Definitely not the best
Visited the Washington charging station, went online to charge and the £45 holding fee was taken immediately then it wouldnât start. Called customer services (the woman was lovely) and they said the units donât charge via online, but the website allowed me to enter all the details and it took my money anyway?
4 days later and still no refund, when I didnât even charge is disgraceful. Thatâs just greed, Gridserve an Fastned refund immediately!!
Charged my car in Taunton
Charged my car in Taunton, Somerset Tuesday evening whilst meeting family. Will never use them again. Thereâs no information on how to use them. The app isnât very clear and they take a holding fee just like all the others. But unlike all the others Iâve used they hold it for days to gather interest for themselves instead of giving it back at the end of the charge.
Which Iâd read these reviews before. And I see Swarco havenât responded to anyone despite most been 1 star reviews. Any company would have responded to try and boost ratings but seems money talks to the board members not the customers
These car chargers not for for purpose
These car chargers not for for purpose. Took money from me 3 times with no charge. Then couldnât get through to speak to someone then eventually when i did they told me the charger was probably broken because it hadnât been used for 5 months and my money would take a week to come back to me. Terrible machines, no maintenance , poor customer service and frankly, daylight robbery. Nice they have over £100 sitting in their accounts gathering interest for a week while Iâm left skint!
If you turn up at a Swarco chargingâŠ
If you turn up at a Swarco charging unit! just don't use it avoid at all costs ... In fact do not buy an EV car!!
Chargers at Stansted donât work and IâmâŠ
Chargers at Stansted donât work and Iâm still waiting for the £60 pre authorisation charge to be refunded. Waste of time
Not fit for purpose
Visit to Penzance and Newlyn 3 times since 2022. Yet to see a car being charged by a SWARCO charger..because they are dreadful and not fit for purpose. Tried to register account via the appalling app on both my phone and my wifes. Both showed error and again didnt work. The Council should be asking questions of SWARCO who quite clearly dont give a damn and I suspect received tax payers money for the the privalige of installing a non functional service.
Rubbish
Tried using multiple chargers at the site near Stansted airport. No lt one of them worked but each took a £30 pre auth payment.
Every other provider seems to automatically refund these and weekends make no difference to that process. Not with these clowns, I am £90.down and still awaiting a refund.
It also took up a good deal of my time and meant it added around 30 mins extra to my journey home from holiday and caused a lot of stress as I was low on power and had to hunt for another provider at 1 am
Swarco chargers in Cornwall
Most ev chargers seem to be evolt/ swarco in public car parks in Cornwall and I can't get any to charge, just keep taking £35. Now have 13x pending payments. Don't have this issue with any other chargers so it's not anything I'm doing. Company need to sort it out.
Impossible to raise an issue
I'm £120 out of pocket due to multiple faulty chargers, with many pending payments at my bank. There is no way to contact swarco to report or raise an issue.
Rip off scam.Artists charge
Rip off scam.Artists charge, don't use them
These cowboys are now evolt
These cowboys are now evolt , still just as crooked. Take your money and give zero charge and you wait ages for your money back. Luckily my bank accepted the dispute and refunded me. Avoid this lot with a barge pole
Dreadful
Dreadful, takes the £35 payment doesn't connect after following instructions, then wants to take another £35 and I will get a refund in 7 working days for the original payments. Will be avoiding this system. Communication Error. What a joke.
Absolutely awful charger
Absolutely awful charger and even worse customer service. One of these chargers has recently been installed in my local area (if only they had read the reviews first). I downloaded the app, set up account etc. and attempted to charge. When it didn't work, I attempted again, in total four times. Each time Swarco have taken a £35 pre authorisation charge, amounting to £140. No request for authentication if payments, no notification of any payments taken and no chance of charging.
I called their customer service and their response was "Oh yes that happens, maybe try calling your bank"!! Four full working days later and the money has still not been refunded.
Do not touch these chargers, this company need to be abolished.
Don't touch with a barge pole
Just adding to the general list of annoyed customers.
However, company seems impurvious to negative comments.
Never use, don't trust I'm sure they are making a lot ot money from not returning customer abortive charge fees.
awful app, poor Web site bad customer service!
Swarco CPS nonsense
Swarco are apparently in charge of Charge Place Scotland.
Frying pan to fire springs to mind.
They inherited an aging, woefully inadequate, and completely ill conceived network, and have now added their special brand of charging nonsense.
Even though West coasters are treated to newer chargers, they are also treated to 70p kWh + and restricted charge times with chargers which still only deliver 38kW or less at a time.
