Unprofessional and Discriminatory Treatment
I applied for a Senior Support Engineer position at Terumo earlier this summer.
⢠My first contact was a phone interview with Ms. Zsófia Keszi (HR Manager).
⢠My first formal interview was on July 25th in Zaventem with Mr. Eric Dickmann (IT Manager EMEA).
⢠My second interview was on August 13th with Mr. Pedro Van Goey (Global IT Director).
During the second interview, Mr. Pedro promised I would receive feedback within a week. It has now been 45 days, and I am still waiting.
I also want to mention that for both interviews, I had to take time off from my current job and drive more than 40 km each way to attend them. I invested serious time and energy because I trusted this companyâs professionalism.
Out of respect, I sent two polite follow-up emails to Ms. Zsófia Keszi asking for an update. One of them triggered an automatic reply (so I know it was received), but I never got any real answer.
To make things worse, I was shocked to see the same position re-posted on LinkedIn during the exact week I was waiting for their reply. Instead of providing me with a clear âYesâ or âNo,â they simply ignored me and moved on.
This behavior felt not only highly unprofessional but also discriminatory. Candidates deserve basic respect, regardless of nationality or background. At the very least, a short rejection email would have been more respectful than complete silence.
For a global company with Terumoâs reputation, this treatment is unacceptable and deeply disappointing.
