As far as I can see,this is a fundraising campaign group raising money to support progressive ecological and socially responsible causes world wide. I donate (always one off) because I support those causes and otherwise wouldn't donate. As regards Gaza it's about as clear as anything could be that Israel has indeed murdered more than 40,000 civilians (many if not most of whom are children). Whatever heinous crimes have been committed by Hamas (also against civilians) this is no way justifies that murder, and I support all efforts to help the poor people caught up in the conflict. If you think differently, you are not compelled to donate.

These people are scammers.Made 1 UK 2 pound donation and they then proceded to take un-authorized payments of 14,19,12,15,15 UK pounds.
Had to cancel my credit card and obtain a new number.
My bank refunded the un-autherized payments.

I opted in @ £1/ for a good cause 2/3 years ago and not knowing that it was so so soooo difficult to contact them and cancel my monthly donation.
I know its only a £1/month, but I have no clue whatsoever, who or what I am supporting, whether I agree with it or not and do not get any emails whatsoever & never have! They were based in Ireland last time I looked so could be the IRA for all I know!
To me this is now a matter of using my money for whatever ends they deem necessary without my permission and so I just want out!

Have finally instructed my bank to not pay it anymore as there seems to be no contactability/accessibility to get to them. In doing this, I am also told that if 'Sum of us' continue to try & take my money per month, the bank will refund it - seems extremely weird that they would do this and am therefore extremely annoyed that should this happen, they will still get the money and again without any permission from me or accountability to me as to where this money goes or is spent.

Interestingly, I see at the bottom of this 'review' an email for them, which I will now write to to stop my subscription.

Folks, this org is a 501(c)(4) non-profit. That means donations are not tax-deductible in most cases, so don't expect ratings on charity monitors, which are for tax deductible 501(c)(3) orgs. However, it also means they can lobby corporations and officials, which is part of their good work harnessing consumer pressure for corporate enviro-social responsibility. Info re contacts and financial accountability is available at their site in the "about" and FAQ sections. They are mostly crowd funded. You can request a donation receipt. Four stars rather than five because though they are a financially trustworthy org, they could do a better job of presenting themselves as such, perhaps with ratings somewhere.

I have donated $310.00 Canadian for 2022.
I am doing my taxes.
I did not receive a donation receipt to submit to the CRA.
I phoned the number on my VISA bill. No such number.
Try the information person. They have never heard of SUMOFUS.
Talked to a VISA agent. No record of SumOfUs.
So who are you?
Looked you up on the internet. Aha! So that is who you are?
My guess is you DO NOT give tax receipts. And why might that be? Your finances are a secret? From those of us who are supporting you?

Impossible to contact SumofUs. All efforts to unsubscribe from their wretched emails fail as "this site is not secure" or "This is undeliverable". Foolishly, I have donated to causes in the past, just small sums, but caught up in the moment. This is an unaccountable organisation, of dubious nature, which has no recognised UK charitable status - I have just checked with the Charity Commission for England and Wales.

I'm truly let down. All the winds have left my charitable sails. I need to know more information now. They have people working in the front lines. I struggle to keep them working if there is a secret agenda woven into their passionate Ads. I now feel as vulnerable as the Orangutans and elephants we are trying to save. Please Please Please... Tell me I'm wrong.

I have donated to them on a number of occasions. However they are totally non-transparent.
Neither Charity Navigator nor Charity Watch has any information about them. Apparently they do not feel the need to inform donors of how they spend their money, how much the administrators take, how much they spend for each dollar that they use for the causes. They have been attacked by Corporate Apologists, and here on Trust Pilot some of the negative reviews are BS political attacks.
I have unsubscribed from them because claiming to do good is not enough. We need to know the facts.

I will not send any money and it will take more money out of bank account it mention of one payment once its said to make $20 dollars and it will keep takeing payment out you can block this email the three dots in the right hand click on that and a box will open click block and you should not get any more emails from them then go to you bank and tell them some one in USA took money out of your bank account

I have made numerous attempts to unsubscribe to SumOfUs using the means provided by the organisation. None has been sucessful and SumOfUs continues to extract a monthly subscription from my credit card. SumOfUs makes high sounding moral claims but, in my experience, is a scam and undeserving of support

In a world with extremes of wealth and power where some multinationals take advantage of their position to extract greater profits regardless of the environmental damage being done I have yet to be disappointed in Sumofus and their campaigning. I do not always donate when signing, but when doing so ensure it is a one off payment. I have not had any moneys taken without my consent and will continue to support them whenever I believe the cause to be just and appropriate.

Those people giving one star reviews for that reason are making false accusations.

I have never had any issues making one off donations and find this a worthwhile organisation. As for 'left leaning', well they are just fighting for the rights of the downtrodden people in life, and that often goes with the territory.....

Many of the reviews here are complaining that Sum of Us are left-leaning, which they are. They campaign for ordinary people's rights and to protect the environment. This naturally often means criticising big multinationals and therfore, implicitly, the worst of capitalism. All their campaings are based on fact though and aim for tangible outcomes. I have supported them in the past and had no problems with donations being processed correctly. I would recommend them if you agree which their campaigns, which personally, I do.

An absolutely shocking mob! they are stealing money out of your account as soon as you have anything to do with them! And it is impossible to stop it unless you get your bank to stop the unauthorised credit card payments. The logins conveniently never work!

I received an email 11/7/21 from SumOfUs complaining about the former president and soliciting donations. I researched them to find that this is a left leaning, globalist, anti-Israel organization with George Soros among their ranks. Stay away.

They have plenty of causes that are fine and good, but I feel like some should be questioned. For example: Recently they posted about the case against apple and human rights and how they would have to disclose it to their shareholders. So the us regulatory body made it so that only people with a certain threshold of stocks can get the info, and the rest of the plebs would be left out. So they are asking us to donate so they can buy a certain amount of stock. except, what happens to that stock after its been purchased? is it then donated back? or are we making this organization rich.? seems highly suspicious to me.

Donated several times. No problem. If you read the form and make sure your donation is for a one time and check the correct box. Ive never been billed twice. Cheers.

The cause they were collecting for seemed laudable, so I contributed a small amount, only to discover that I had been signed up for a MONTHLY donation. However, I had taken care to click on the button that said 'One time donation', or words to that effect. While this could conceivably have been an error on their part, my suspicions have been aroused . . .

An unethical, biased, one-sided group promoting a political anti-Israel/Pro-Hamas agenda - using hateful, inciting vitriol ("Israel murders and brutalizes Palestinians daily...") that would invariably add to further stirring up anti-Semitism.
