Poor. Choose alternative insurance

Poor., Had to send endless 'evidence' if my lost phone ... eventually they they offered a very low settlement that was an insult... Even tried to pay in Argos vouchers.....!!! Don't use this company

The claim had been dragging on for…

The claim had been dragging on for months as id been sick and a few personal issues , every time I contacted them , there was never a problem, friendly and knowledgeable staff made the whole process easy !

Basically just theft

The policy wording is written in such a way that I doubt anybody has ever successfully had a gadget claim paid.

Edit: None of the good reviews have the 'unprompted review' tag...

Edit: I have provided my claim reference and received no reply.

I lost my camera, they paid out.

I lost my waterproof insta 360 camera from the end of a 3m selfie stick while playing in the surf in the Galapagos Islands. It just dropped off the stick into very unclear water. I searched for an hour and couldn't find it. The insurance covered the cost of the better model that is currently available and directed me to a great price for that camera. Very pleased, I would highly recommend this company for actually paying out a reasonable price for my loss. I have been insured annually with this company for several years and never made a claim before. After this I will continue my annual cover happily. You hope to never use travel insurance, but now I'm pleased I had this cover through Staysure.

worst insurance company ever

worst insurance company ever, do not buy Gadget insurance from them, seems like one of the insurance companies that takes money but looks for excuses to reject your claims when you need them i have peding claim for my phone lost, and so many unimportant and silly questions i have been asked, which shows their intentions. You contact CS they are as unhelpful. A simple suggestion is to DO NOT BUY YOUR GADGET INSURANCE FROM THEM, or from post office insuracne

Costly Lesson Learnt

Please note Taurus Gadget insurance are linked with Leisure Guard Travel insurance.If you have taken out travel insurance with Leisure guard travel insurance and need to make a claim for a mobile phone or tablet etc then you will be asked to take the claim up with Taurus Gadget insurance had I known this I would have read the reviews for Taurus Gadget insurance and avoided taking out a travel insurance policy with Leisure guard travel insurance.
Taurus have as many negative reviews as they do for a reason they will pay out as absolutely little as possible as they did in my case for a £460 phone they only paid out £150.
Lesson learnt.
Update : 2nd January 2026 Taurus gadget insurance are replying to my Negative review and asking for my claim reference number so they can ' assist me'.If they had wanted to help then they had there opportunity when I rejected their ONE and only offer but instead offered no uptake or negotiation, even after I informed them I would be taking the case to the insurance ombudsman which I then did.

I would actually give them 0 stars - Taurus are the most incompetent company I have had the displeasure of dealing with in a very long time. It was packaged under my postoffice travel insurance for my gadgets that I paid extra for. It was money wasted. I have emailed 4 times the same attachment and then on the 4th email the useless claims advisor opened it to realise it was exactly the document they were waiting for - a two day turnaround is what they claim - they are a joke of a company, and the email back and forth is pathetic. I really wish this company goes bankrupt because morally they already are

Overall a good experience

We had insurance through holiday extras which uses Taurus for gadget insurance on the policy.
My wife lost her phone on holiday, not ideal.
Called Taurus, they were very helpful in the phone. Submitted a claim, there was a lot of paperwork info and procedures we had to go through which would be hard for some people I can imagine but in the end, (which was pretty quick to be honest) in the matter of a couple weeks they had sent us the money to our bank account to replace the lost phone which we used to buy a new one with.

Awful User Experience and Limited Cover

This is not a user friendly experience. Firstly, you have to log the claim twice by emailing an address which then tells you to fill out an online claim form.

The online form crashed and lost all the information I inputted so I had to start again.

The information requested is not clear and doing it all online means it’s very impersonal and clinical. I work in the insurance industry and I found the process difficult so god help people who don’t know how to raise a claim.

The fact that this policy only covers the original purchase price of a gadget and not the replacement cost is also just a money grabbing exercise.

I hope to god I never have to make another claim with this company, it was an atrocious experience and demonstrates exactly why everyone hates insurers.

If i could give 0 stars i would

If i could give 0 stars i would. My gadgets were stolen from my hotel room, even WITH A POLICE REPORT, they rejected the claim as there wasn’t proof of forced entry- even though I had declared the thief had a key card. They will reject any reasonable claim DO NOT USE THEM- YOU WILL NOT GET YOUR MONEY BACK.

Awful service

Awful service. Despite a police report verifying the theft would not pay out as they said I did not have evidence of forced entry.
Surprised they have two stars.
Avoid at all costs.

Taurus have replied see below but there are no contact details. Fraudsters.

The claim reference number is NCL/IF/00116728/WHI-2

You have acknowledged that the items were stolen but said that as there was not evidence of breaking and entering you will not accept the claim. Therefore the items are lost but you have said that a loss claim cannot be made as they are stolen.

This is clearly a shifty company doing their best not to honour a claim.

Excellent

Overall, it was a refreshing experience. Everything went smoothly, although the documents requested for my claim felt excessive given the claim’s value. Once I provided them, however, the payment was processed without any issues.

I would never use Staysure again they…

I would never use Staysure again they use Taurus to cover tech goods and they don't cover anything older than 6 years. Had everything stolen while on holiday and got back £159 just a joke.

Some of the documention required was difficult to find but once it was all sent claim was approved the same day, payment less than a week later. Very happy

No way
If you are reading this then highly suggest don't buy this insurance.
Biggest fraudsters.
Even with genuine reason they will reject it somehow.
So plenty of options in the market.
This one is not for anyone.
