Horrendous - give them a wide berth
Where do I start with this one.
We called the company to say we wanted a Vauxhall Corsa, listed as excellent condition for £1300 cash sale.
When we arrived to purchase the car we were told there is a 7% fee for paying cash, which amounted to nearly £100. As my previous vehicle had been scrapped and I was in desperate need of a vehicle I paid the sum, under duress (which was later refunded when my husband made threats to report them).
They didn’t have any of the paperwork for the vehicle so I had to go to the post office with them to register it in my name to enable me to take it away. They paid the £25 fee, which you would expect.
Now to the car….
It absolutely reeks of diesel, I was told that they had been ferrying Jerry cans in the vehicle and the smell would go, it hasn’t, it’s still prevalent.
The front passenger headlamp had blown, the reverse light only works intermittently and I have had to change the battery.
Now to the serious issues - within two weeks of having this “excellent car” I got an engine misfire issue and had to call out the RAC, I was shocked to see that someone had tried to “fudge” one of the spark plugs back into place, and the engine coil was nearly on its way out, this could have caused a spark, and a catastrophic engine fire. I had the coil and the plugs replaced at a cost of £272.
Now the battery had also cost me £140. So our running total including the blown headlamp is £425.
Fast forward to this week, driving into work, and my exhaust physically falls off. No warning, no time or place to stop, just falls right off. I managed to pull over to a safe place and was towed home, the cost for this = £500, it needs a complete new exhaust system fitted.
I have written an email of complaint, and a request for the service history as I will be taking this further with the company that serviced this car.
What started out as a perfect little runaround has resulted in £1300 + £925 so far, my heart sinks to think what else is going to go wrong with it.
No wonder they were eager to sell me their “excellent warranty package” at £50 per month, and does beg the question - do they know about these serious and catastrophic faults when selling the cars to the unsuspecting souls that they are selling to?
My family has had to help me out with these repair costs, being in the NHS means I am on minimum wage and do actually need this car but I wonder how much more I’m going to have to shell out.
Oh dear
Oh dear. I wouldn’t recommend this company. Bought 2 cars from them last summer and have had continual problems with both vehicles. New batteries for both (even though one was supposedly new), clutch, timing chain and turbo problems on one and various other things on the other. Six months of unexpected expense and inconvenience….and more expected
Purchased a 2016 Nissan Quashqai…
Purchased a 2016 Nissan Quashqai (£7400). I paid for a trade rate service and they supplied the car with a new MOT and 2 new back tyres. I Had to bring the car back to SSC the week after for Air Con regas/repair because it was blowing warm air and had TPMS faults indicator. 31 Days after my purchase the engine light came on due to faulty fuel injector pump. I brought the car back to SSC to be repaired. SSC had the car for 2 weeks and claimed repair cost on the warranty I paid £400 for. I Had the car back for a week and then engine light came on again. Due to the light returning I requested to reject the car they offered me 0.54p per mile, and after I declined and counter offered, they then reduced their offer down to the legal fair limit of 0.45p per mile, they offered no reimbursement for the upsold warranty even though it saved them £600 in repair costs.
In total owning this car for 3 months lost me £1000 in mileage charges, £400 in upsold warranty, £100 trade service and my expenses for bringing the car back and forth to be repaired. As a customer putting down a significant amount of money on a car you d like to think when you drive it away it s solid and doesn t bring up any issues.
The staff I dealt with were polite and responsive. However when escalating to the legal team for support in rejecting the car and negotiating repurchase, I felt the offer lacked fairness and consideration of the inconvenience it has caused me.
Ive since returned this car to SSC
Very poor experience
Very negative experience unfortunately. I bought a Nissan Qashqai from SSC five months ago. The car was fine for the first month then developed a significant fault where every few days it juddered significantly and stalled without warning.
I notified SSC and they offered to repair it. I took the car to them and they called the next day to say they couldn't replicate the fault and hadn't found anything wrong with the car. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and picked the car up, but the fault then reoccurred again a day or two later. I messaged SSC again and they denied all liability on the basis that they had already looked at the car and found nothing wrong. I then took the car to my local Nissan garage and they found three major faults that needed urgent repair and would cost £1400.
