Very knowledgeable, very helpful, very good
Itâs rare to find a medical or healthcare professional who really gets chronic pain and the problems it creates, but Valentina does. Sheâs been great. At the same time as giving me hands-on treatment for my shoulder pain that just seemed to emerge out of nowhere, sheâs looked at my posture and helped me change it, so that Iâm not causing my back and shoulders additional stress. And not just by saying shoulders down and keep a neutral position in your lower back. Sheâs looked at which of my muscles are weak, given me specific exercises for them, and made sure that I was exercising the correct muscle instead of the muscles I usually recruit to do things in place of the weak ones. And sheâs been very specific about how to improve my posture in a way that feels like itâs working and helping. And I say that as someone who has already significantly improved my posture from where it started and thought Iâd got as far as I could.
Sheâs also given me a lot of practical advice to help with the chronic pain, which she has tailored to me and my needs. I have a long history of not getting on with some of the standard advice given to people with chronic pain. When I told her why I didnât or couldnât or wouldnât do certain things, instead of saying âitâs take it or leave itâ, she tried to understand why I was saying that and looked for other options or ways to adapt the advice so that it did fit me and my needs. I had previously thought that I was up to date on general chronic pain advice and was already incorporating the bits most relevant to me. I was wrong. Valentinaâs advice has been incredibly helpful, and sheâs found excellent ways of adapting what she knows to my specific needs.
Her advice on what to do if the exercises hurt has also been incredibly useful. If you have the chance to see her either for a specific injury or for chronic pain in general, I highly recommend that you take it.

Life improving therapy, holistic approach
I suffered from upper back pain for a while when I started working with Dr Valentina.
Valentina offered a holistic, very personalised approach to the problem. She helped me to understand my HSP, and explained what triggered the pain. We worked together using movement and meditation techniques. Dr Valentina is very understanding, calm and empathetic. She equipped me with knowledge and tools that help me now to manage stress and my back pain has gone! She helped me to understand myself better. La Dottoressa Buscemi, illustrandomi pratiche semplici e facilmente replicabili in autonomia, mi ha aiutato molto nella gestione dei miei dolori articolari oramai persistenti da un paio di anni.

A truly amazing experience at the handsâŠ
A truly amazing experience at the hands of Valentina. Valentina offers a balanced holistic approach to pain management. Her service has the balance between theory and pain focused stretches. Valentinaâs service definitely helped with my pain management.. this is far more useful than the traditionalâ receive a deep tissue massage which last for a couple of hours then the pain returnsâ. This progressive approach to pain management is what makes Valentina stand out. I think that she is amazing , very understated but very focused on her patients having an increased awareness of their mental and physical states and demonstrates ways to create balance between the two .. therefore alleviating the pain.
Very useful, life-improving pain management and HSP therapy
I started having sessions with Valentina at the beginning of this year when I was struggling with Fibromyalgia pain symptoms. Before our sessions, I was feeling so lost, desperate and overwhelmed. I didn't understand why I had so much pain. She gave me detailed crystal clear explanations and helped me understand why I had pain and what I should do to prevent it. She took the time to understand me and my needs. Thanks to her, I didn't experience as strong Fibromyalgia flare-ups as I did before our sessions. I also discovered things about myself that I didn't realise before. I had numerous enlightening moments during our sessions where I thought wow that's why and why I never thought about that before? In addition to pain management tools that she provided, she also helped with my high sensitivity.
It was lovely to work with a person who has vast knowledge about Fibromyalgia and HSP at the same time. For the first time I really felt understood. I would like to thank Valentina for this journey and highly recommend her to the people who struggle with their pain symptoms and/or being an HSP.
Insightful therapy and guidance
The work I did with Valentina has been very useful to improve my daily-life. She took the time to understand me, the way I function, and my specific needs, also being HSP. She guided me to undertsanding what was going on and how to improve my life. I particularly enjoyed working on the internal family systems model, that resulted in several aha moments and had positive consequences in my personal relationships. I absolutely recommend her.

I valued Valentina's personal warmth, empathy and soothing presence. Her holistic approach - i.e., her ability to combine neurological, biological, psychological and social theory with physical interventions - was far more helpful to me than the solely medical and psychological interventions I'd previously experienced, and her combination of qualifications and experience was well-suited to the issues I brought to work on. Valentina provided a wealth of information in-session, and I found it especially helpful that she emailed me summaries of each session and links to additional materials - e.g., book recommendations - to enable me to continue our work independently. I appreciated that she encouraged me to email her between sessions with questions and comments: when I did this, on occasion, I felt heard and contained by her responses, which she then brought back into our next sessions. Throughout, Valentina was responsive to my experience of our work: she actively invited me to shape the content of our sessions and changed their focus in response to the feedback I gave her.
