I have reported to Talbots problems…
I have reported to Talbots problems with their online ordering and heard nothing from them. When they advertise a sale and I make a purchase, the first email I receive says "Thank you" followed immediate by their lame "please accept our apologies" email. If you then go back online, the product you ordered is available again. This has happened to me every time I get sucked in on another phony sale. I've reported Talbots to the BBB and posted on social media. Time to cancel my Talbots card.
Do not buy…..I paid express delivery…
Do not buy…..I paid express delivery almost $20 for 2 days delivery. Order placed on 10/29 and with express delivery, based on what the system generates, my order supposed to be received on 10/31. I called customer service and they told me for the amount I paid it will take 3-6 days. Insane!!! This is regular $8 not $20. They get your money and not deliver in time. Never again. Package will be returned anyway. Customer service is not a help at all.
Website and Live Chat Fiasco
Selected three items to purchase as part of a special discount sale Talbot's was having. As the cut-off time for the discounts was approaching, I tried to submit my order but the website kept returning to the billing screen and I could not complete the order. Tried half a dozen times!
I decided to do a "live chat" to ask if they would honor the discount since there was obviously something wrong with their website.
(1) The first chat timed out before I could even explain.
(2) The second chat agent told me to go ahead and place the order (which I did), give her the new order number, and the price would be adjusted. This chat also timed out before I could provide the order number.
(3) The third attempt seemed to be going OK with the agent informing me that the discount would be applied and what the order total would be. But then when I tried to respond, it timed out!
Bottom line, after the website failure and three failed live chats, I still don't know if the price has been adjusted. Will check my account.
UPDATE: Account has been credited so my purchase now reflects the discounts I requested. It was unfortunate that I had to spend so much time resolving the issue. Updated to two stars.
Terrible company this has ecome
Talbots seems to have farmed out their customer service. I called and had to contend with a very loud call center, sounded huge, with a heavily accented man who was of no help whatsoever. Could barely hear him amongst all the background noise. I ordered what was described as a coat, only to find out after placing the online order that it is actually only a coatigan, completely unlined. I only found this out from the review from another customer, Talbots is selling this at a vey high price, calling it a coat but it isn't! I want to cancel the order but buddy from "customer service" won't do a thing! I am from Canada, so I cannot return it upon delivery as I will be out return shipping plus the huge fee for duties, what a scam company this has turned into!

The absolute worst customer service
The absolute worst customer service. They do not answer the phone and if you are prompted to have them call you back they dont. The chat feature online does not work. If you are able to reach someone it is a male whom is impossible to understand. The connection is bad and often times you are disconnected and have to call back and wait again. I really don’t know why I shop with Talbots it is not worth it for the very poor communication and service.
Is this a scam?
I ordered a sweater that was on sale online. I ordered medium, but the sweater I received was too small when I tried it on. There was no label of any kind on the sweater. No size, no make, no washing instruction. There is also no invoice or return instructions. It makes me wonder if the website is a scam! Will never use it again.
Nightmare dealing with account after I…
Nightmare dealing with account after I paid in full but used the wrong account number. Discovered the error when next statement come out but was unable to communicate with first couple of people I talked with from Comenity Bank (who apparently handles receivable). Even Talbots store employees could not help. Finally paid in full with a debit card a few days later, (over $50. in bank fees), with a guarantee that funds sent to wrong account would be refunded. STILL NO REFUND. Oh and they reported me to the credit bureau. Never had a bad credit reported before.

I would leave a 0 if I could. I ordered 3 items. The material was cheap and they did not fit like the size I usually take. When I looked up the return policy, I would have to pay $ 30/item to "restock" on top of the postage to Asia! I will NEVER order from this website again!!!

Between the initial call to Talbots Customer Service and accepting the option to receive a call back the wait time has been as of writing the complaint has 55mins. This includes being cut off twice while trying to write my complaint on your online chat
Talbots pants
I bought a pair of pants on Friday for a funeral on Saturday. The pants became very baggy and out of shape as the day progressed.i felt sloppy and frumpy. I washed the pants as directed on the item and they came out very wrinkled.
I went back to Talbots on Monday explaining what happened. It seemed the pants were poor quality for $ 138.
They said they could do nothing. I called customer service and they said the same. There was no way for me to realize the poor quality until I wore them and laundered them. They would not even give a store credit. Very disappointed and will not be purchasing anything from them in future.

