Avoid at all costs. Total scam . Thankfully purchased using barclaycard so they refunded me. Trading standards need to get involved as a seriously fraudulent company.

Then offered a 10% discount followed by a 25% discount. Asked to send photos of the items to allow a return, then told labels would be generated.
Solved to issue with a charge back refund from my credit card provider. Company being investigated by Facebook and Trading Standards.

Excellent service, purchased a few items and they are very helpful. They put a drill one side for me, I collected next day. Very good price very competitive and you are able get a good deal.

They sell silicone that only 60% of the tube can be used, infact 5 of the tubes were completely useless and they sold my a PROFESSIONAL foam gun that stopped working after 8 tins on foam, they gave me £10 refund on the silicone but refused to do anything about the foam gun, I would advise every body to stay away from this company they are very unhelpful and from what I have seen they are con merchants
Advertising items they have not got in stock or cannot get
After a 3 week wait for the part I ordered to turn up did not arrive emailed the company and Told the part is no longer available. Still no sign of a refund after almost two months of waiting and lots of emails.
Customer service improved
Once upon a time this was a good place to go for odds and sods. Unfortunately it seemed that, in spite of assurances to the contrary (see below, "new owners"), customer service had disappeared down the drain - I ordered a spare part a month ago, and when I failed to receive a "dispatch" email ( I gave them more than a week), I used their "non-delivery" form to enquire about the whereabouts of my goods (there being no phone number information). I would have understood it if the company had contacted me to say hat they had no stock, or that the item was no longer manufactured, and if they had refunded my payment. But nothing. I made further enquiries 34 days after the order was placed, and I within half an hour I had been contacted by email with a fulsome apology and a complete refund by the MD, who gave me his contact details and the assurance that the item would shortly be on its way first class mail and FOC.
A great outcome after what had been a bad experience. Thank you for the improvement in service. Further improvement could be achieved by the company if only it would post a contact telephone number on its website.

As from the 1st January 2014 the new owners relaunched the site with a promise to return it to its former high level of customer satisfaction. The website is still being improved and more and more services are beginning to appear every week.

Waste of space on the internet - appalling service - AVOID AT ALL COSTS
I ordered a collet nut for my router - all seemed fine, I received an order acknowledgement and thought everything would be OK. However after a week or so nothing turned up so I emailed them asking for an update on my order. Nothing, no response. I have tried several times since but the same result - no response.
Ignoring customers is not the way to stay in business.
Order placed almost 6 months ago, still waiting. Do I need to say anymore?
Makita has the item in stock, but these jokers have failed to deliver. They ignore my emails totally.
I have never known a company like them.

Spent over £100 on a site radio, it went faulty within a few months. They do not return calls answer emails. They are a total waste of space.

Placed an order on 29th August and after 5 working days had no response so used their website "late delivery" system. Still no reply so sent an e-mail to their sales address. Still nothing. Then sent another e-mail and a letter by post to head office in Hull. Having still heard nothing I have sent another e-mail cancelling the order and ordered what I wanted from another company ( Power tools plus, who are very good! ) .Like other posts I wish I had seen this site first. I now have to contact my credit card company to ensure no money has been taken from my card and to block this company if I can.
My recommendation.... never use Toolshopdirect.

Never use toolshopdirect.co.uk. They do not keep stock, have bad suppliers, take 1 month to reply to customers and ropey payment systems, Avoid at all costs.
Wish I had read these reviews before I ordered
I had been searching the Internet looking for a butane gas soldering iron kit. I had found the kit I wanted on a couple of sites and was comparing prices and shipping charges. It was this site (tool shop direct) that was a couple of pounds cheapest, and
Also offered Saturday delivery, (it was Friday afternoon at 14:30hrs), plenty of time for any dispatch company to action the order. The Saturday delivery charge was £22,, a huge amount of money for such a tiny and light parcel, but sometimes if you want things in a hurry you have to pay the premium.
I entered my credit card details and promptly received a confirmation of order, nothing wrong here,,, but on examining the e mail I noticed that it said that I would get a dispatch e mail with a tracking number. I checked my e mails regularly up until around 16:30 hrs to which I sent an e mail asking for confirmation that my order was to be dispatched in time for 'Saturday' ,, NOTHING.......
I waited in all day Saturday in vain hope, but it seemed doubtful that my now super expensive soldering iron was going to arrive... I called their 0844 number, it just rang and rang,,,,, I e mailed the sales team again,,,, no reply...
Of course by this time I had found this site and its reviews. I wish I had seen it before I paid out my hard earned money..
So, I have spent an extra 30% more money on this product, which hasn't arrived.. I expect that it will arrive next Saturday (a full week late).. I wish I had paid the standard delivery now, I may have even got the item sooner!!,, lets hope it even arrives.
By the total lack of communication from this company, (which these days is almost ridiculous) even an e bay seller will answer sales related questions more promptly.. I find this all too worrying..
Dealing with this company feels like throwing money into the ether,,, I have asked the company to contact me regarding changing the shipping, I only wanted the item promptly, I was prepared to pay for this, I put my trust in this company, now I'm left feeling sick inside..
I would be happy if the company would communicate, maybe send the item by next day delivery, the weekend is now over, but I can at least get on with the job that I ordered it to do..
If I do get some communication, and satisfaction I shall update my review. Sadly, until then, this one stands....
My advice to anyone reading this to avoid any dealings with this company.

I placed an order on the 5th april and still no communication emailed them twice and still no response. DO not use this company I will not be thats for sure. Contacted Visa and told them to cancel the transaction as they are ear marked funds.