East coasters are treated with in operable chargers but at least are charged 57p or less if it does work, if you can get past the CCS errors, broken plugs, blanked out displays, etc. Though for your benefit they save you the grief by not having to charge because you arrive at the single dilapidated charge point to see it doesnât work even though the awful App says it does. If you can wait for the App to load of course.
CPS didnât think that having multiple rapid charge points at one location was a good idea and where shortsighted to realise batteries in cars where going to get bigger and require faster chargers not 7kW ones with restricted charge times.
Swarco. Please turn in your cards now and inform the Government to hand CPS over to Tesla, who at least know how to provide decent charge points at a decent speed and keep them maintained and cost 48p kWh or less.
AVOID
We have had several issues with the evolt charger over the last 18months.
Trying to get an engineer out via swarco has been a disaster at best.
After numerous calls it takes over a week to get an engineer to attend. This has been the case on 3 separate occasions. The worst was 1 day short of 2 weeks!!!!
On one occasion the engineer refused to fix as he said the charger had been modified!!! Nope afraid not it is as installed by them...
Best advise is to avoid at all cost.
Tried to charge at Farleigh Farm Shop
Tried to charge at Farleigh Farm Shop. App already loaded as had used SWARCO previously at same charger. Opened app, was asked to login. Did so with email and password that worked previously. Neither accepted. Charger would not accept contactless. Tried calling helpline, no response. Gave up.
EV charging
When I got a EV I signed up for a few charging providers. Tried to use Swarco chargers a few times at different locations. When I got there they all no working. Tried the help line a few times, found them rude and unhelpful when answered. So I decided as this was such a bad company I would close my account. I emailed them in April 2024 to request this. Got an email in May 24 saying they needed more info as it seemed they had lost my details. Sent the info again late May. Got a email late Aug 24 to say they had done that.
What a bad company!! A real inference to EV ownership, no wonder some people suffer with range worry. There should be laws to ban companies like this from trading in the UK. In a year of EV ownership, this is the worse company of any I have tried to use. My advice is to avoid at all cost. Maybe they will go bust. Would give zero stars if I could
Any idea how to get a response from Swarco?
I applied for a CPS RFID card on 31st May 2024 (two months ago). I had to send a follow up email but did eventually receive my card, which didn't work when I tried to charge my car. I contacted CPS (Swarco admin) to request support. I have since received two emails from different people asking me to confirm my identity. I have replied to both of these messages, but have heard nothing more. I have tried contacting Swarco again, without any success. Does anyone know how to get a useful response from them?
Utterly useless and pointless
Swarco is just downright bewildering! Their chargers are the dominant ones in Worcester where I live and reasonably priced so were actually a factor in my decision to get an EV. I have used/tried to use them three times and the experience has got progressively worse. First time was a right faff but I eventually got there. Second time I couldn't unplug the cable for about 30 mins - support very helpful but a good chunk of my precious Sunday evening went down the pan which i still resent! Third time, there was absolutely no conceivable way of paying. The app is completely pointless - it serves no purpose at all and has no correlation with what you are trying to achieve. It has your details stored and a charging map - that's it - no logical path to the charging process, it's completely bizarre. Oh and for good measure it logs you out every time. (We all know what fun it is putting email addresses and passwords in repeatedly). Fortunately for me, on all three occasions that I've been 'Swarco'd', I was near home and just needed a top up, safe in the knowledge I had a plan B. So, back to attempt three (which will be the last), I tried two locations, first one had a barcode to scan which led me to a website which told me the charger ID number didn't exist. Never mind, not much else on tonight I thought, so headed to location two. No barcode to scan here so there was simply no process to follow. I saw sense and headed to Waitrose to pay top dollar to use their Shell chargers (which as ever went like dream). I called Swarco support on the way to Waitrose out of curiosity more than anything and after 15 minutes was still on hold - that would have been lovely miles from home on a dark night with a young family.I never did get through. I'm being a bit flippant about that bit, but actually this simply isn't good enough and could cause serious distress - there is a responsibility here you people!! So, in summary, these Swarco units in Worcester may as well be empty metal boxes that look pretty. They are cheap to use and always available. Hmmm...draw your own conclusions on that one! In all seriousness, Swarco simply shouldn't be operating as they currently stand. I've no doubt the hardware is fine, but the structure behind it is not. Interestingly, in Worcester, all of them are on City Council car parks..did our smart local civil servants do one of their 'races to the bottom' again?
If in Worcester and in need of electrons - go to Waitrose, you'll pay for the privilege but you'll remember why you got an EV in the first place as it's so seamless. Try to use Swarco and you'll be back on the unleaded in no time!
