Disgusting service - steer clear!
Disgusting service! despite purchasing our LVT and agreeing to wait over 6 weeks for installation as it was ‘busy season’, fitter never attended, and was allegedly never booked! We are then left with a lounge with bare concrete floor. Offered date another 10 days later (after waiting over 6 weeks already) however fitter unhappy with price we had been given on invoice and required additional payment if the work was to be completed. Store offered zero in way of explanation or support on the matter. So waited 6 weeks, fitted did not attend when expected, offered a date much further in the future but demanding additional payment. When complaining to United HQ, they declined to ‘get involved’ and advised us to contact store directly who genuinely couldn’t care less about the appalling service they provided! We are 2 weeks down from the non attended fitting and no apology, response or remedy offered!

Great choice of reasonably priced carpets, flooring and beds. Purchased 2 very good quality carpets from them at a very good price. Great, friendly, 5 star service. Andrew and Jo, at the Melton Mowbray branch, are very helpful and informative. Highly recommended to anyone looking to purchase a new carpet, bed, or flooring. Delivery service available.

Ordered a carpet and cushion floor
Ordered a carpet and cushion floor. It came and although the cushion floor was fitted (they messed up the measurements) the carpet was not. I had to chase it. When they came to fit it they sent the wrong one. The manager wrote down the wrong carpet. We had to wait 3 weeks for the correct one. I called head office and complained no one got back to me. I emailed and again no one got back to me except the manager who said they had agreed to fit the correct carpet. So they should, they made the c##k up. I was told that due to the underlay being down with no carpet it will need changing by one of their own staff. When it came to fitting, the manager was reluctant to exchange it. There has been no apology or acceptance that they were at fault.

We apologise for the incorrect measurements on the cushion floor, the wrong carpet being ordered, and the further delay while waiting for the correct one to arrive. We fully understand how frustrating it must have been to have underlay fitted without carpet.
After speaking with the Store I now understand that your carpet has been booked in to be fitted and your underlay is to be replaced, and hope you will be satisfied with the finished results.

We ordered 2 Boxes of lvt, mixed batches, half unusable
We ordered 2 Boxes of lvt. They arrived but the tiles were mixed batches and different finishes. This caused a delay fitting my new bathroom. The united carpets manager came out and confirmed the issue. But still not resolved and it's been 4 weeks since the issue. Have given examples in so they can show the rep from the supplier the issue but he hasn't even turned up yet. Very disappointed as the service is usually ok. Expecting a part refund for the tiles I have paid for but can't use.

We're sorry to hear that your experience with our Melton Mowbray store did not meet your expectations. After speaking with the store I understand that your bathroom floor has been complete and the store are still waiting for the supplier to come in and inspect the LVT so they can provide you with your refund.
The store has tried sending images to the supplier to try and speed the refund process up for you, but unfortunately the problem cant be seen on the photographs and does need to be seen in person.

Carpet Fitting Service
Purchased 2 bedroom carpets this year and was very pleased with both the purchase and fitting service. Purchased a carpet for a hall, stairs and landing and again was very pleased with the purchasing and fitting experience, however, I am disappointed to say that the booking of the fitters to remedy a defect didn't go to plan as 2 appointments made were cancelled without any notification from the shop or fitters. This was really poor communication and took a strong complaint before the defect was put right after the third time of asking.
Therefore, what would have been an excellent experience was tarnished by a poor after care service.

It took 6 weeks to get my carpet with…
It took 6 weeks to get my carpet with no contact to let me know why it was delayed. I had to keep chasing to when it was going to be delivered and fitted. Very disappointed

Let down from time of purchase
When purchasing my carpet I was led to believe it would be able to be fitted between 7-10 day time. After hearing nothing for a week I telephoned to be told it wouldn’t be able to be done for another 2 weeks as the carpet fitter had gone on holiday…..
A date was booked and all other furniture delivery booked for when the carpet would have been fitted.
Day arrived room emptied and am received a phone call about 10am to inform me the fitter would not be coming as his son was poorly and no other carpet fitters available.
Absolute joke.
After a good couple of hours of phone calls I managed to organise an individual carpet fitter to go to the store and pick the carpet up and come and fit it in my house before my new furniture arrived.
All in all for a large organisation I would expect better and definitely expect more than one carpet fitter and gang …
