AVOID AT ALL COSTS- CONTENT NOT HELPFUL AND AUTO RENEWS WITH NO WARNING AND THEN REFUSAL TO REFUND. I'M £150 DOWN.
I signed up last academic year and found that the content created needed so much adaptation that I didn't use it again. I got better reults from using Gemini or Chat GPT.
I didn't receive any notification that the first year was up and then the subscription amount was taken from my bank automatically. Another £75.
I got in contact with Teachmate to query whether I could have a refund as I had already paid a year and not used the service. See the reply I got below- basically they will take year 2 payment with no reminder and then refuse to refund you. I have now paid £150 for a service that is not fit for purpose and tht I have never used. AVOID!
Annual Subscriptions: To ensure uninterrupted access to Teachmate all subscriptions autorenew. If you cancel within 14 days of payment and have not accessed any Pro tools you are entitled to a full refund. If Pro tools have been accessed, or if more than 14 days have passed, no refunds will be given, and access will continue until the end of the subscription period. Refunds are only applicable to the first payment of an annual subscription. All subsequent payments are not eligible for a refund.

Teachmate makes my life so much easier. I use the leadership tips daily as an assistant headteacher. I am also a class teacher and use the slideshow generator/worksheet generator for all of my foundation subjects! Saves me so much time. 10/10 would recommend!

I've used Teachmate for the past 18 months or so and love it for report writing in the summer, however, their new slideshow tool and worksheet tool are incredible. I've been teaching for 13 years and this has had a massive impact on my workload. I can plan units of work in minutes rather than hours. Love it!

New slideshow generator is amazing! Saves so much time. Diagrams and illustrations are high-quality which is what's lacking in others. Really accurate content and pedagogy. Can't recommend highly enough. My school's now paying so everyone can get it. Team there were amazing in getting us set up and they provide free CPD videos.

I wish I had read the reviews before purchasing! The website is awful! The slideshows generated are inaccurate, boring and even when I worked on my prompts the slideshows generated and worksheets were still far worse than other providers!
I cancelled the same day as you can’t try the service until you have paid- and I didn’t get a refund- very disappointed!

⭐ Very disappointing – creates more work, not less

I purchased Teachmate expecting it to save me time as a primary teacher. Unfortunately, my experience has been the opposite.

The Slideshow Generator is described as creating “teaching slide presentations”, but the presentation I received was predominantly text, with no actual images inserted and placeholders telling me to search for images myself. It required considerable additional work before I could realistically use it with children.

When I complained, Teachmate subsequently described the output as a “structured, content-led foundation”, “instructional framework” and “drafted content” which the teacher then finalises. Had the product been described that way before I subscribed, I would have understood what I was actually purchasing.

I have achieved considerably better and more tailored teaching resources using general AI such as ChatGPT, without paying for a specialist teacher platform.

Customer service has also been extremely disappointing. Rather than directly addressing my specific concern about the difference between the product description and the output, I have been referred to webinars, reminded that they have 160+ tools, told about an upcoming update, and repeatedly referred back to their terms and conditions. Even after formally asking them to explain how they believe the product I received matched its description, that specific question was not answered.

I have no problem with an AI tool producing drafts — that could be genuinely useful. My issue is that I believe teachers should be clearly told that this is what they are buying.

Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Teachmate. If you’re considering subscribing for the Slideshow Generator, be aware that you may need to do substantial additional work to turn its output into a visually engaging, classroom-ready presentation.

Been using Teachmate for the past year and have found it super useful in helping to create classroom ready resources. Worth the subscription for the worksheet generator alone!! High quality images with little to no formatting required. Definitely recommend!

This site is a complete waste of time. Very poor quality. You need to re-do everything. Multiple mistakes in every piece created. Customer service are absolutely awful.

Please avoid.

Avoid at all costs.
Very basic AI system, little imagination and unhelpful customer service.
Attempted to sign up for a monthly plan to trial and ended up paying £72 accidentally for the yearly subscription. Explained the situation to the customer service team who essentially told me tough luck.
Now left with a useless AI platform with no intention to use as it is basic and boring and is no comparison to other companies such as Chalkie and Gamma.
Save yourself the time, effort and money and avoid TeachMate. Enjoy a better experience elsewhere.
