Universaldamp レビュー

Universal Damp came to survey our property at the request of a potential buyer. The surveyor arrived two hours early while we were getting children ready for school, and tried to open our (locked) front door without knocking, which was a poor first impression.

He was in our house for 15 minutes, and misdiagnosed every problem as rising damp, and went on to quote nearly £11,000 worth of work. This work was totally inappropriate for a Victorian terrace, and included a chemical damp proof course (which is damaging to lime mortar) and waterproof tanking (only recommended for cellars, retaining walls and other areas in contact with soil). This would have resulted in the brickwork being unable to breathe, and caused far more damage in the long run.

We had a separate independent damp surveyor come in for a second opinion, who didn't have an agenda or products to sell; by contrast, he was in our house for three hours and gave us a thorough rundown of exactly what the problems were and how to fix them. We we were able to get the work completed for under £5000, and solve the actual root causes instead of covering them up.

Universal Damp may do good work once they're in, but don't trust what you're told by their surveyors.

Excellent service, very efficient, clean and completed to a high standard. We're really pleased with it, great job.

we used Universal Damp services for a damp issue in a London flat. Their advice was spot on. Professional friendly manner. We compared their advice to other surveys we had done and they got right to the issue where other companies had suggested much more costly assessments that weren't needed..huge thanks to Gary and his experience.

The surveyor was quick, knowledgeable and helpful. An excellent experience.

Great communication throughout and prompt, professional service

Great service from Gary and the team. The work was carried out when agreed and finished sooner than expected. Great finish on the inside work and the new render looks brilliant on the outer. Would highly recommend to anyone who needs this work done

Gary was friendly, professional and unbiased. Did visual checks internally and externally and didn’t scare monger.

Dean and Charlie did a great job weather/damp-proofing our house. Real attention to detail, friendly, knowledgeable and professional. Would recommend based on the work I’ve seen.

Charlie and Dean. Worked to a high standard and did everything they could to make the job look good. I would highly recommend them.

Dean and Charlie did an amazing job of repairing failed render and painting the exterior of the house. Communication was good and Dean continually checked that we were happy. Good attention to detail. Thank you!

Attention to detail was excellent
Polite, unobtrusive and professional

Gave a very clear survey that was easy to understand and very thorough

Spoke with Gary and he gave us excellent advice! Didn’t try and sell us into something we didn’t need, gave us the information to solve our damp issue without spending a fortune.

Gary was excellent at communication and was very helpful in sorting out the cracks in the external wall of the house. It looked so much better once the cracks were filled and wall repainted. Would highly recommend.

Really efficient and quick to tend the problem. Respectful of property and polite. Calum put my furniture back for me and cleaned up after he finished each day.

Wonderful job, highly efficient

Very quick to organise the survey. Thanks for taking the time to talk us through cause and solutions, we really appreciate it and would recommend.

Called regarding damp issue in loft area was advised to have an independent damp survey done they assessed the situation and was really informative helpful and helped me understand what was happening and advised on best route to take to rectify problem. All confirmed in a formal report.
Gary was friendly, professional and informative.

Needed a damp report on my tenanted property. Once contacted the survey was done the next day with the report following the day after. Good advise and no upselling.

I called and the surveyor (Gary) came in two days. The Damp report was ready the next day! I have a property which the tenants suddenly got molds after living there for 2 years and tried to pin me responsible. With Gary’s report it helped me push some of the responsibility back to them. Could not be more thankful! 🙏
