Dangerous driving by a U-Drive highway maintenance truck driver. The vehicle was driving aggressively and recklessly on the road, swerving dangerously. If you see this truck from a distance, it’s best to stay well away for your own safety.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We take safety concerns very seriously.
However, we would like to clarify that we are a self‑drive hire company, meaning our vehicles are rented out to customers and are not driven or controlled by our staff during the hire period.
If you witnessed dangerous or reckless driving, we strongly recommend reporting the incident to the police. This allows the appropriate authorities to investigate and take action where necessary.
If you are able to share further details with us directly, we will also review the matter internally in line with our terms of hire.

We hired a van from Poole
We hired a van from Poole, the online booking tool was easy to use, follow up questions on the phone were easily resolved, staff were very friendly, explained everything clearly and the pick up and return were handled smoothly and efficiently. I would definitely recommend U-Drive and will use them again, thanks all!

Rude incompetent staff
I rarely leave reviews, but my experience with U-Drive was so poor that I feel compelled to warn others. The staff were shockingly rude and dismissive from the moment I arrived. Basic customer service seemed completely beyond them. They were impatient, unhelpful, and unwilling to take responsibility for mistakes.
It’s clear that customer satisfaction isn’t a priority here. The lack of professionalism and competence made what should have been a simple process unnecessarily stressful. I would strongly recommend that management address these serious issues with staff training, because as it stands, I would never rent from U-Drive again or recommend them to anyone.

possitive experience until there was a small problem
U-Drive
A PCN was wrongly issued on a van I was hiring. Esso Rossmore issued a PCN but fairly quickly realised it was a mistake and cancelled the PCN on my hire van and four other vehicles who’d received these fines in error on 5/7/25.
The fine in question went to U-Drive as they are registered keepers; it was then cancelled. End of? Not so. U-Drive took from my card on 15/8/25 an admin fee of £42 for them receiving a voided PCN; it has taken me until today, 8/10/25, to receive a refund. During this time, I’ve made countless phone calls and written many emails but have been constantly blanked, blamed, and treated like a fool by U-Drive’s rude and ignorant management team. I feel sorry for the staff at the Poole branch having to answer to such arrogant and condescending bosses on the daily.
EDIT
To clarify I am both the hirer and the holder of the account used to pay for the hire! Shows how much notice you pay to reviews doesn't it.
And the fuel was paid for at the time of filling we didn't go back to pay. What you're doing is trying to justify your mistakes and rotten attitude by making me out to be in the wrong somewhere

Vikki, thank you for your feedback.
To clarify, you were not the hirer of the vehicle, nor did you make any payment for the rental. The vehicle was hired and returned without issue, and the deposit was refunded in full. A civil enforcement notice was later issued by a petrol station alleging that fuel had not been paid for. As required, we provided the hirer’s details to the petrol station and applied an administration fee for processing the notice, completing the statutory declaration, and supplying the signed hire documents.
Although this fee was correctly applied, we agreed to refund it as a goodwill gesture once evidence was received confirming the fuel had since been paid. The evidence was provided on Friday 3rd October, and the refund was processed on Monday 6th October.
When you attended our Poole branch, our team spoke with you in good faith. However, you were clearly angry and loud towards several members of staff. At no point did any team member threaten to call the police or say “I have my crew behind me.” The mention of the police initially came from you or your companion.
We also confirm no GDPR breach occurred — the only information shared was that of the hirer. Our staff acted professionally throughout, and abuse towards them is not acceptable in any situation.

I hired a tipper
I hired a tipper, and explained I was moving scrap metal, the guy at the counter said no problem just because careful. I was very careful,but unfortunately scratched a decal on the back. They have charged me and kept my deposit. When I complained. The customer service was awful.

Thank you for your review. After inspection, the vehicle was returned with a dent to the rear Highways Maintenance board and damage to the sign writing. This is not fair wear and tear, the cost of repair was reviewed, and part of your deposit amount has been refunded.