I told SSC this and asked to return the car and they responded through their lawyers who continue to deny SSC has any liability. So now I'm forced to try and go to court to get a refund for a car that was sold to me needing thousands of pounds of repairs.
Unfortunately it appears that SSC doesn't do proper mechanical inspections of cars before selling them or even if they're returned for repair. I should have just paid a bit more to buy from the authorized Nissan dealer up the road. I will update this review as this progresses.

Recently purchased an Astra from Surrey specialist cars. I was made to fell welcome from initial phone call to collecting car . I dealt with mark who was great and answered all my questions as it has been a while since I purchased a car.
Very friendly office environment
Very friendly office environment, everyone was really cheerful and deciding on my new car was an enjoyable experience!
Had to use the warranty which I purchased about 2 months after picking up the car, but the manager was very helpful and saved me talking to the garage about it, I just picked the car up once the work was completed.
Worst company I have ever dealt with
Absolutely the worst company I’ve ever dealt with. They sell poor-quality cars, slap on a quick polish, and pass them off as reliable — it’s dishonest and unacceptable. Once the sale is done, they vanish. No support, no accountability, and zero respect for their customers.
Communication? Nonexistent. They ignore concerns and act like they’ve done nothing wrong, even when the issues are obvious. It’s infuriating.
If you value your money, your time, or your sanity — stay far away. I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone. If I could give zero stars, I would without hesitation.
What began as a purchase of a BMW 1…
What began as a purchase of a BMW 1 Series in December 2024 quickly spiraled into a nightmare involving serious safety concerns and evidence of dealership misconduct.
Pre-Existing Faults and Managerial Negligence
Within a month, the car's motor starter failed. I took it to my local garage, and they were shocked to find 14 problems with the vehicle. Crucially, I had been smelling coolant through the air conditioning and constantly having to top it up. Despite bringing this concern to the Service Center (SSC) months prior, they failed to diagnose the problem.
When the coolant completely emptied overnight, I called the manager. I explained the urgency and that I would be traveling with my five-month-old daughter on a three-hour drive to the dealership, necessitating frequent stops to refill the coolant. The manager, claiming extensive BMW experience, advised me to fill the system with water and drive the car, assuring me it wouldn't cause a problem.
Motorway Breakdown and Zero Apology
I followed his negligent advice. Just 10-15 minutes onto the motorway, the car went into limp mode, decelerating from 60 mph to 40 mph, and overheated with my daughter and boyfriend inside. Thankfully, I was in the slow lane and managed to pull off safely.
When I called the manager livid, he showed zero concern or apology for the dangerous situation he put my family in. He simply demanded a picture of the mileage. When I asked him to put his advice about using water in writing (which I've repeated in every subsequent email), he stalled, knowing their calls aren't recorded.
Misuse and Dishonesty Regarding Repairs
The car was collected at 6 AM, but thanks to an Apple AirTag I had installed, I tracked its movements. It only arrived at the SSC at 2 PM, having been parked outside an area for hours. When I questioned the manager about this delay and the car's changing location, he simply brushed off the question.
The tracking revealed continuous dishonesty about the repairs:
1. My car was repeatedly driven around the local area and even parked for hours in the town centre car park, near the local garage, when I was told they don't work weekends. The car was broken and was clearly being misused.
2. In the third week of having the car, the AirTag showed it finally went into a garage for repairs, which the manager confirmed only after I provided the exact date.
3. Even more concerning, the AirTag showed the car was driven to a private residential address (including the house number/name) and parked there for an extended period.
When I complained to the finance team about the extra miles racked up, I was told it was for "road testing." If it weren't for the AirTag, I shudder to think how many customers this dealer and their local garage are doing this to.
This dealership is not only guilty of negligence that endangered my family but also of misusing a customer's broken vehicle. Avoid at all costs.
