My wife and I have been leasing vehicles for 12 years using various companies including V4B in the past. We decided to go with V4B with a 4 year, 40000 mile maintenance contract.
We went with a Mazda CX30, everything went smoothly and the vehicle was delivered on time, car was dirty on delivery but never complained as it had been driven over 500 miles and the V4B team had been very helpful.
Santander Consumer
The problems all started after delivery, they are impossible to get in contact with whether itâs for service, parts or MOT. I found myself constantly waiting for the calls to be answered and be told theyâd nobody available to take my call and someone would call me back, which never happened.
In February this year I put a complaint forward about this communication problem and in July I received £100 compensation.
The Mazda was returned in August this year over 8000 mile under contract and what Iâd say average condition for a four year old carâŠ.only to be sent a bill for £1011 for stone chips etc, After finally getting through to them after a few days trying, I suggest that if I hadnât put the complaint in maybe I wouldnât have received this bill.
In my 12 years leasing cars I have never received a bill after itâs been returned.
V4B as I said I had no problems with choosing the Mazda, the team at V4B or the delivery etc. The problems was with Santander ConsumerâŠthis is a company that Iâd never had dealings with beforeâŠthey were only introduced as a third party to me through V4B.

I have just leased a vehicle from them and I am very pleased at the speed, efficiency and value that I received. I was also impressed with the immediate access to one of their team which is not always the case elsewhere these days.

Poor customer service and lack of care
I am shocked and saddened with how this lease company has treated us! My husband was this week diagnosed with a life changing medical condition. We were subsequently instructed by a medical professionals to inform DVLA. As a result my husband driving licence was withdrawn on medical grounds.
Today at our lowest, when asking if we could pause the delivery of the vehicle or how we could cancel the order given he could no longer legally drive, V4B replied by email explaining that if we cancelled our lease car we would not only lose the £300 we fee we paid to order it, we could be expected to pay an additional £362 for nothing! At this time no finance application had ever been completed, the car was on factory order.their justification, it was stated in their terms and conditions,
Having never ever sat or seen the lease car we ordered it will have cost us £670. V4B showed us no compassion for our circumstances or even acknowledged the emotional turmoil we currently face, Our advice is to avoid at all costs if you are looking for customer care! We were a new customer to V4B having successfully leased many cars previously!
