A helping hand

With the courier company loosing and delivering the parcel to the wrong address the Vision customer service team were extremely helpful in resolving the issue. The glasses are excellent and my wife loves them, they are great quality and good value for the price.

Perfect Fit

Easy to order. Sizes were perfect! Lenses were clear and I could actually see again! For $15 a pair I had my doubts. Going to order another pair now.

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!

I am reposting this review after the disgraceful tactics Vision Direct (VD) has used.

To give context, I am a 16 year customer of VD. Over the years, I have recommended them to friends and family, as I have been a very happy customer.

Things seemed to change a few years ago and my orders for both sunglasses and glasses seemed to be wrong, or poor quality.

I ordered a pair of sunglasses in Feb 2026, which were an exact replica of a pair purchased from VD about 2 years ago. They were an identical brand, frame, prescription and lens colour, ie an exact replica was ordered.

The lens colour ordered was gradient brown, which on the pair I already own, is exactly as it sounds, a gradient dark to light brown. What I received is sunglasses with fanta orange lenses. I only wish I could attach a photo here to show just how orange they are.

Immediately on receipt of these new sunnies, I contacted VDs online chat and provided photo proof of the new vs old lens colour, to show the huge error in the new lenses. I was told the issue would be referred to another team who would get back to me.
I should add, that this delaying tactic did not use to be a part of the VD returns process, you used to be able to go to a link on their website and start the returns process yourself.
So after some further delay, including a VD team member sending me links for other glasses, in spite of the fact that from the outset I had clearly stated I wanted to return the sunglasses for a refund, I was further delayed by several more pointless emails telling me someone was looking into my query, in spite of me politely requesting the refund be initiated. Disgusted by these unnecessary delaying tactics, I posted a review on here, similar to this.
Within less than an hour, I had received the email containing return instructions.
Amazing how quickly a return gets initiated once you post a bad review. It should NEVER take that long, especially when I contacted them on the day I received the sunglasses to explain what I received was incorrect, (which they acknowledged) there is NO reason to delay a customer returning the item, except for corporate greed.

And this brings me to the current issue- VD returns can only be posted through a parcelpoint/hubbed location. You cannot post at Aus post offices. Parcelpoint/hubbed do not offer receipt of the item, ie when you hand over your return to them, they dont give you a receipt to prove youve dropped the item off with them. VD says the return is only initiated once the item is shown to be on its way, which clearly cannot be proven. In my case I asked the person at the Parcelpoint to use my phone to take a photo that my item was received on their system. I sent this photo to VD, again, because I have no other way of proving Ive posted the item.
Four days later and there has been no tracking change on my item. I have contacted VD twice more re this, with no further progress on their end in initiating the refund.
I have now had to contact my bank to reverse the transaction as it appears VD are knowingly delaying my refund, due to tactics on their end, ie it will likely be another month before the sunglasses are physically received by VD and the refund process is commenced.

As a loyal, long term customer, who has spent thousands of dollars with VD, I am disgusted at the delaying tactics being used, so this greedy company can hold onto my money for as long as possible.
For an item which they have admitted was faulty due to their own incompetence, no less.

I would also like to note, that I was emailed by VD to remove my original review (which I did), in return for getting a refund more promptly, which has not happened.
Instead of acting professionally and trying to retain a 16 year customer, they have tried to delay me as much as possible (in spite of my following the VD return policy) and not allow me to receive a refund for the garbage item I was sent. I will NEVER shop with VD again and have been actively warning everyone I had previously recommended them to avoid this greedy incompetent company.
I will be contacting ACCC and providing evidence of the tactics used by VD which are breaching standards.

Frames great and follow up customer service!

I'm very pleased with the stylish frames I purchased but it took about a fortnight before they arrived which I thought was overly long.
