Vitamin Shoppe Free Online Health Coach Lack Knowledge
I was being serviced by Vitamin Shoppe's Free online Health Coach Ms. Michels. It started out well with her recommending a plan diet that did work for my wellness needs. However, several times I had to educate Ms. Brittany Michels about herbs and alternative natural food sources to use than supplements. In one session, this health coach failed to point out an important factor in using certain herbs' side affects.
It was due to my own researching that led to me avoiding an adverse affect from this herb. My last virtual meeting I asked Ms. Michels is there any other natural source food enzymes to use for breaking down the fat and sugars than the lemon juice water she recommended.
Ms. Michels told me no there is only lemon water that can act as an enzyme in breaking down fat and sugars. Well, I did my own research and found on a holistic practitioner's website there are 20 natural food sources that act as an enzyme to break down fat and sugars. I had suffered with digestive problems with trying to use lemon water to break fats, proteins, and sugars because Ms. Michels didn't provide the correct information.
This leads me to believe in my opinion that The Vitamin Shoppe is not performing periodic checks on their virtual health coaches communication with customers. That perhaps in my opinion you can't trust these people who work for commercial health stores as being well-versed in holistic wellness.
It never fails that anything that is free service needs to be caution in adequate knowledge in specialty. I don't blame Brittany Michels for her negligent in knowledge of holistic education (in my opinion) but The Vitamin Shoppe is blame for not taking responsibility in providing her with continued education in such field of specialty. This would avoid customers from being misguided in natural wellness.

Trying to diversify and not order exclusively from Amazon, but Vitamin Shoppe sure makes it a challenge to do that.

Unexpected Price Increase
I had an auto-delivery set up for an omega-3 vitamin at a specific price that was advertised when I signed up. When my next shipment processed and was shipped, the price was suddenly and significantly higher, with no notice or explanation.
I called customer service to ask about the change, but the representative was also confused and couldnât explain why the price was different. What made it more confusing was that a future shipment scheduled for March was still showing the original price I had signed up for. I was told someone would look into it and get back to me but no one ever did.
Two weeks later, today, I called again and was told that auto-delivery does not lock in a price and that prices can change at any time. That was never clearly communicated to me when I signed up. The explanation basically boiled down to: prices fluctuate, and itâs on the customer to check the price before each shipment.
Because of the lack of transparency and follow-up, I ended up canceling my auto-delivery. Just a heads-up to anyone considering this service --be careful, because the cost may increase without warning and it's on you to check.

The manager at the vitamin Shoppe at Perimeter in Atlanta, Georgia has decided that she will not allow any customer to scan in her store for Shopkick. Shopkick is an app that the Vitamin Shoppe as well as individual companies that sell the product in the Vitamin Shoppe work with in order to bring business into the Vitamin Shoppe. I tried to explain all of this to her, but she was adamant that corporate Vitamin Shoppe had instructed her to stop all scanning in the store on Shopkick. Iâve been going to the store for many years and this is the first employee who I encountered, who wasnât anything but helpful and professional. She has not only removed all of the Pure Encapsulations from the shelf, but went so far as to tamper with the barcodes still on the shelf so that scanning is impossible. I have reported this to Shopkick, pure encapsulations, and corporate Vitamin Shoppe. I am an integrative holistic MD who used to refer patients to the Vitamin Shoppe.

I shop at Vitamin Shoppe in Roseville, MN. Eric who works there is amazing and so informative. I have a hard time shutting down my busy brain so I can go to sleep. Eric recommended Pharma GABA for relaxation and mental focus. It has helped me so much. I am able to relax and go to sleep. When I sleep, I sleep very well. I also noticed a decrease in my pain from Osteoarthritis. I appreciate Eric's help each time I visit the Vitamin Shoppe.
Everyone does not like shipping butâŠ
Everyone does not like shipping but when shipping is automatically selected during check out and I only pickup from store, if I submit the order mistakenly, they never allow cancellation even seconds after submitting. Which is very irritating because this error has happened multiple times due to Vitamin shoppes website automatically selecting shipment. I then have to spend more money to pick up in store. This is irritating and has happened enough for me to leave a bad review because their customer service is worthless.

They had the product i needed when no one else did! Been having issues looking for my energy drink that ive been drinking for a long time, and then found that the energy drink company was no longer gonna make it and after awhile I couldn't find it locally or even on the major online retailer that everyone uses but I found the vitamin shoppe looking online and they have had it everytime I called highly recommend this company
Forget having them ship items
I usually pickup items and that works well. Forget getting items shipped. My current need was not in stock for pickup, so I order it and after a week I'm still waiting.
So, I will find a better vendor.
I used to love them
I used to love them. However i was having a problem getting a product. Kept being told lies. Than i got a call months ago from someone in corporate. I was shocked. Unfortunately my phone never rang. She left a voice mail to call her back. I left probably 10 messages over several months. I gave up she never called back. They are loising my buisness. Customer service is very important and thats why im given them a 1. There are MANY other good places but i really liked them. What happened to you all. So sad.

