubs & both did not work. I tried them on multiple computers. When I contacted the seller, they refused to exchange or refund due to being past 30 days from the purchase.

I ordered this from Amazon. StarTech USB C Multiport Docking Station (DKT30CHVGPD), Order #111-3513616-9176241. I had some questions about some of the functionality and contacted Startech Chat and the experience was amazing. They answered all my questions. Of course I have many Startech items, but I never had to contact them before. You can't go wrong with Startech purchases.

I can only go off my experience, I bought one of their products from another supplier, I had issues with it and there customer support was fantastic, even followed up with an email days later to check all was well. I have a number of their products which I'm more than happy with. Well done staff at startech.
Poor service and Product
I bought a asus gaming laptop which didn't work well in 1 year. I have to come twice for service. But third time they said it will take 21 days. Since i am a student, i have not been able to join online class during pandemic. I have suffered a lot. I request them a lot to consider my situation its not my fault.the problem is in their product. I am totally disappointed with their behaviour.
Great products, and even better service
Was having issues connecting my 2020 Intel MacBook Pro 13inch to an external display - my newly purchased (non-StarTech) 8k USB-C to DisplayPort cable would not switch my display on under any scenario. Whether I switched on from power off, or on from standby/sleep mode, my display would not wake. I would have to disconnect and reconnect while powered on to make it work.
After talking to StarTech technical twice on the phone, I decided to try a USB-C to DisplayPort adapter with charge point (CDP2DP14UCPB), and a male-male DisplayPort lead (DP12MM1M). Ordinarily I would go for a single cable to connect rather than an adapter and cable, but I thought it's worth a try, as Apple's technical support couldn't offer me a working solution, other than to use their VGA adapter!
I received the items today, plugged them in, and they worked first time! I've tried from powered off and standby/sleep mode, and works every time! No more plugging/unplugging!
The adapter is small and curved with a gloss finish. Looks fairly well made, and the DisplayPort cable has latching connectors on both ends so can't be disconnected accidentally.
The cables themselves seem fairly flexible which is good, I don't believe in rigid cables for this scenario. I would have preferred a matte finish to the adaptor but that's just me.
I've used StarTech products before as well as their technical support over the phone, and they have always been extremely knowledgeable and helpful. And it doesn't matter whether or not you've bought from them directly or need advice, they will help you find the right product for your needs.
Their products are great value, work every time, and go on working for years. I still own a StarTech USB hard drive caddy which still works to this day.

After purcahsing the product on there green signal I bought the hard drives and duing upgrade when you will lose the data from there faulty products they will pass the blame on to you and say we are not the recovery company.
The fact is that my products are still under warranty take you faulty products or refund.

Startech has the best quality and reasonably priced products and adapters. They are explained very clearly in the product description. They have excellent customer support too! I spent months trying to find the right solution for my pc and monitors set up and Startech had the perfect solution.

I had a new device, which was not working. The customer support had no waiting time and the gave me a lot of time to find the problem, to check the item, but also connected items. they were friendly and in no way patronising. If I need something else and Startech has it - I will buy it.

The products that are being sold are at reasonable prices but the staff aren't so cooperative and the delivery services are very poor for example the delivery service has huge delay there time management is very horrible with poor communication system.
Review of customer service
I ordered from the website directly and was immediately phoned by a CSR to fix a shipping error. This CSR also saved me money on the product and shipping by directing me to the best buying/shipping options. After the call she was very prompt with e-mail correspondence. She truly went above and beyond.
Diagnostic
Independent Ebespacher hydronic heater on my MB Sprinter stopped working and I needed a diagnostic to find out why. The service was booked and provided following day. The end result: paid £91 for 15min of their time. The heater could not be diagnosed (no data) and no other fault reported.
Personal view: I would be ashamed to charge any of my customer for offering no answer to their problem.