As a loyal customer of 30 years to Talbots, I am familiar with scheduling an appointment to have personalized service for my shopping visit. How fortunate I was to have Deborah assist me on this visit! With just a couple of sentences exchanged, she immediately started suggesting some items for me to try and she had assessed my style precisely!
Soon I was in the dressing room with clothes that had been laid out as if they were ready for a picture. I excitedly started trying them on and as soon as I got the first outfit on, Deborah was there asking me how I was doing. I opened the door to show her the first of several amazing outfits and said, “THIS is why I shop exclusively at Talbots!”
Why is Talbots my first choice? While some of the clothes in your store may change up a bit to reflect current trends for the season, I can always count on a timeless, classic style that never goes out of fashion. Add to that, Talbot’s clothes always fit “just right,” and with proper care and attention, your quality clothing stands up to the test of time. I can tell you I am still wearing Talbot clothes that I bought 20 years ago!
But I’d also like to expand on another reason Talbots is my first choice… the quality of service provided by the store associates that I have come to trust completely and value immensely.
Deborah is a perfect example of how your personal customer service works. She guided me to the most beautiful combinations of clothes, maybe exchanging one color out for another, helping me to style my belt just right, or bringing me additional combination to try. We had a great exchange of thoughts over which ones would best suit my wardrobe’s needs at this time, and I had complete confidence in her fashion advice. In a brief shopping trip of less than an hour, I walked away with three fabulous outfits, three extra tops and a big smile on my face!
This is why I am so happy to give rave reviews to Talbots and sing praises for professional associates like Deborah. I truly appreciate the relationship I have had with your store, meeting both my professional and personal wardrobe needs, for 30 years. Kudos to you all!
The WORST
I received nonconforming merchandise and returned it. Two weeks after Talbots acknowledged receipt they did not credit my credit card so I called. Still holding after 44 minutes.
Beware-Your returns will only be a merch credit
For an event I tried various dress sizes assuming I could return items with a $ reimbursement. Nothing appeared on my credit card. I continued to make purchases for another event. I called customer service and then learned I only had a credit that I did not even know about. I hope to get ALL of my money back for my returns and will never shop at Talbots again.
UTC Mall Sarasota BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE
Talbots in UTC Mall in Sarasota has the utmost best customer service! I've told my mother for years how awful ours is in the Arboretum South Barrington, IL and quite honestly I have tried going back several times but, they just don't care however, quite the oposite in Sarasota where my Mother goes. When I am in Florida I visit the store and from the time I walk in, until the time I walked out they wre extremely helpful with product, suggestions and sizes! I kinda want to go back to Talbots at the Arboretum South Barrington with my bags like Julia Roberts in the movie pretty women and say "Remeber me"? In this case, I can say "your mother is always right"......LOL! ...in this case....

I've been shopping Talbots online and in store for YEARS and have experienced excellent customer service overall. I'm shocked at the low ratings on Trustpilot for this company! No, I'm not paid. I'm a real customer!

Horrible customer service, my order was lost and had to call so many times to get my refund back. It’s just ridiculous!
Dishonest
Everything about this company that I experienced from the business side has been dishonest. From the credit card account I opened 15 years ago(and closed right away because of mishandling of my on time payments) All the way to my current experience of trying to return items. It is the most frustrating experience because their website does not keep track of orders and makes it incredibly difficult to find the return tab and once you find it, and put in a tiny tiny 13 digit order number, it is not recognized. Then after hours of searching for a needle in a haystack, once they receive returns, they do not credit fully for items I sent. They are missing items I know I sent. I am done with Talbots. Also, the old ladies are cranky when you go into the store and try to return. They don't like that.
Closed my account due to poor business practices.
I have been a longtime customer of Talbot's, but I just closed my account. I ordered a pair of pants and was sent two pairs in two separate shipments. I returned the pants in the correct return window of time. I received an email acknowledging the receipt of the return. It never showed up on my invoices. In the meantime I had to pay late payment fees because I thought that the return would result in a zero balance. I made three calls and the customer service reps gave me a different story each time, and one hung up on me. In the end I was told that since it was over 90 days since the return they couldn't issue me a refund or credit. Terrible customer service. They were not helpful, and I don't think they have any power to do anything. I was also told me that a manager would call me about this and that never happened. Really a shame that a company that represents itself as a classic has shoddy customer service. I will not do business with them again.
Beware of Talbots credit card.
I enjoy shopping at Talbots. I have purchased several items over the last year. Unfortunately, I don't trust the bank that handles their credit card. Their credit card is the most unfriendly and difficult company I have ever dealt with. I missed a bill because I didnt see it in my email. I requested a paper statement and was told it would cost 2.99 every month,regardless if there was balance or not. Think twice before getting their card.