Itâs my two year anniversary with The Vitamin Shoppe. Iâm grateful for Fugate (TVS store manager) and The Vitamin Shoppe located on Brook Rd., Glen Allen, VA for the following reason.
When I was learning how to heal my cancer (in the very beginning, circa March 2023), I experimented with a variety of nutraceuticals (because experimentation is the only way to create lasting solutions). One day, I decided to test my physical limits using a food supplement. Within minutes, I realized that I had exceeded my physical limits and I couldnât find my activated charcoal. I rushed to the local Urgent Care clinic and explained my dilemma and need of activated charcoal. The nurse on duty apathetically stated that she could not help me (even though I had health insurance and cash-on-hand). Perplexed, my mind raced to think of a solution, because my time was running out. I was light-headed, weak, and I knew I would pass out in minutes. Mustering all my focus, I remembered a Vitamin Shoppe I had visited (in another town), so I checked my coordinates and a TVS was literally under 5 minutes away from me. I rushed into TVS and quickly explained to the CSR that I had accidentally poisoned myself and I needed a bottle of water and activated charcoal to absorb the consumed food. The Vitamin Shoppe employee (Fugate - store manager) quickly and calmly brought me the two items. He helped me open the capsules to add the charcoal to the water. In seconds, I drank the entire solution. I asked Fugate if I could sit on his store front lawn and if I became unconscious would he kindly call 911. Instead, he said I could sit on one of his chairs inside the store to wait, so with gratitude, I did. In 15 minutes, I felt better. I asked to pay for the water and the charcoal, but Fugate said there was no charge. Two years later, Iâve learned how to heal my body using nutrition and many of my nutraceuticals are purchased from The Vitamin Shoppe because I am now a regular customer. I enjoy conversing with the staff and I applaud TVSâs new line of stearate-free nutraceuticals such as the milk thistle which is important for proper liver detoxification.

My experiences in the past were okay. I usually order online for a store pick up. It has become extremely difficult to do so lately due to the store being out of stock, so a few times I ordered for delivery. This wasn't much better. The thing that is causing me to consider other alternatives is due to their advertising. I got a card in the mail saying that I was a special level customer and that I was being offered 25% off my whole order and I could pick the date to use the card. There was an expiration date for the use of the card, but that wasn't my problem. My problem was the small print on the card. There were like 8 lines of small print listing the vitamins that were excluded. The Vitamin Shoppe brand was one of them. So when I went online and spent the time to create a $300 order, everything gave me the message that this item was not eligible for the deal. I called, went to the store and emailed. I got no response from the email and the store and call told me that the Vitamin Shoppe brand was excluded. Are all these companies the same?
Missing order/Items
I have been a customer of this company since 2017. At first everything was fine, but I see that since 2020 this company has a problem with the delivery of packages. I have lost my order completely several times. I have been receiving orders for the last 1 year, but the items are missing. I didn't want to write this, but in November 2024, I purchased $ 200 worth of products during the Black Friday discounts, but 1 item is missing from the order. I communicated with them through online chat, but I don't know why they refuse to discuss this topic.They do not refund or refuse to resend the item.
how the BOGO specials really work
Dec. 2024 The Vitamin Shoppe (VS) is running a BOGO special on VS brand products: buy one, get one 50% off. However, all customers need to be aware of how VS conducts this: VS wants customers to combine all items so that the BOGO wonât apply to the most expensive products but to the least expensive (ie: if two $40 items are ordered and two $20 items are ordered, only the $20 items will get the 50% off). Not such a good deal. I was ordering on-line because the local store (and there's only one in my area) is typically out items or only has the smaller size (ie: 100 capsules vs 300 capsules). Well, I placed a very large order (over $1k) which I immediately canceled because I didn't get the expected BOGOs. From my perspective, VS was overcharging me. So then I tried entering one order at a time for only one product (ie: 6 large bottles of psyllium on order #1, then 6 large bottles of tumeric on order #2, and so on.) to obtain the full BOGO on each product. After about 3 orders, VS began cancelling my orders. I tried again the next day - same results. Over the last two days of frustration, I did an on-line chat & two phone calls with their C/S dept. & while all the C/S reps were very nice & professional (truly, these were the best C/S that I've encountered anywhere in a long while), net-net, the last person explained how VS wants the BOGO to work & that their system will flag any account that appears to by-pass it. BUYER BEWARE. If there's a well-stocked VS in your area, you can probably skirt this issue by going to the store frequently and just buying multiple of one product per purchase.

Obnoxious ad at full volume despite phone being silenced
Their ad keeps popping up on an app I use at my phone's FULL VOLUME. I turned my volume off and it still popped up just as LOUD. I dont know how this is even possible or why this company thinks that illegally overriding phone settings with intrusively LOUD ADs would make people want anything to do with their business. I cant even use that app now. I would be afraid to shop at a business that cant even be respectful and disregards peoples phone settings with their ads. I WILL NEVER SHOP AT YOUR COMPANY. I wish I could find a way to override their volume to scream at them the way theyve been screaming at me all night, but consumers dont have any rights anymore except one, BOYCOTT.
Terrible customer service
Got energy drink case shipped, two cans popped open. Shipping box wasn't wet so someone sent me a damaged case. Customer service tried to only refund me for two cans even though all the cans were sticky. I'm done with vitamin shoppe.

Great experience at physical store
I'm surprised about the negative reviews here but seems they're mostly related to online experiences. I visited a physical store on 8th avenue. I was looking for D3 + K2 complex which is not easy to find and received very professional guidance from the staff. They were not pushy at all and very friendly. I'll definitely come back!
