Be carful you don’t miss the bill. Not sure if it comes from Talbots or Coventry. Never saw it

I agree quality has been dropping as more things being made in foreign countries. But I have totally dropped shopping Talbots due to new policy of online billing or paying $2.99 for paper bill. I have never paid a late fee in my life and first month of this policy I ended up paying $33.00 in late fee and interest. I never saw the bill online. Saving a nickel and losing a dime. I will never shop there again

mer service as well as quality is…

Customer service as well as quality is gone at Talbots. Their overpriced clothes made in a third world country aren't consistent in size as back in the day. I ordered a top my usual size and it was extremely large. Upon trying to return this top, I was told it was a final sale. If sales are final, at a high end store, I would make sure the product was perfect, not defective. I will never shop at Talbots again.

No boxes

Stores are out of boxes and are using only plastic bags. The clerk said they don't even know if they'll have gift boxes for Christmas. I expect Talbots to be out of business in 2025.

Why in the world does it take Talbots…

Why in the world does it take Talbots so long to process an online order??? Ordered items 5 days ago and it still show “processing”. At this rate it will take forever to get my items. Purchased items from another retailer 2 days after this order and they are getting delivered today. Ridiculous!!!! Cheaper shipping rate also!

Paying shipping on damaged item?

I ordered a pair of white shorts on their website. When they arrived in the mail I saw a black spot on them, so I didn’t even open the clear plastic bag they were in. I returned them to a Talbots store, but did not receive my shipping costs back. I think if they send damaged clothing, they should also cover my shipping.

Kudos to Kathy Ballum of Talbots' Hingham Store

I would like to tell everyone out there who is Talbots customer about how one exceptional manager from the Hingham, MA (#3) downtown store - Kathy Ballum - is the exemplar of what customer service should be. To set the stage, I am a customer of the Pittsford, NY store. I had a situation in which I had purchased a pair of cropped pants back in June and in the process of doing a normal wash, they came out terribly faded and actually ruined. t loved these pants so much that I did something I never do - I ordered another pair just like them and vowed to hand wash them. But then I realized it was crazy to not say something about the failed first pair so I went to the Pittsford store where I had purchased them with the hope of getting a store credit. The store manager there could not have been worse. Although I have shopped at Talbots for 50 years, she blamed the condition of the first pair on my washing technique, refused to even look at my account ( though I have a Talbots credit card and am therefore a loyal customer), handed me a sheet of paper with the national customer service # and said "talk to them." She was insulting to the point where I left the store in complete shock and vowing never to return. Shaking, I went to my car and began scrolling through the Internet to see who might be the President of Talbots so I could pass on my experience to that individual. Hingham popped up so I decided to call the Hingham store, basically to blow off some steam and relay my disbelief at the horrible service I had encountered. Who should I get on the phone but the most marvelous employee that Talbots surely has - the store manager of Hingham's Downstore store (and I believe original store), Kathy Ballum. She was sympathetic and similarly in disbelief that I was treated in such fashion as it was simply not the Talbots' way! She was further kind enough to look into my account, saw that I had purchased the identical pair of pants twice (the second as a replacement for the ruined first pair) and said she would credit the account because clearly something had gone amiss in the manufacture that had created this problem. I therefore want to publicly acknowledge Ms. Ballum's response to me because she is the best example of customer service and this is usually not the case today. Most companies hide behind chat rooms or email communication and never make it easy to get an actual person on the phone. To all Talbots customers in the Bay State area who want an excellent shopping experience, go to the downtown Hingham Store and ask for Kathy Ballum. Because of her, I will continue to shop this brand.

Terrible customer service

Lack of staff. I purchased some clothing and upon getting home, didn't think quality was good. When I returned clothing, I got a credit on my credit card. I asked what credit card the credit would appear as it was not on return receipt or on original receipt. Sales associate said they don't have this information!
Further, I tried the toll free number for customer service. I got various prompts but none connected me to a real person. I then opted for the computer generated chat and got pop up that chat would cost $1.00 and asked for my credit card number. I disconnected the would be chat.

Stay away

I thought that Talbots was a higher quality store. I bought jeans there that stretched out so badly while I was wearing them they looked ridiculous. I tried to return them but because I had washed them, they would not take them at the store. I called customer service and after some persistence on my part, they agreed to send me a label to return them to their distribution center. They said I would be refunded but I never saw that money. I will NEVER recommend Talbots or shop there again.

Terrible service

Terrible service. Mayfair mall in Wauwatosa Wi. I wrote a long review on google yesterday. In a nutshell- I needed a chair - bad back - lumbar stenosis -and have to take frequent breaks. Used to be a chair in the plus size department which they removed. Informed staff of my request and they totally ignored me several times - I was in pain. I was the only shopper in the store. 3 clerks doing nothing at the other end of the store. Noticed 3 chairs in the other part of the store on my way out. Will never go back.

Decades long Customer - giving up on Talbots

I've shopped at Talbot's for decades. Recently, I had a payment marked as return to sender and then was unable to make payments in store. I think it's a scam to generate income from late fees. Talbot's blames their banking partner and the banking partner blames Talbot's. I closed my account and will no longer be a Talbot's customer.

Terrible customer service

Thought Talbots was a respectable store that would stand behind their product. Bought a pair of jeans and wore them once- they completely stretched out all over, much more than they should have. Washed them and took them back- expected at the minimum store credit- NOPE! They said the tags weren't on and I had worn them- no kidding, how else would I have known they stretched out??? Guess I leave the tags on next time and lie? Very disappointed, especially since I have spent a decent amount of money there.

I am an older woman who has shopped at…

I am an older woman who has shopped at Talbots for many years. I am tired of being talked down to by staff. One called me sweetie and another called me dear. I am a grown woman , not a child or a pet. These terms of endearment are inappropriate, disingenuous, condescending, and just plain rude. Women would never address a man as sweetie or dear so why talk this way to an older woman. Totally unprofessional. This was at Sherway. I am not going back.

Unresponsive Website

Talbots' website is the most difficult and unresponsive I've ever encountered! When they have a sale, which is most of the time as merchandise is priced high first, in order to discount later down to an almost reasonable pricing, the website continually either crashes or stops for minutes, up to half hour at a time, giving only a choice of "wait" to continually click, or, to leave the page. Not worth my valuable time anymore to wait out their incompetent IT service in order to peruse and order.

Excellent Selection and Quality

I am shocked at the negative reviews here for Talbot's as I have found their clothing selection and quality to be excellent. I have ordered lots from them and will continue purchasing from them as I love their clothing. Orders generally arrive in 7 to 14 days which is acceptable to me as they aren't a "big box" retailer.

What has gone wrong is the Interest you…

What has gone wrong is the Interest you are currently charging people 35.99% in my eyes that is what's called "Predatory Lending" shame on on you! As an Accountant I can't take it, I went ahead and closed my account. In addition, you also want to charge $2.99 for a paper statement, how insane is that!
I hope many people follow suit, you won't make it for very long in business!

Rude!!

Rude!!! I try to cancel my order 1 min after the purchase, they sent me email after email for a hole day to tell me this morning that the item has been sent !!! They have the hole day to cancel it BUT they didn’t want it! Email after email they want Reg num, then they corrected their e-mail messages to ask me my name phone num email address etc… but they already have all the infos!!! I understood this morning they were buying time! This morning I sent an email again and their answer is TOO LATE!! One employee Yvonne R wrote: we dont sell cars we need your info !!! Rude Rude!!
