Appalling customer service - I've been chasing up a refund as no payment made within the time frame - the phone number goes straight to a message then 'goodbye'. Have tried emailing but no response so far.

Top tip - make sure you order the correct size as refunds/exchanges are excruciatingly difficult.

Ordered my hat over 3 weeks ago- nothing. Sent two emails but no response, tried to ring lots of time no staff available just advised to email.
Needed hat for a holiday which is now long gone- still hoping I’ll receive something - still got an order number- very disappointing

First time writing a trust pilot review as this service from Tilley irked me the wrong way. Ordered a hat for fathers day.....still waiting. No reply to emails. Disappointing.

Bought a green outback hat ,and after just three days of use the hat became very faded ,blotchy ,and sun damaged.
I now feel too embarrassed to be seen wearing it.
Have Emailed Tilley, but they dont seem to want to reply.
Because this was a present bought 9 months ago ,I am unable to return it to the retailer!
I would advise anybody to just buy a cheaper version hat

Terrible customer service.

Tried to make a claim under the lifetime guarantee but 2 weeks later I am still waiting for Tilley to respond with answers to simple questions such as how much does it cost. I was surprised by Tilley's first response to my claim that there is a "service charge" in addition to a postage charge for a claim.

Nobody at Tilley has responded again.

Will buy elsewhere next time.

I contacted Tilley because the HEMP hat I have shrank so badly I can’t wear it anymore. First correspondence said yes, it was eligible for replacement. I took the time and went to the store in Toronto to make sure I didn’t have the wrong size the hat head shrank. I submitted my claim online as directed and it was denied said it wasn’t eligible for replacement. A waste of time and energy. I’ve been back-and-forth a couple times with them saying how disappointed I was, but they blew me off so very disappointing and there are so many other people that sell similar products at a more cost effective level, just sharing my experience .

My T3 hat, guaranteed for life, would wear out, fall apart and get replaced at a dealer. Fair enough, it’s a $2 hat you pay a fortune for, the warrantee is what you like.
Now they want $20 ‘handling fee’ to replace it!
This is a breach of my original contract with my hat.
We need a class action law suit to restore the original promised warranty.
The hat is nothing special, without a real warranty the hat is nothing at all.

I purchased a top end Tilley hat with a lifetime guarantee last week, here in the UK.
I've had no end of problems trying to register my hat on their UK website. No link to register and customer service is non existent, 3 times I've contacted them and I'm still waiting for a comprehensive answer.
Is it a ploy so you can't register within 60 days, so the lifetime guarantee is void?
Anyone considering a Tilley hat because of their guarantee should look elsewhere! Appalling service!

Just bought the rain poncho - did one on line and one in-store at the Ossington location. So happy the legacy of fabulous product quality and exceptional customer service continues.! Love the fashion forward designs!!!!!!! So happy Tilley lives on!

Bought two golf hats last fall on sale, and put them away till spring, received black and off white hats that were very different in the overall look. The black was good, the white one sucks! Labels are totally different as well as the shape. I can put the off white one over the black one and the pattern is larger and uneven, as I bought it in the fall put them away, took them out for golf season, very disappointed.

I emailed customer service got a message back that they will not replace as it was over thirty days and price tag taken off, which the wasn’t one, only paper bill. It looks like h…l on. I could buy a hat athe the local dollar store which would look better!

I had a credit on my account with Tilley because of a returned purchase. Not the entire amount I spent previously, but since I didn't want to lose the credit with them, I had no choice. I spoke with three people today, the first person I spoke with (couldn't understand her name, and should have had her repeat it) told me I was allowed a credit on to the card I originally used for my purchase, or the gift card that was sent through email; either credit option I chose would be for an amount less than my original purchase for some reason. I foolishly placed the order, then changed my mind. I called and spoke with Mary, who told me she would check on the details and would call me back. She never called back.
After calling the company, I spoke again with Mary. I was then told that I could not receive a credit to my original form of payment. I let her know of what the first person had informed me of. She adamantly insisted that I had not spoken with someone besides her, as I stated. Informed I would only receive a credit in form of a gift certificate.
Also, be aware that Tilley sells their hats through Amazon and often put them on sale.

I’ve been wearing Tilleys for over 20 years. I can’t believe how bad the quality has gotten. I’ve had the TH5 but the new TH5 is a cheap made thin crappy hat. It doesn’t come in a box anymore, but a flat paper bag. No brag tags. The foam in the top is thinner cheaper.. the TH5 natural color used to be full of character now just looks like a bleached white hat.
Prices of everything have gone up, and I would be perfectly willing to pay more for a high-quality hat. I would simply rather pay $150 for a fantastic hat, then 85 for a cheaply made one..

I contacted Tilley March 28 about my husband’s Cotton Tilley hat, over 20 yrs old, which had a few small holes and worn areas. Customer service responded to my emails in less than 24hrs, I supplied photos and information requested, and April 4th, brand new replacement hat was delivered to our door!
What a pleasure to deal with this company that honors its lifetime warranty and has such quick response.

Zero stars, if I could. Their customer service is abominable. I ordered a bucket hat that should have come with a chin strap (as pictured). It didn't. I called customer service. They said they'd check the warehouse for one. One was not to be found (seriously!??) They suggested I use a "shoelace or a ribbon" ... on a $100 brand named authentic Tilley hat!? A gift!?? No compensation offered. No alternative other than "a shoelace or a ribbon" on a Tilley bucket hat that clearly showed a chin strap pictured on THEIR online store. UNREAL! Horrible horrible customer service, direct from Tilley Canada.

Contacted Tilley after my husbands hemp hat of many years developed a worn edge and the rim suppot poked through. The hat wasn't registered as it was bought long before online registration was the norm so we feared the worst but after sending some requested photos the guarantee was honoured and a new hat has arrived in less than a week. Great service from Tilley! And a very happy customer.

My life time guarantee hat was well dealt with and a new hat is being sent to me after 30 years of using the old hat that ripped when I washed it. Great service and efficient.

I have clicked 'unsubscribe' on several Tilley emails, and I have emailed to unsubscribe. Emails kept arriving despite the response that my address had been removed. It is impossible to speak to anyone using their UK contact number, it merely directs to messaging online.

I purchased my first LTM 6 Airflo hat about 15 years ago, wore almost daily. Had skin cancer on face and it was recommended by my dermatologist. It wore out at base of brim and blocked my vision. Went online this week and i side of 30 hrs had about 4 very polite email exchanges with their customer service. Paid the 20 USD handling fee and got replacement hat through FedEx inside of 3 days. Hat quality and fit is still great and i was able to register it online to continue the warranty..i feel very positive about their responsiveness and reasonableness to not require rigorous proof of original purchase. I have not ordered any other articles from them..as they seem too pricey now.

Their products are crappy, the materials they use are worthless and poor quality. They have numerous complaints against them can be found on better business bureau dot org

Can’t understand all the negative reviews. I’ve had a Tilley hat for the last 8 years and have worn it every summer as I shave my head. This year it got a year, so I emailed them. They agreed the hat was covered and I could go to their store and pick a new one up to the value of £80. It arrived a few days after I paid for postage. Email replies were slow in coming, but I got a brand new hat after my old one wore out, so I have no complaints what so ever!
